[00:00:00]Jordan: Yeah, I'm very much an in-person person. I also got Jay Gatsby from Great Gatsby. I also got, what else did I get? Ron Swanson.
[00:00:12]Darius: Great party host like Mr. Gatsby. Yes.
[00:00:14]Jordan: Oh yeah, that is true. Oh **** they got me right.
[00:00:18]Darius: That was a lovely spread.
[00:00:20]Jordan: That was, thank you. I appreciate it. My family appreciates it.
[00:00:22]Darius: Welcome to Out the Trunk with Jordan and Darius. My name is Darius. That's Steve's I love the area on all socials.
[00:00:28]Jordan: And I'm Jordan. That's Jordan to be riding on all socials.
[00:00:31]Darius: This is our segment we title What's On Our Mind. If you have a better idea for a title, let us know. We let you guys know what's on our mind and what we've been seeing on the internet, what we've been thinking about. And I just wanted to start off by asking a question. There are currently 8 1/2 million people in New York City.
[00:00:50]Jordan: Yes.
[00:00:51]Darius: Madison Square Garden seats 19,500 people.
[00:00:55]Jordan: Correct.
[00:00:56]Darius: New York City is the most affluent city in the world's richest country. Why are people surprised that tickets are expensive? I don't. They haven't been to the finals in 50 years. And you're the richest city in the world. Yeah, I don't.
[00:01:14]Jordan: Were people shocked the prices? I mean, I was shocked. I wasn't shocked that they were expensive. I knew they were going to be expensive. I was shocked that some of the nosebleed prices for sure, though.
[00:01:23]Darius: Well, so I see that. That's what those tickets are listed for. But like, I'd like to see how many were actually sold for that. Because that resale scalpers. Resale scalpers. It could just be season ticket holders saying, I want to go so bad. This is the only number I'll take. And just no one buys a ticket. True. So it just. But yeah, I don't. understand what people want. It's like the stadium. If the stadium was 100,000 people, like you don't see People were looking at those prices comparing it to the Super Bowl. It's like the Super Bowl is in 80,000 seats venues. It's different.
[00:02:00]Jordan: Right. It's the biggest rings in the world.
[00:02:01]Darius: But yeah, it's just a weird confluence of events where you have the densest populated city in America. America's the richest country in the world and the team hasn't done it in 50 years.
[00:02:11]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:02:12]Darius: You know, I don't, you know, if someone said we should be able to go to, you know, it should be like a people with two regular jobs should be able to go to a couple of SEC football games a year. I'm like, I'm with that. is a normal, that is something that no one should be priced out of. I'm sorry, the NBA finals is rich people ****. Like that's just like saying everyone deserves a Ferrari. Like, you know, like.
[00:02:36]Jordan: I hear you, but it does make the, I've noticed that throughout the playoffs that it does make the, it appears to be makes the vibes better. Just like the game for Lakers Thunder game, they lowered the prices. So like more regular people, that sounds bad, but you know what I mean? average earners can kind of be able to go to the game and they just were way better rooting audience, like just watching from home, hearing the crowd noise and all that. And a lot of people did say that the audience noise at MSG last night was underwhelming. So I do get the point. I do empathize with the fans on that aspect. But I mean, for sure, again, NBA finals is the Super Bowl of basketball, you know, aside from the Olympics. So, you know, if you work in a If you're if you're working in my job, you're not going to be able to afford to go. You know what I'm saying?
[00:03:23]Darius: Also, just like I was listening to Hoop Collective, Windhorse Bond, Bond Temps and Tim McMahon. And Bond Temps was in the podcast. And he was like, yeah, I have a buddy who had lower bowl tickets and he sold them for 25 grand a piece. I mean, bro, You could be the most diehard fan in the world at a certain point, not selling the ticket, you being irresponsible. Like, you know.
[00:03:48]Jordan: Yeah, that's true. Because you could. That's right for like half the gear.
[00:03:53]Darius: 50 bands is a heavy down payment on a home. It's a entry level luxury vehicle. It is.
[00:04:02]Jordan: Yeah, over the course of a day. And I don't know how much Nick's ticket season price. next season ticket prices are, but I'm sure that's a profit.
[00:04:10]Darius: I'm sure you probably get the next year free just off the profit of that.
[00:04:14]Jordan: Probably.
[00:04:15]Darius: I had a friend. I had a coworker in Minnesota. He had Vikings season tickets. And every year he sold the Bears game and the Packers game. And then the profit was enough to just get the tickets for free. The other six games are free. He was like, look, obviously those are the two best tickets, but. I get six games for free if I sell these tickets. Like it's just, you know, and it was like, yeah, he never. I mean, I'm sure he did some years and he might have in the recent is a coworker, so I don't talk to him anymore. But he was like, yeah, every year he sells the Packers and the Bears games and the profit pays for the all the other games for free. So I mean, look, I get I get that it's a bit disappointing. And I do think the crowd was it was it was it wasn't as rocking as I thought it would be. But part of that was like the president was there. So there was like a two hour wait to get in.
[00:05:09]Jordan: And that sucked. I feel really bad for the city for that. Like, couldn't have the watch parties outside, couldn't couldn't be, in Central Park and ****. The businesses. I know the businesses suffered a great deal, obviously, because.
[00:05:21]Darius: We live near an arena. Could you imagine?
[00:05:24]Jordan: Yeah, bro. Oh my God. Dude, what? Like, imagine if they cut if they cut off like the Moore Square watch party for the ******* NHL finals. Like, I think it was a ride in the streets.
[00:05:36]Darius: Imagine if it was the last was a home game. Imagine if we were a home game, everything from Durley to Hillsborough was just blocked off and you couldn't drive through. You couldn't walk through. Bro, you might as well just close it. Like you might as well open your restaurant.
[00:05:51]Jordan: No one's going to get like if I if I lived in New York yesterday, I just wouldn't have gone to work because how the **** am I going to get home?
[00:05:57]Darius: And if people haven't been to New York City, Madison Square Garden is like dead in the city. It is literally straight midtown, right next to Penn Station. It's one of the rare arenas left that is still in the city.
[00:06:11]Jordan: And similar to where the Capitol, the generals and the Wizards play.
[00:06:16]Darius: Yeah. And it's like, dude, imagine if you haven't been to New York City for the listeners, imagine if the biggest part of your city was just blocked off on the biggest night in 50 years.
[00:06:28]Jordan: Yeah, dude, like that's ******* crazy, man. And by the way, I just looked it up. So for premium lower level season tickets, regular season price averages between 15 grand and 50,000. So like you just cashed in on your whole season tickets in one night?
[00:06:44]Darius: Yeah, and you get so basically he either he can take the profit or he can just get his next year tickets for free. It's just like, man, it gets to a certain point. I forget what I was talking about. I had spiked back when Kobe, well, back when he first died, he only died one time. But like when the shoes came out, the Mamba Seeds, the 6th, the Kobe 6 Mambacetas came out. And I just spiked him on a sneaker raffle. I think this was before we met. So this had been 2021. And the resale price was like 1300 bucks. And I'm like, I like these shoes, but at a certain point I'm being irresponsible keeping these shoes.
[00:07:26]Jordan: I mean, you still have a hard time getting Kobe's just because of his passing now on apps and ****.
[00:07:31]Darius: So I sold them and I mean, I think I paid $180 for them and I netted out like 1100. It was like $1,000. I was like, dude, I like these shoes enough, but Yeah, you can buy them five times over in a couple of years. It gets to a point where it's like you're kind of being irresponsible and not doing it. So that if it happened again, I would just keep the shoes. But at the time I'm like, yeah, I could come. I just came up with grand, you know, just, you know. Well, while we're here, who do you think who do you think is going to win since we're not doing the sports segment for the rest of the finals? Yeah.
[00:08:15]Jordan: I'm on the fence because after, I mean, we watched game two, we watched game two, together with the guys, Friday. And I was like, this might be raps. But I'd feel really good if I'm the Spurs, to be honest with you. I'd say to the guys, hey man, we blew game two, that sucks. We lost some quarter advantage. We could be up to one, but we can still split. Or worst case scenario, you split. But if you go all out, you hope for the best in, game four. I think they have a good chance to win that game, given out just the residue of everything that's happened the last couple of days. Brent has not really been efficient very well. He's made big shots, but he's not been efficient at all. Yeah, quite frankly, let's be honest, he's been bad. Aside from like 5 shots he's made in the fourth quarter, you know, that's kind of let him skate and the fact that they're up to one. If the roles were reversed, we'd know what people would be saying. Becky Hammond would be looking real correct right now.
[00:09:07]Darius: And it's a sneaky 2-1, because game one was tied with 10 seconds left. And game two.
[00:09:12]Jordan: Game 2, Spurs blew that one.
[00:09:13]Darius: Yeah, it was like a, I think I might have, they were both either tied or went late. And then game three was close. So it's like someone has to win and someone has to lose these games, but they weren't, it wasn't like the Knicks blew them out by 20 and then came home and lost.
[00:09:27]Jordan: They never smacked him in the face. They're like, if I'm Miss Johnson, I'm like, hey guys, we could be F3-0, we could be F2-1. Let's just make sure that we don't have to say that at the end of the season. You know what I'm saying? I'll be like, okay, we got to win game four-game four, so I must win, and then you can close this **** out at home. So, you know, and also worst case scenario, game seven on the road, the pressure's on the home team. So I'd like my chance if I'm San Antonio. I think the Knicks are, I think they're playing, I mean, they're playing obviously well enough to win these games. They're in position to win every game. But Brent's going to miss in the fourth quarter eventually. Like he can't just keep making every shot in the fourth quarter. You know what I'm saying? Like his fourth quarter numbers are saving his average in the series, quite frankly. So I picked the Spurs. I feel like I was wrong for a few days. I'm going to stay with the Spurs though.
[00:10:16]Darius: I'm switching back to the Knicks. Knicks and five. I'm going to go with it. Jayla Brunson, you're approaching 30. Stop having your dad act like an AAU coach on the side. Yo, bro, that's man.
[00:10:27]Jordan: Come on, man. He's his dad acts like what they say LeBron acts like.
[00:10:32]Darius: Yeah, he's like, dude. As a grown man approaching 30, all NBA max contract player in the finals, you got to tell your pops. Like, look, man, I'm a big boy.
[00:10:43]Jordan: He got to hit the LeBron to Gloria, sit your *** down.
[00:10:47]Darius: Well, what was it last year? Halliburton had to check his pops.
[00:10:51]Jordan: Yeah, he had to check his dad.
[00:10:52]Darius: He was like, listen, he came to the press conference right after. He was like, look, I told my dad that's doing.
[00:10:56]Jordan: Yeah, he was dripping.
[00:10:57]Darius: That's, yeah, that was like a grown man, like, you know, Jalen Brunson, check your pops, man.
[00:11:03]Jordan: Yeah, for sure. Yeah, he got to do something about that. It's almost given like the Lonzo Ball, sorry, Levar Ball **** where it's like you kind of live through your kid right now because you never was on that level as a player.
[00:11:14]Darius: And it's kind of telling that. you won't check your pops because the other players, like don't get me wrong, dads are going to be dads, but like it's on you to be like, pops, chill. Like, yeah, bro, you got, I got this dog.
[00:11:24]Jordan: It's the big stage.
[00:11:25]Darius: Yeah, like you're making me look like a little kid out here, man.
[00:11:28]Jordan: Yeah, I mean, look like a hoe out here. Yeah.
[00:11:31]Darius: So new shows, man. What you got?
[00:11:35]Jordan: Yeah, man. So Coming up in a couple of weeks, House of the Dragon season three comes out, which is the prequel series for Game of Thrones.
[00:11:44]Darius: Didn't they play that last year or was that, I know it's every other year, right?
[00:11:48]Jordan: Yeah, every, yeah, every other year. Yeah.
[00:11:50]Darius: Okay. Four, six, gotcha.
[00:11:52]Jordan: Yeah, 24, 2024 and 2026. So this is the third season. It's going to be four seasons. I wasn't going to watch this season because I just, season 2 was like complete filler. There was like 2 good episodes out of eight and That's just like 6 hours I'll never get back in my life on a Sunday night, in the middle of summer. But everyone I know who's read the prequel said that this season's going to be all smoke and episode one's supposed to be like a crazy banger. So I'm looking forward to it. I'm excited. So I'll get back into that. I might even have to rewatch or try to see if I can get through the book pretty quickly in the next couple of weeks. I found this new show.
[00:12:27]Darius: I watched a couple episodes of that and the hook was a decent hook, but Man, even by Game of Thrones standards, it was a lot of walking and talking.
[00:12:37]Jordan: Yeah, man, it was a lot of walking and talking. And the thing with the Targaryens is, they all have the same ******* name. I don't know what's happening or who's who or what's what or which side is on who. Like, can y'all put jurors on these people, please? There's that, yeah.
[00:12:49]Darius: And it's just like, it's like you just feel super boxed in. And coming from such an expansive world of Game of Thrones, You're at the wall, you're at Castle Rock, you're at the hills. It's just you're just in a one room talking.
[00:13:04]Jordan: You're in King's Landing. You're right. It's just a lot. Because Game of Thrones is it's basically like an MCU almost just the level of characters and the scope and the scale of everything. House of Dragons, it was like a lot's going on in this one, like no pun intended, literal house. Like this one house is all this crazy **** is happening. Yes, I'm looking forward to season three. I have high hopes now because I was pretty much out on the show. I found this new show called Not Suitable for Work. It streams on Hulu and Disney Plus. So I started watching it because I found a, I started reading a clip on Twitter, Lawrence from Insecure is in it. And he plays a boss on the show, which is kind of cool to see him be like an ******* in a corporate setting.
[00:13:49]Darius: We saw it.
[00:13:50]Jordan: I started watching that. It's pretty good. he's more of an ******* in the relationship setting.
[00:13:57]Darius: Different kind of *******.
[00:13:59]Jordan: Yeah, So yeah, I think he's really talented. So I'll try to stick with that show and see kind of what happens with that. And Mindy Kaling is a writer or producer on the show. She was in the office. She did the Mindy project and she's done a lot of other dope shows and stuff. Yeah, so excited about that. I'm going to check that out probably over the weekend or something. So yes, I want to ask you what's new, what you've been listening to, what you've been watching, any new games you picked up?
[00:14:29]Darius: Watching season 2 of The Pit. It came out February through April, but I just had I don't I just had too much going on. So I am going back through season 2 of that. For those that don't know, it's basically each episode is an hour in the emergency room in Pittsburgh. It's called The Pit. And So it's 15 episodes. Basically, like the season is 1 shift and season 2 is on the 4th of July. And you just basically, it's like a workplace drama. So like different patients come in with what's going on. And like, it's super realistic. If you're squeamish, it might not be for you because it's in an ER. You can guess what happens there. A lot of tracheotomies, a lot of just blood and gore because you're in some guy. Yeah, like, you know, Kid blew his hand off with 4th of July fireworks. They don't really blur anything.
[00:15:24]Jordan: So Jason Pierre Paul.
[00:15:26]Darius: Correct. And so different things like that. It gets a little heavy-handed in spots. You could tell that, you know, like we said last week, like it's not that people don't want political messages and things that they watch, but this gets a little heavy-handed in spots. Like they have like ice springs in undocumented person because during the arrest, like her arm messed up. And the ICE character is literally like a Marvel villain. Like he's just like 9 feet tall and he has a mask on and he's like, can we throw her away now? And it's like, he's a little heavy-handed. Like, you know, he's literally like 9, like really, really tall. And he's just, I hate your kind. And like there's little subtle things that are better. Like later in that season, one of the characters or one of the patients has to drive his dad in from an hour away for, because it's dial is like this hospital close for dialysis that someone asks why the hospital closed and she says like Medicare cuts and it's just like a little softer touch, you know, like, you know, just like you don't have to scream at me. Just, you know, but yeah, check that out, man. It's really highly rated. Basically, just like 10 doctors. And I don't think there's a bad character on the show. And watching that, playing the new, as far as video games go, I just bought a Nintendo Switch 2 about a month ago as a B-day gift to myself. And I got the new Super Mario Wonder. And it is, it's like, if you're used to like the old school Super Nintendo side scrolling Mario, it's just basically that with a 2026 paint job. And it's pretty dope. Like better controls and stuff or better controls. And it's just deeper like pause. You get like different mushrooms do different things. Like there's different skills you can get. It's just, it's modest, basically. So you could pick which hat you wear going into each level and some hats you can float with and some hats you can bounce off the walls and just, you know, they just put a new paint on it. And if you just, and because it's handheld, it's really what I call low commitment gaming like if I have like I finished folding clothes uh 20 minutes before we potted like that's too I'm not firing up a game of Madden to kill 20 minutes right I could pop on playing that level of Mario and turn off my Nintendo like it's just like really like pop in here and type game plays so I'm really loving the switch man um that's pretty dope and yeah it's kind of all I'm into might get the new NHL if it stays cheap and the the canes pull it out but okay I found that playing sports I'm unfamiliar with via video game is like a good teacher.
[00:18:13]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:18:13]Darius: You know how I learned baseball as a young and no one. I mean, watch baseball. So like, that's right. And the rules of baseball, MVP baseball. Oh, one or two, whatever year.
[00:18:22]Jordan: Oh, ****. Okay.
[00:18:23]Darius: Yeah. Anything else for you?
[00:18:26]Jordan: Yeah. So I actually. So actually, literally today I just bought or download, bought and downloaded the new NHL 20 bucks until I think Thursday. I've only played for like 20 minutes. Yeah, it's, graphics are pretty good. It's, I've only played for like 20 minutes. The hardest part that I'm having trouble with, well, obviously the controls, I don't know what the hell I'm doing or how to do anything, is figuring out what camera angle works best for me. Because it's not like basketball, because basketball, it's, you know, one end of the floor for at least 24 seconds. Hockey, it's, you're everywhere, the whole court, or the whole, the whole rank, the whole game. So I got to figure out how to kind of which camera works best for my eyesight or just, how I perceive things and view the game, as a novice. So that's kind of the tricky part right now. I'm just like trying different camera angles to figure out what the **** what to do. So I'll be figuring that out this summer, I guess. And then Music wise, Vince Stables dropped an album, I think Friday. So I got that, got to that yesterday. I've been spending it a little bit of the last day or so. It's pretty good. It's like a 30 minute, 40 minute project. It's basically like a rock album, which is kind of cool. Live instrumentation or all digital? It sounds like live instrumentation.
[00:19:46]Darius: Okay, that helps.
[00:19:48]Jordan: My first couple listings. Yeah, it just sounds like him and a band, which is pretty cool.
[00:19:54]Darius: Can a little Yachty exist in this space for me to where I'm not, I wasn't like you just told me, but sometimes I'm like, I'm not sure they actually make music. I never hear anything about this.
[00:20:05]Jordan: They're just like famous.
[00:20:06]Darius: Yeah, they're just famous. And they do interviews. And I'm like, I've never, I couldn't. I know the one song Vince did in that episode of Insecure, we just want to have fun. He headlines at her party. And I was like, that's the first time I've heard of Vince Staples song, but I knew who he was. And Little Yachty, I couldn't, I'm not convinced he makes music.
[00:20:27]Jordan: So he's actually a pretty good producer. He's more of a better producer and he's written **** for other people that have been hits. I think he writes with or for Drake. I'm not sure exactly how that works, but I know he does produce with him from time to time. He just is not a good rapper for himself. I also think his voice is bad. So I think that's part of it too. Yeah, it's pretty good, actually. Vince, so his last album, I think it was called Dark Times. It's good. He's a really good rapper. I think it's just because he's had such a dynamic personality. It's almost hard to listen to his, not hard to listen to his music, but he's hard to perceive as just a rapper because he does a lot of different things. It's kind of like Charles Gambino in a sense. Because I enjoy his interviews as much as I enjoy his music because he's just such an interesting and like witty guy, you know. But I'd definitely give it a spin. It's some really interesting music. It's got some political, a lot of political overtones to it, which I really like, but it's not, you know, we shall overcome.
[00:21:24]Darius: Yeah.
[00:21:24]Jordan: You know what I'm saying?
[00:21:26]Darius: What's the day with the project?
[00:21:28]Jordan: What's it called? Crybaby.
[00:21:30]Darius: Okay.
[00:21:30]Jordan: It's a red album cover. It's got like a white baby on it. Check it out.
[00:21:37]Darius: As far as music, nothing new. I did. I was scrolling Twitter the other day, X, I guess. And I saw someone put, mentioned Vivian Green, like an R&B singer from the early 2000s. And I recently, I just, you know, hadn't thought about her in a while and just spun her first two albums today while I was at work. And I was like, yeah, this holds up. So that's kind of the latest old but new thing that I'm listening to. Yeah, man, that's pretty much it. Watching the pit. After that, I have a backlog of movies, non-pod related, just that I meant to see in the theaters that just never got to, but now they're on streaming. And so Undertone is like this, it's about this true crime podcaster and it's a horror movie. And I don't watch trailers. So like I just read like that quick blurb. So I'll just figure out that's like 9 inches, looks good.
[00:22:39]Jordan: Obsession.
[00:22:41]Darius: What'd you say?
[00:22:42]Jordan: It's 824, so it should be good.
[00:22:45]Darius: 824.
[00:22:47]Jordan: No, it's made by 824.
[00:22:49]Darius: Oh, okay. I got you. I was like, it's 758.
[00:22:54]Jordan: 1738.
[00:22:55]Darius: Did we did you time warp? So I'll check that out. And you, me and Tuscany, I got that I haven't seen the drama I got that I haven't seen. And I want to rewatch Project Hail Mary. And so that's kind of the backlog once the finals clear out, the Stanley Cup finals clear out. And then I finished the pit. In addition to the pod stuff. So that's kind of, you know, the free summer clean, you know, free time. And so, yeah, in the beginning, you always wondered, like, what are you going to do to fill the space without sports? But you figure it out, you know, so.
[00:23:35]Jordan: Right. We're talking about Lizo. Not something to do every night. Yeah, let's talk about Lizzo.
[00:23:43]Darius: So someone tweeted, Lizzo not having a fan base is so weird to me when this woman was literally selling out arenas not even two years ago. Like where did these people go? And Lizzo quote tweeted it with, I actually can answer this. The industry changed so much in the last three years. Streaming replaced radio and I was a radio darling. That's how my fans discovered my music, not to mention the very obvious and public attack on my career changed things. I'm out here doing my absolute best and you can't knock a ***** for that. She said, ***** I didn't. I'm literally crying for the people to know.
[00:24:15]Jordan: She took a DNA test and it turns out she's 100% that *****.
[00:24:18]Darius: Right. So, okay, so one, the industry changed so much in the last three years, I find it to be a dubious claim.
[00:24:26]Jordan: Yeah, that's cap.
[00:24:28]Darius: Public attack on my career changed things. I don't even know what that means. I'm just, maybe I'm just out of the way.
[00:24:33]Jordan: There's like 5 layers to that. Okay, so there's.
[00:24:38]Darius: First, let me ask. What changed in the last three years?
[00:24:42]Jordan: Nothing.
[00:24:43]Darius: Who was listening to the radio in 2023?
[00:24:45]Jordan: We all have smartphones. We all listen to streaming services. I don't know what the **** she's talking about. I read that I was like, three years? You mean like 10 years?
[00:24:54]Darius: I haven't turned on a ******* FM radio since I lived in California in 2013.
[00:25:01]Jordan: I've done it when my Bluetooth wasn't connecting. Like that's the only time. And even then I couldn't, I was like, these ads, what is this?
[00:25:09]Darius: I'll let you go first. Like, so that's just my first question. I was like, I'm finding that to be a dubious claim.
[00:25:14]Jordan: That's cap. That's ********. I don't know what the **** that even. Only an idiot would believe that. Now regards to the public attacks. So there's obvious fat phobia that she has dealt with. That is true.
[00:25:26]Darius: That is yeah.
[00:25:28]Jordan: I don't know if I don't know how much that's the fact that people listen to her music are going to. I can't speak to that. I listen to her music. I think she's great.
[00:25:35]Darius: That makes one of us.
[00:25:37]Jordan: Yeah. I mean, she, I would say I've heard her music. I think she's very talented. I think her fan base is mostly white girls and black girls who don't date black guys. And then also that mean that that's part of the streaming thing. Also in terms of the public attacks, I mean, if you're talking about when she went to the Laker game with her *** out and people said, hey, don't go to the Laker game with your *** out. If you want to view that as a public attack, sure. The other thing is she was sued by like former dancers slash employees for like sexual harassment. And that's still ongoing.
[00:26:13]Darius: So is Meg and people like just to yada, yada, yada past that.
[00:26:17]Jordan: Yeah, they did. Right. Because she made that dude record her ******* in the car with the allegedly. No, I think that didn't happen with. Yeah. So we said it before.
[00:26:25]Darius: People pick and choose when that stuff matters.
[00:26:27]Jordan: They do pick and choose. And we know why. We know why. Yeah.
[00:26:31]Darius: So one, this is just laden with excuse making to me. Right.
[00:26:39]Jordan: Get in the booth.
[00:26:40]Darius: Get in the booth. Also, just like she was complaining a couple of weeks ago, like the algorithm changed and she's not like songs, da, da, da, da. And you might just have to hit the streets again.
[00:26:52]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:26:53]Darius: Go out, sign autographs, take pictures with people, do a 500 person show and sign every ticket. Go to the mall, play your ****. Like, sorry, you might not be able to promo in your kitchen anymore. You might have to actually leave your house and see the people again. do you want this or not? And you're mad that the algorithm changed. And, but my larger point was that like, there's in business, there's like a growth mindset. Like you always have to seek the next dollar and you always have to shareholder price has to go up and no one's happy. Just like, you know, just like we have a good business that's just keep making money. You always have to keep growing and growing and growing. And that's bad in music because everybody, what if like she had her run, little two, three-year run, she has a 90 minute set that she can use for the rest of her life. And what if it's just the case that she's going to be touring, doing 5,000 seat venues with that same 90 minute set forever? I mean, no one ever asks like, where's what Jill Scott fell off? And it's like, no, she had her run. She built her 90 minute set. She's going to sing those songs until she dies. And like that. True.
[00:28:03]Jordan: She dropped the album earlier this year. People liked it wasn't for me, but you know.
[00:28:08]Darius: Everybody can't be Rihanna and beyoncé. Everyone isn't going to be on top releasing new relevant music for 30 years. Like, you know, some people.
[00:28:15]Jordan: And by the way, Rihanna ain't dropped the album in 10 years. So.
[00:28:18]Darius: Fair. But you get my point is that like, yeah, everyone isn't going to be a superstar. Some people are going to have their quick run. They're going to do, you know, arenas for two, three years. They're going to flame out. That's happens. And then they'll they used to have that catalog.
[00:28:34]Jordan: Still got your publishing and masters, hopefully.
[00:28:36]Darius: You can still go into most cities and do little 3 to 5,000 seat arenas and you'll never have to clock in at a job again. And like you just need to be happy with that. Like that's fine.
[00:28:47]Jordan: And like you don't know when you're, I mean, she said a ***** is trying, you know, so to quote her, but so like, you know, you never know when your next big hit is going to be or what your next big record is going to be. That also, again, has not happened yet. So we don't really know what it's going to look like. I mean, she's still pretty young. I mean, I don't know how old she is. I mean, she can't be under like 30 So it's not like, it's over.
[00:29:07]Darius: Is she even 30?
[00:29:08]Jordan: Yeah, I don't know. She seems young. She's based on her like outbursts.
[00:29:14]Darius: 38, Jesus, she's my age.
[00:29:16]Jordan: Whoa, she's 38.
[00:29:18]Darius: Yeah.
[00:29:18]Jordan: I mean, that's not old, but like that. I just thought she was.
[00:29:21]Darius: I can say it's old because I'm 38 and it's a little old to be this whiny on the internet.
[00:29:27]Jordan: Yeah, her and Ari Lennox seem like sweet women, but.
[00:29:34]Darius: I already dropped a decent project this year. I haven't gotten to it yet.
[00:29:37]Jordan: Well, I heard she's great. Actually, one of my friends just saw her perform like Sunday night.
[00:29:43]Darius: Yeah, it's just, while I acknowledge her music has never been for me, the few snippets of the last, her recent stuff, bad. And she just, she sounds like that song she made with Lil John.
[00:29:56]Jordan: No, the one she made with Cardi B. That was one of the worst songs I've ever heard. That's like some old Navy *** music. The 80s song where it's like, hey, yeah. That song.
[00:30:09]Darius: No. She has a song with Lil John called STFU where he's just screaming, shut the **** **. And in the video, she's just like taking random like 2018 you know, Internet buzzwords like fascism and like biting into it. It's just it's very.
[00:30:28]Jordan: Oh, okay.
[00:30:29]Darius: She's very pseudo intellectual. No, just she just seems stuck in 2018, 2019, where like she has that very pre-pandemic, basically pre-pandemic and just she just stuck in time like I h
