00:00:00 Darius: Welcome to Out the Trunk with Jordan and Darius. My name is Darius. That's Steve's I love you area on all socials.
00:00:06 Jordan: And I'm Jordan. This is Jordan be writing on all socials.
00:00:09 Darius: This is our segment where we like to let you guys know what's on our mind, what we've been seeing on the internet this week. And unless you live in the upper, in the Pacific Northwest, we dealt with the storm. That's pretty much the only part of the country that did not deal with this. So we had a little snowstorm come through and it was a real one. And I just want to give a quick PSA to the fellas. And I guess it applies to the ladies. That young lady or young gentleman that you've been talking to, Chad, maybe went out a few times. If they disappeared this weekend, you already have your answer. Like you just know. You don't need to follow up. You don't need to ask nobody what's going on. You ain't got to go that far. You just know where you stand in the rotation. You are not in the starting lineup. You're not getting a lot of shots up.
00:01:03 Jordan: You are the 15th man.
00:01:05 Darius: You just.
00:01:06 Jordan: They may be sending you down to the G League.
00:01:10 Darius: The power wasn't out. She didn't forget.
00:01:13 Jordan: Phone wasn't dead.
00:01:14 Darius: She was just busy. And you do with that information what you will.
00:01:17 Jordan: They do not like you. They do not care about you. And that's okay. It was part of the game, man.
00:01:22 Darius: The best thing you can ask for is information. And you got all the information you needed.
00:01:27 Jordan: Yes.
00:01:28 Darius: When that phone stopped being responded to, when everybody, where'd she go?
00:01:35 Jordan: Where the hell was she going? Where was she going? Where was he going? What was he? What was she doing?
00:01:40 Darius: Come on, man. Come on, guys. Two plus two is four. So what you do?
00:01:43 Jordan: It ain't no mixed singles out here.
00:01:45 Darius: What you do this weekend? How'd you pass the time?
00:01:49 Jordan: Well, first of all, well, first of all, real quick, did you see that one video that went viral of a dude walking a girl like to what looked like an Uber in the snow?
00:01:59 Darius: I did. I did. Okay, so. We don't know the context.
00:02:06 Jordan: We don't. We don't. We don't.
00:02:07 Darius: She could for all we know, she could have been an nurse and she just had to go to work.
00:02:10 Jordan: Yeah. She could have been his friend, his sister, anybody, you know, I don't.
00:02:14 Darius: But if you put your sister in a taxi in a blizzard. Nah, you. No, There's a blanket in the closet. You sitting on this couch to the store passes. Yeah. But again, she could have been an essential worker.
00:02:27 Jordan: Yeah.
00:02:28 Darius: Doesn't close. And.
00:02:32 Jordan: Again, that **** took me out.
00:02:34 Darius: It was the funniest. The funniest thing I saw on it was and I want to give I want to credit it because it's funny.
00:02:41 Jordan: Yeah, I got to pull the tweet up. Was it the one I sent you or is it something else?
00:02:49 Darius: No, it was. It was something else. Yeah. Ed Long live Pele. I guess that's the soccer player. Yeah, he quoted. Nobody ever sent an elite eater home mid-blizzard. She needs to get in the lab this summer.
00:03:01 Jordan: Yeah, that's what I saw. Yeah, I saw that one. Yeah, Like immediately getting the lab this summer, dog.
00:03:06 Darius: I find it difficult to believe, like.
00:03:12 Jordan: That was quite distasteful.
00:03:14 Darius: Beyond distasteful.
00:03:15 Jordan: If that's what's really happened. I mean, you gotta, and that's the, it's like, I mean, we didn't see their faces, so, you know, That's kind of ****. If they happen to see you, don't tell anyone like ever, as long as you live.
00:03:28 Darius: No. Let's just hope you pay for the taxi, you know?
00:03:33 Jordan: Let's hope he sprung for the taxi. Yeah, let's hope he paid.
00:03:37 Darius: But no, I mean, look, again, this could be husband and wife and she just had to go to work and there's nothing anyone can do.
00:03:43 Jordan: That's entirely possible. Yeah, that's entirely possible.
00:03:45 Darius: But this is the internet, so jokes are always going to be greater than facts.
00:03:47 Jordan: These jokes are going to fly regardless.
00:03:49 Darius: And it didn't look great. It really did.
00:03:53 Jordan: No, because I saw that and I was like, oh my God, that's.
00:03:57 Darius: How'd you even get a taxi in that?
00:03:59 Jordan: That's the thing too, because who was actually driving this weekend for like Uber and ****? I mean, I hope nobody was, but.
00:04:05 Darius: What, that's a good, that's a good segue. You see all this don't order DoorDash, don't order this and that in the storm.
00:04:12 Jordan: Right.
00:04:13 Darius: And do people not understand how it works?
00:04:16 Jordan: You mean in terms of like demand, like someone has to do it?
00:04:19 Darius: Yeah, I think people believe that you like clock in at the DoorDash store and you just sit around waiting for orders to come in because It's completely 100% opt in as far as I understand it.
00:04:31 Jordan: No. Yes.
00:04:31 Darius: So if you don't order anything, they're just driving around for not making money. So you're not helping. Correct. Yeah. So I just feel like it's misguided advice because no one's just think.
00:04:45 Jordan: But yeah, so see people are thinking it's a kind gesture. People are thinking that if you don't order, they won't drive. But Like you have to get out on the road to drive to see if there are orders.
00:04:57 Darius: Right.
00:04:58 Jordan: So they're already out there. But you can turn, yeah, like if you're near restaurants, you can turn them on like at your house. Like, you know what I'm saying? But you still got to get out and drive that there's going to be a radius that you're just not going to see certain ****. Or they'll tell you like hotspots here, and here. You have to kind of drive to see the hotspots.
00:05:14 Darius: But it is 100% opt in. There's no requirement that you, okay. I can understand if it was like, don't order pizza, because these are employees on the clock and they're sitting in the back warm. Playing switch and then they get a call. Okay, cool. Yeah. Don't **** with them. But if you if they're out there delivering anyway, all you're doing is taking money off their tape. They're already out there.
00:05:34 Jordan: That is true.
00:05:34 Darius: And if it was too dangerous, they wouldn't they would not be out there.
00:05:38 Jordan: It would stop. Yeah.
00:05:39 Darius: You're only an ******* if you do it in don't tip. That's the only thing.
00:05:42 Jordan: That is the thing. Yeah. But I mean, you'd be surprised if you like so much. I remember I worked at a movie theater once in concessions and there was like a hurricane and it was really slow. So they were like, we're about to lose power. We may lose power. We're gonna, we're slow. We're gonna close early, send you guys home. People's power went out in the neighborhoods around us. So they all were like, oh, well, let's go to the movies. So we got ******* packed. And, but eventually they were like, we're closing early. Our employees need to go home and see like if they have power and ****. People have kids, families also like we're human beings. And like the employees were mad as **** that they sent us home in a hurricane and closed the place down.
00:06:23 Darius: Yeah, that's, again, you're there anyway. And that's just different. I feel like I understand why they would, what they're thinking and they think it's benevolent. Like don't bring these people out on the roads. But again, it's not like you're clocking in at the DoorDash store and hanging out on orders and getting an hourly wage for it. If you don't do deliveries, you don't make any money. And so. I don't have a moral objection to ordering DoorDash or whatever deliveries during storms. Just tip because they're out there anyway.
00:06:57 Jordan: You know, just tip well and, you know, be understanding.
00:07:02 Darius: Your food going to be cold. It's going to take longer.
00:07:04 Jordan: Yeah, it's going to take longer. You got to reheat it. It is what it is. You should have prepared. Correct.
00:07:11 Darius: Well, yeah. So what'd you do? How was your snow weekend?
00:07:15 Jordan: So Saturday, we mostly just spent, just spent, like, we've been preparing throughout the week, but, bring more errands and **** Saturday to cover up, the HVAC machine or HVAC units and all that kind of stuff, taking all the necessary precautions. So that's pretty much Saturday. And then once, the snow and sea started falling, just kind of chilled. What did I end up doing? I think I just hung out and watched movies. Honestly, I didn't really do much Saturday. I think I went to bed super early too, because I just kind of hit the wall. It'd been a long week. And then Sunday, I got up early because I went to bed early. I think I maybe did some gaming, did a little bit of reading some audio books, watched a couple movies. I wanted to get my day done in terms of **** I need to do for the weekend before 3 o'clock, because that's when the game started. So at 3 o'clock, I started watching the first game. That game was not, we'll get to the sports, but, It's good. We have all saved for that. Yeah, it was not, didn't have me glued to the TV. So I went out at halftime with my siblings and we went sledding and, you know, took Charlie out in the snow and all that stuff. And I was out there till the end of game one.
00:08:30 Darius: I saw the pictures, man. It looked like a jolly time.
00:08:33 Jordan: It was it was fun. It was it was not it freezed over. I kind of kind of quickly. So it wasn't like the powdery snow, but it was it was good for sledding. So, you know, did that definitely track the rib on the curb. But I survived.
00:08:50 Darius: I dug up an old picture of me and my niece in a Minnesota. It wasn't even like a snowstorm, which is a regular winter.
00:08:58 Jordan: Yeah.
00:08:58 Darius: And I sent it to some people like, This would literally make probably collapse onto itself.
00:09:06 Jordan: Yeah.
00:09:07 Darius: But to be fair, that was real. That was not Southern snow. Like that was, we got about, I'd say 4 to 5 inches and it froze over.
00:09:16 Jordan: And yeah, depending on where you, yeah.
00:09:18 Darius: And it's not really the snow because that snow, it's freezing over. It's the fact that it's like 30 to 35 and then it starts raining and then it freezes over.
00:09:27 Jordan: It melts and then refreezes.
00:09:29 Darius: That's bad. And so crazy.
00:09:33 Jordan: Yeah. The crazy part was like, we were out there sledding. People were like, still driving in the road. It's like, it's Sunday. Where the hell are you going? Like, what the **** are you doing? Like, you can't sit inside for 10 minutes.
00:09:43 Darius: No, man, I saw people like on on the gram. I saw people asking, like, what's the move? I'm like, Come on, man. I don't know if all of them were in Raleigh. Some of them were in dead. I don't know the specific, like I got, I have IG people all over the country, but most of them were in storm areas.
00:10:04 Jordan: Areas, East Coast.
00:10:06 Darius: What's open this? What's open tonight? It's so and so, bro.
00:10:10 Jordan: It's a Sunday. Nothing's open today.
00:10:12 Darius: Just sit down, man. It's okay.
00:10:14 Jordan: It's really crazy to like, people just cannot sit the **** down.
00:10:18 Darius: They cannot sit down, man. They just cannot sit down.
00:10:20 Jordan: It's like, where are you going? It's Sunday. It's dark. It's 6 o'clock. Like the cars were ******* swerving up the road. I'm like, just go home. Just go home and stay there. What are you doing?
00:10:30 Darius: Sit down. It's okay to recharge.
00:10:31 Jordan: Yeah, that **** was ridiculous.
00:10:33 Darius: Saturday. Play some video games. I'm trying to get into this new game, Expedition 33. I don't know if that's going, if we are matched. Okay. And so play that for a few hours, wasn't really into it. Then I started, every year I watch all the best picture nominees. And so I have watched, I have them all except for Marty Supreme. And so a lot of them had already, I mean, I've seen centers. I've seen one battle after another. But yeah. I saw Sentimental Value. And then I already saw if I had legs, I would kick you. And then I watched, what's that one?
00:11:12 Jordan: Hamnet.
00:11:13 Darius: I have not seen Hamnet.
00:11:14 Jordan: Okay.
00:11:15 Darius: I got to check it.
00:11:16 Jordan: I heard great things about that one.
00:11:18 Darius: It's in the theater. Secret Agent is what I watched.
00:11:23 Jordan: Oh, yeah, I heard that's really good. I heard that's really good.
00:11:25 Darius: I've already seen Sinners, already seen One Battle After Another, already seen Begonia, already seen F1. Marty Supreme, I have not seen. I watched this week and I watched Sentimental Value, The Secret Agent, and Train Dreams. And so what's left is Frankenstein, Hamnet, and Marty Supreme. Hamnet and Marty Supreme are still in the theaters, so I might go see one of those tomorrow.
00:11:48 Jordan: Frankenstein is cold as ****. I'm actually doing a book right now.
00:11:53 Darius: And so those are the best picture nominees because I live my raps. I believe you can't complain about who wins or loses if you haven't seen all the nominees.
00:12:02 Jordan: I feel you. Yeah.
00:12:03 Darius: And then Sunday, just watch football. Did a lot of cooking because, when she does to do. But let me ask you this, man. What is your, what was your favorite snowed in snack? You know, you got, that's the weekend when you could just let, just **** it. I was snacking, man. I had, well, you go first. What'd you, what was your favorite snack?
00:12:23 Jordan: Yeah. Oh, I did work out Saturday. I didn't, I didn't leave. Well, certainly Sunday, we just walked up down the hills in the snow. So that's, that was a workout.
00:12:29 Darius: You probably got to work out the steps.
00:12:32 Jordan: Close to it. I got like 6000, something like that. I'm trying to think. What did I? We made like hot chocolate in the crock pot. That's always good. What else did I have? I'm a big chip guy, but I don't like to eat like just a bunch of one type of chip. I'll mix a few different kinds of chips together and then I'll add that. no, I stole it on a paper plate and dug it out. I had the like a little bit of Doritos, Frito-Lays, hot fries, sour cream and onion. I kind of, you know. So your own like salt and vinegar or something like that?
00:13:13 Darius: Like a DIY muncho bag, you know, like the muncho bag is like pretzels, spray the hots.
00:13:19 Jordan: Yeah.
00:13:21 Darius: Yeah. And.
00:13:24 Jordan: Then I had a, I've forgotten that I had gotten this for Christmas or one in like a Christmas game. One of those big bags of like, it's a big like burlap bag, but it's got like smaller bags of pop, various types of popcorn in them, like kettle corn. So I got into that a little bit, mixing that, mixing those flavors up. So that was fun too. So I'd say that was probably my favorite of the storm snacks.
00:13:46 Darius: I got some spicier nacho Doritos. Got the big bags. ate every last one of those between Saturday and Sunday. I got these butter cookies that are pretty good. I was informed those are old man cookies.
00:14:02 Jordan: Butter cookies.
00:14:03 Darius: They were just like, it was just like, they're just butter cookies that apparently they're old man cookies. But you know what? I'm an old man. **** it. Really? Yeah. yeah.
00:14:14 Jordan: Those are the old people cookies. Yeah. Cause they look like cheese straws.
00:14:18 Darius: Yeah. And then spicier nacho Doritos. And then I got some gummy worms and I made some cookies. And then Saturday night, I made some jalapeno poppers and some chicken strips. That was good. And then Sunday, you know, transition back into watching what I eat. So I just kind of got some apps, man. Yeah. Apps are where it's at. So that was, that was, That was what I did during the snow, man. It was good. I'm glad that, well, we might have a little bit of snow next weekend, but.
00:14:51 Jordan: Yeah, so I think it was supposed to snow Saturday. Yeah, but nothing like what we just dealt with.
00:14:57 Darius: So I will be glad to, you know, leave this damn house. I've been in it for a little long. So yeah.
00:15:05 Jordan: And I feel like this, maybe all the storm prep, it made the weekend go by faster. Honestly, it felt like it was like literally a one day weekend to me.
00:15:13 Darius: Yeah, it was, it does. When you, especially when you work remote, like we do. Yeah. We don't break that up by leaving the house on the weekend. It can't just feel like it's just, it's a blur. So yeah.
00:15:27 Jordan: Honestly, I almost missed work Sunday, Monday, yesterday. I woke up and like, it felt like Sunday and I almost went back to sleep.
00:15:36 Darius: Yeah, transitioning out of football season, trying to figure out what to do on weekends is going to be.
00:15:41 Jordan: Yeah, I got to come up with a plan.
00:15:44 Darius: Stephen A, Mark Lamont Hill got into, or I guess there was a conversation about what was going on there. What happened?
00:15:51 Jordan: Yeah, so I was watching the pod while I was working today and Mark Lamont Hill basically posed the question to the cast, like, am I obligated to publicly criticize Stephen A, who's someone I consider a friend, someone who's like Stacey said, someone who's looked out for me, when they'd have to like in real life as opposed to just industry ****. And then, some of them were saying, well, if he's saying these things that, you know, you really don't agree with and that if it was someone that you didn't **** with, you would have already called them out for, you should call them out. And then some people were saying, well, at this point, based on his views, Could you call that person? Would you call that person? Is it fair to call that person, still call that person a friend to you? What I thought was kind of interesting. I personally, I just think that because Marco Myhills kind of built his name on taking certain stances and standing for certain things, I feel like at a certain point, like having beliefs and having conviction is not always convenient. And sometimes you got to say or do things that make you uncomfortable. And even if that includes, you know, maybe putting a friendship at risk or at least holding someone accountable publicly. I mean, like, this is not, like they were saying, you should at least call them first or whatever. And it's like, well, Stephen, they didn't call you before he started saying this **** on TV and on YouTube and on all these networks that he's going on. But yeah, I just wondered, like, at what point does it become people critical if you're someone who's made your name taking certain stances and you have someone who you're calling a friend whose stance is so dimensionally opposed and so Basically, at this point, antagonistic to everything you believe in, at least that we believe you believe in. At what point are you obligated to say something?
00:17:38 Darius: Okay, my first question would be, what does it mean by helped out his career? I mean, we'll never actually know, but that matters.
00:17:43 Jordan: Yeah, he wouldn't, he wouldn't say specifically. Yeah.
00:17:45 Darius: I mean, did you, know, did I put you down for a reference on the job or did you, know, were it just, did I call, right? It's totally different. But like, what did, I guess my question is, what is he supposed to stand out?
00:17:59 Jordan: Like what specific stance or just what you say?
00:18:04 Darius: Stephen A is just a to me the internet like to do this thing where they pretend conservative black people don't exist. And I don't find Stephen A Smith's views to be atypical of the median person I've run into at the barbershop. So what's so like why is why are people demanding Mark Lamont Hill What does Stephen A. do, I guess, other than just being a normal center right black man?
00:18:30 Jordan: Yeah, I mean, I think he's a right wing grifter personally. I mean, I don't think I don't I haven't really heard anyone call for.
00:18:36 Darius: You think anyone to the right me of Pete Buttigieg is a Nazi like you just like you. You live in an ideological bubble. He is Stephen A. Smith is not a right wing grifter. He holds standard Center right views. Right wing grifter is like Candace Owens.
00:18:58 Jordan: Okay, fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's fair.
00:19:01 Darius: You are in such an ideological bubble. You think like anyone to the right of Alyssa Slotkin is like running the Third Reich.
00:19:10 Jordan: No. Well, for me, it depends on, you know, the specific issue. I think that's a thing. Like, I don't think like he's don't think Stephen is like, he's not like a bigot or anything like that. I wouldn't call him a bigot. You know, I do think the timing is odd. And I think the people that he chooses to publicly speak against is is telling and odd.
00:19:32 Darius: I don't have any doubt that he's a Republican.
00:19:35 Jordan: Yeah, for sure. 100%.
00:19:36 Darius: But I think he's like. You know, we've had this conversation before where like, you know, a lot of conservative black people vote out of Democrat vote for Democrats out of like racial solidarity.
00:19:49 Jordan: Right.
00:19:50 Darius: And but if you just did like a blind, what are your what are your opinion on this issue, that issue, this issue, you will they will sound like any other Republican, but they vote for Democrats out of racial solidarity. And as we get farther, further away from the Civil Rights Act of 1968, that racial solidarity, solidarity, solidarity hold falls, you know, falls out just they just You weren't around for it. So you don't understand, it becomes less than a premium. But yeah, it's like people.
00:20:23 Jordan: I was more so confused by Mark's confusion, if that makes sense.
00:20:29 Darius: Yeah, I mean, he is known to, you know, call out people and I get it. But I also understand, you know, there's this conversation, there's this clip I saw on, I think it was on MLK Day. It was Hammad Ali and Martin Luther King.
00:20:45 Jordan: I think I saw that too.
00:20:46 Darius: They were clearly two people who had different views of how things should be done. One's A Muslim, one's A Christian. But, you know, they had a meeting and they come out of the meeting and some reporters come out and they just go, you know, what y'all talk about in there? And they're like, we're going to keep our disagreements in-house. We're going to stand united here. And it doesn't, that doesn't really bother me. Like I can understand what Mark Lamont Hill is like, we have a personal relationship. Whatever disagreements I have with him, we're going to keep personal. some everything is in content. You don't know if he's texting him these disagreements. But I just want like what do they say specifically like that he what do they want him to call out Stephen A. Smith for doing.
00:21:28 Jordan: The podcast that his co-host or I think. Is it specifically? Well, that was a thing because some of them were saying like, okay, well, you should hit him up privately. Some of them were saying, well, it doesn't sound like he, like Mono was probably the most outspoken. I'll say she basically was saying like, you know, being a Republican or being conservative is in any other era in time, not literally, but that's like really normal, a normal thing.
00:21:57 Darius: Right.
00:21:58 Jordan: In this day and age with this regime and this presidency and this, you know, electoral cycle, that's not, that's not what normal is now. You know, we have, you know, them advocating for, you know, killing American citizens in the We have them, putting people away from their families, putting people in, had people putting people in cages, things of that. So we know what's going on. and she was saying, that is, these things have real life consequences. Like people are really being, affected and their rights are being ripped away. Some people's lives being ripped away. And, that's more important than whatever little favor he did for you, basically. And she was the only person who took that stance. But I'm more so leaned towards that ideology with this particular situation. Because again, this is not, this isn't Mitt Romney. You know what I'm saying? This is not John McCain. You know, this is not our parents Republicans.
00:22:47 Darius: Yeah, that's another thing I love when people like someone will be like, say that exact same thing. Like this is not the party of Mitt Romney and John McCain. And someone will be like, it was just as bad then. I'm like, there's just no way you believe that. There's no way.
00:22:59 Jordan: There's no way. Like I didn't want those guys to win, but I didn't think.
00:23:02 Darius: You would think the country would collapse if they want. I guess for me, I'm a results oriented person. And what would it help if Lark LaMille was like, Stephen A. Smith is a, I'm gonna, I'm taking this stand. Would it stop ICE from marching in Minneapolis tomorrow? No. So like, you know, like I don't. I get, to me, it's a very like West Wing TV show-esque belief in the world. Like if Mark Lamont Hill just gave one good speech, it would all be better. It's like, no, it's a TV show, man. I need you to stay, I need you to, what was it? Yeah. Edwards to like, oh yeah, I saw that. He was just like, damn Edwards to do, man.
00:23:47 Jordan: Yeah, first of all, he's literally the last NBA, not last, maybe the second last NBA player I ever want to hear talk about this type of issue. I'm like, I'll hold you, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, they think they asked the wrong guy the question. Compared to what he, what he could have said, that was about as good as it was going to get.
00:24:04 Darius: Yeah, you know, I'd say all the time, like, think about, one of the five dumbest conversations you ever had in your life. They were all with athletes, like, you know, right?
00:24:18 Jordan: Athletes, you don't want these dudes speaking and street Like, that's just what it is, man.
00:24:24 Darius: I just, I get, look, Stephen A. Smith, obviously I disagree with him on a lot of things, but I just, what bothers me is this, especially amongst black progressives when they act like, it's like when people were like freaking out about Chris Broussard's false equivalence tweet and it's like, have you never met a black religious person? Like, are we going to pretend, are we really going to pretend that Troussard holds atypical views amongst Baptist Christians, because.
00:24:54 Jordan: Listen, black people, like I always say personally, I always say black people are homophobia, white people are racism. That's a joke, but you know.
00:25:03 Darius: I always say is that.
00:25:04 Jordan: I will say that the time ago that tweet was horrible, and the comparison he made was obviously insanely obtuse.
00:25:10 Darius: Yeah, I always say all the time. black people in general are more liberal than white people in general. But black Democrats are more conservative than white Democrats. And that's just true. Like if you look at all of our voting patterns, like black Democrats are the moderating force within the Democratic Party. But, you know, every so often there's like a silent pact amongst like black Southern religious voters. and white liberals in Brooklyn to just not talk about LGBT issues because?
00:25:46 Jordan: Basically, that's really, that's where the divide is. That's where they disagree.
00:25:51 Darius: Black people are, there's a strong strain of social conservatism amongst the black Democrats, specifically black religious Southern voters. And what Chris Broussard said is not atypical. And if you go home for Thanksgiving, you hear it too.
00:26:06 Jordan: No, about to say if you, because if you were to add, if you're black and in the South, your grandmother probably feels the same way. Go to a barber shop.
00:26:13 Darius: You're not like, yeah, well that too.
00:26:14 Jordan: Yeah, of course.
00:26:16 Darius: You know, I got, ask Deon Sanders if men can get pregnant and report back to me what he says.
00:26:23 Jordan: Right.
00:26:25 Darius: We just like to pretend this isn't a thing because it doesn't fit our like black.
00:26:29 Jordan: People say I'm pretty sure Deon's a Trump supporter from I've heard that he's a Trump supporter. So, you know, Trump.
00:26:34 Darius: Gains against all minority voters in 2024. It shatters a lot of Democratic world voters worldviews because they like to think that people of color are just liberal by default. But it's just not my experience. Like I, the overwhelming majority of black people vote for Democrats, but that doesn't mean they're liberal, especially on social issues. Like that's where you're going to get the big divide. And I saw Chris Broussard's tweet and I was like terribly timed.
00:27:08 Jordan: I had to read it a few times because the way he worded it was so terrible.
00:27:10 Darius: But he's the one, LZ Granderson was an openly gay Basketball writer for ESPN. It's like Chris Bussard wrote an article like 20 years ago. It was, you know, this was before the Great Awakening where he was like, I played basketball with him. I dap him up, but I hate his lifestyle. Oh yeah, I think I remember that.
00:27:28 Jordan: I think.
00:27:29 Darius: So like it wasn't even like.
00:27:31 Jordan: You know, he said a few things like that publicly.
00:27:33 Darius: Yeah, he's a he's a he's quite devout. There's a strong tension between. religious people in LGBT issues and that often sometimes bubbles through the surface because I mean, I'm not a religious person myself, but I read quite a few religious texts and they're quite explicit in their anti LGBT.
00:27:56 Jordan: Yes, ideology.
00:27:58 Darius: So There's a strike. I think what a lot of, a lot of liberals think religious people are just like pretending or true, like they, don't believe that, like they believe that stuff. But a lot of people just have genuine belief in their religious teachings. And if they do?
00:28:12 Jordan: Yeah, about to say, yeah. black people are, well, I'll say religious people can be present as loving until you mentioned certain groups, which is part of how we got to where we are today.
00:28:26 Darius: Well, it's just, you see it with Pro-life, pro-choice people, like pro-choice people think pro-life people are like running like some game. They're like, oh, you don't, you just want women barefoot and you just want this and that. And it's like, no, man, they're just genuinely, they're just genuinely religious. And if you genuinely believe God created all life and life begins at conception, then it just stands to reason that you'll be pro-life. Like that's honestly the most coherent logical view in the conservative thing that I can think of.
00:28:58 Jordan: That's the thing, because I find those same people to also be, anti assistance for those the children that are would then be born who maybe whose parents did not are not able to provide for them. So it's how much pro how pro-life are you? Or is it just or is it just once the baby's born, then it's cool and then whatever happens, happens. **** it.
00:29:20 Darius: Well, I mean, those people we're talking about genuine believers. Those people usually run churches where they provide all those kinds of services. They just don't believe the government should provide those services. But they like, if you've ever talked to like a real pro-lifer, they genuinely believe it's murder. And if you genuinely believe that millions of babies are being murdered every year, then nothing else in politics would matter for you. Sure, I'll vote for Donald Trump. He's the one who's not going to be murdering babies. Like, I may disagree with that. And I do disagree with that, but it's not incoherent. It makes sense to me. Like, just if you genuinely believe that God creates all life, yeah. I mean, I don't, but that makes more sense to me than some of the gun laws. that makes more sense to me than, making health.
00:30:06 Jordan: That's what we're doing. That's the thing. Cause it's like, oh, you're pro-life. Oh, but, and, you know, until it fringes upon your second amendment rights, which it actually doesn't, you know.
00:30:17 Darius: I mean, I think a lot of like the worst was what about?
00:30:20 Jordan: Like they're pro-life unless it comes to a school shooting. That's cool though. 00:30:23 D
