[00:00:00]JordanJust head to hand, I like my chances.
[00:00:01]DariusJust fight. Like I always say, like the strangers, if me and my girl are in the woods and I look out and it's one dude and two girls, I'm like, hey, babe, boil some water. I'm gonna go get the bats. We go, we go, as soon as they walk in, I need you to throw that hot *** water on him. And we just go, we going to fight.
[00:00:18]JordanWe're gonna figure it out.
[00:00:19]DariusWe gotta sit here and wait on them to come in and kill us. Like that's stupid.
[00:00:22]JordanAt some point you gotta go on the offensive.
[00:00:25]DariusGrab some pots and pans, cut up all the lights. We got knives in here. The kitchen is full of weapons. If you just welcome to Out the Trump with Jordan and Darius. My name is Darius. That's Steve's I love me area on all socials.
[00:00:36]JordanAnd I'm Jordan. That's Jordan B. Riding on all socials.
[00:00:40]DariusThis is our segment we like to call. This is a segment we've titled What's on our Mind. It's officially titled where we let you guys know what's on our mind, what's going on in the world, things that we're talking about, curiosity, such and such. Starting off, this episode is releasing on 1030. Not going to let you guys know when we actually recorded it, but election day is Tuesday, federal election. Get out to vote. Let your voice be heard. Generally speaking, we, you know, like to keep it light here, but every so often, you know, the real world collides with it. So definitely get out there and make yourself be heard.
[00:01:12]JordanYes, it is important. It does matter, especially in the local level, state level, your kids, school districts, all that kind of stuff. That stuff really doesn't matter. Don't believe whatever you were told or whatever you think you believe in terms that you're too insignificant to make a difference. That is ********.
[00:01:30]Darius100%. Also, there's several options on the ballot that are nonpartisan. So you can actually like just Google, you know, this nonpartisan ballot. Where should who's endorsed by who and you can tell which line they run on from there. So you can print yourself a sample ballot out, fill it out at home so you know what to do. I know everyone thinks they know everything, but it can be a bit nerve-wracking in there. So if you can practice ahead of time and don't feel bad if you have to do that.
[00:02:00]JordanAnd even like when you're in there and you're like, he wants to vote for, you're like, wait, just want to make sure that I have the right buttons. So I don't. It's nerve wracking, man. You're like, our future depends on it.
[00:02:12]DariusSo yeah, if I get out there, you can check your voter registry. They'll tell you where to go.
[00:02:17]JordanCorrect.
[00:02:18]DariusI have, I go, I go early. By the time this airs, I've already gone. I'm usually in and out in 20 minutes.
[00:02:24]JordanSo yeah, for real **** ***. It's in my clubhouse. It's right there. They give you the pamphlets and stuff so you can kind of read what side you're on and stuff like that. I'd also recommend like Googling keywords based on party lines. Sometimes it sounds like it's something that's beneficial to you and it's really, really not. So just make sure to do that as well.
[00:02:43]DariusYeah, it's just, there's a lot of fear mongering about how hard it is to vote. I think oftentimes people who I tend to agree with on other things almost self-defeat themselves by talking about how terrible voting is and how hard it is, and it can become discouraging for people. So I like to tell people that I never had a hard time voting. I just show up.
[00:03:03]JordanNo, it's actually really simple.
[00:03:04]DariusIt's really simple. So, you know, just go.
[00:03:07]JordanIt's like getting a movie ticket, literally. It's about the same amount of time.
[00:03:12]DariusSpeaking of movies, like if you wait for snacks in a movie line, it's just like that. Like it's like, Your eyes are just moving. Okay. But once it's over, you're like, I got my snacks and you're done and 20 minutes and you're good to go. So yes, absolutely.
[00:03:25]JordanAnd also, again, not to be too heavy, but people really fought and died for us to be able to even step in that line in the 1st place. And that means something. And we owe our ancestor that ancestors that 100%.
[00:03:36]DariusThat is not one ounce of hyperbole is actually true. And you do owe it to them. And so I'm unequivocal about that. So yeah, get on vote. So keeping with that theme, this is releasing on 1030, which means tomorrow is Halloween. So we got a couple of Halloween esque questions, kind of sort of to keep things interesting, keep it on theme. So my first topic, a couple of questions on it, but we're going to start with Which horror movie do you think you would survive?
[00:04:12]JordanYeah, that's tough because it really depends on the situation and where I'm at and who I'm associated with. Do I know the people that are the targets? You know what I mean? I feel like in horror movies it's usually just like, which, are you close with white people or not? Yeah, my answer is like, dependent.
[00:04:32]DariusThat is true.
[00:04:33]JordanSo I jotted down, because it's funny, because I have some movies written down here. And there's some movies where you could make the case for literally both, depending on what you're doing. So for Scream, I wrote I'd survive because I ain't going to be in no white girl's house like that in the 90s. You know what I'm saying? And if she got a bunch of murder around her and **** I'm really not going to be around her. So there's that. Michael Myers, me and him, we have no smoke. I did not. I didn't know his mama. You know what I'm saying? I'm sorry. She was a ******. And I know his sister was trying to *** **** while he was she was supposed to come out trick-or-treating. That he got to do with me. So I'm good. Also, I can run and I'm fast. So he's not catching me. We have footage. We do have footage. We do have footage. I'm like that for real.
[00:05:16]DariusSee them win a foot race and the next week he was cartwheeling in pools. I might have the week switched up, but there's evidence of that. is real.
[00:05:24]JordanYes. I also wrote that I would survive the movie Birds, the old Alfred Hitchcock movie.
[00:05:30]DariusI haven't seen that one.
[00:05:31]JordanIt's literally like just birds just attacking the **** out of people. Like imagine like the pterodactyl scene from Jurassic World where they just start scooping people up and dropping them in the ocean with the big swimming dinosaur type **** that but just with massive crows essentially. And I'm just gonna sit in the house so that they're not getting me. Those are some movies that I would survive. Which ones would you survive?
[00:05:57]DariusI have here. It's not a movie. It's a video game slash TV show, but the last of us. Caveat being if you're in a population center, you're cooked. Like if you know, if you were it's just, there's nothing you can do. But if you're like at least in a suburb and you survive like the first wave, I had to think that I would be pretty good at surviving like the, after the first wave, like the post-apocalyptic, I would call it like the Jackson commune. I'd have probably been pretty good about surviving that once you get to doing the patrols and staying disciplined and so on and so forth. It's also like my favorite, this kind of like my latest obsession is like that. It's one of my favorite like worlds ever built in video gaming history. And so I don't know, it just kind of fit in that way. Which horror movie would kill me first? Statistically, all of them. Right. But I like I have down here Freddy Krueger, I forget Nightmare on Elm String, I think is what it's called. Mostly because I don't know how anyone survived like the dude literally haunting your dreams. So yeah. And I sleep like a rock. So it would be, it'd be over for me. So which one would you be out of here in short order?
[00:07:18]JordanSo first of all, I just saw your Instagram or text you sent me like a little while ago. I was working on stuff. Rest in peace. One of the guys who was in final decision destination literally just like died. And then it was like, he'd survived all these like near-death experiences. And it's crazy because that was the first movie that I wrote down, which I would die because it's just so many random deaths. I can't protect myself against all those things, you know?
[00:07:41]DariusI was reading the list of **** that he beat before the, we won't identify it, but I was like, damn, what did you do? Are you running from death? Literally.
[00:07:53]JordanThat's like some Deathly Hallows type ****. What the ****?
[00:07:56]DariusIt was like you got out of a burning car the week before. I'm like, all right now.
[00:08:00]JordanYeah, I'm like, bro, whoa. Did you find a Ouija board as a child? Like, what? How does that happen? What is going on, man?
[00:08:06]DariusRIP, though, man. That's a terrible idea.
[00:08:07]JordanRest in peace for real, for that's awful.
[00:08:09]DariusBut I just was like, I was reading that like, damn, that is final decision.
[00:08:12]JordanIf you said it to me and I read the **** I'm like, I don't even have time to deal with this right now. I'm waiting for the podcast. I was like, what? Let's see. Sinners, I'm probably out of here because I'm going to be in a juke drunk party in my *** off and I wouldn't be paying attention to ****. And also if.
[00:08:32]DariusYou've been in that moonshine. Yeah, man.
[00:08:34]JordanI'd have been, I'd been, I'd have been out there.
[00:08:37]DariusYou ain't think about it. Think about what's happening outside.
[00:08:41]JordanI'd have been out there with trying to be in that closet with Pearling or Annie or Who's the other one? Oh my God, I'm blanking. ****. I'm tripping. But yeah, no, but any of the three women leads, I'd have been trying to spend some time with them that night.
[00:09:02]DariusSo on my bucket list of things to do is a juke joint in some podunk southern town. That just looks like a great time.
[00:09:10]JordanYeah, you'll be in there hitting the murder man.
[00:09:14]DariusYes, 100%. I look a damn fool trying it, but I'm gonna get it done.
[00:09:20]JordanYeah, I got about 60% of it. Yes, I'd be in there with sinners and I'd be in there partying and I wouldn't be paying attention either. You know what I'm saying? I mean, maybe it would have been safe because I'd have been, I'm like, hold you. Cornbread was out there, you know, playing bouncer. His wife was like that. I'd have been. Somebody, she also slept on because everybody talks about all the pretty girls in that movie and everybody just like leaves her out and I'm like, yo, dog, to look that fine while playing a slave in the field is ridiculous.
[00:09:48]DariusTo be fair, she's in the movie all of five minutes.
[00:09:51]JordanThat is also true.
[00:09:52]DariusThat is also true. A lot of people just forgot she was in the movie.
[00:09:54]JordanThat's true.
[00:09:57]DariusMost people didn't see it three times like us.
[00:09:59]JordanYeah, that is also true. Yeah, so sinners, I'm probably out of here. I'm trying to think. I'd survive weapons because I know how to avoid crazy looking people. So that lady wouldn't go have ****. I wouldn't be near her. She wouldn't get to me.
[00:10:16]DariusAlso, both of us would have just checked the ring cameras right away. Like, hey, the kids disappeared. There's everyone has a ring camera. Can you look at them?
[00:10:23]JordanEveryone has a ring camera.
[00:10:24]DariusOh, they all ran through the house.
[00:10:25]JordanYeah, let's triangulate. You know, it's pretty simple. If you see 50 kids running through the street like this.
[00:10:31]DariusYeah, you would think someone would have checked the ring camera by like the first 5 minutes.
[00:10:36]JordanI think they should have said that movie in like the 80s. I think they would have made it a little more potent.
[00:10:40]DariusThey should have. Yeah, that ending was trashed because the room was phenomenal with the ending sucked. It was just, and I'm not even an ending has to be great person, but it at least has to tie the like it together and it just never did. They just took the lady off and moved on.
[00:10:57]JordanYeah. What was the one we reviewed last Halloween? You're next.
[00:11:02]DariusSleepy Hallow. Oh, you're next.
[00:11:04]JordanI'd have survived that because half them would have survived. They just ducked.
[00:11:09]DariusAlso just like, any sort of home invasion, like the strangers, just fight back. Yeah, right, They're always just running and I'm like, y'all are men. They might have some weapons. Okay, cool. But they don't have firearms.
[00:11:26]JordanYeah, just hand to hand. I like my chances.
[00:11:28]DariusJust fight. Like I always say, like the strangers, if me and my girl are in the woods and I look out and it's one dude and two girls, I'm like, hey babe, boil some water. I'm gonna go get the bats. We go, we go, as soon as they walk in, I need you to throw that hot *** water on him. And we just go, we going to fight.
[00:11:45]JordanWe're gonna figure it out.
[00:11:47]DariusWe're not gonna sit here and wait on them to come in and kill us. Like that's stupid.
[00:11:50]JordanIt's up when you gotta go on the offensive.
[00:11:52]DariusGrab some pots and pans, cut up all the lights. We got knives in here. Our kitchen is full of weapons if you just are a bit intuitive, you know.
[00:12:00]JordanRight. They're always in a cabinet that has a really nice kitchen too. That's if you notice that. Like, bro, everything you need right there. Yeah, but hit the head with a fire skillet.
[00:12:10]DariusMine sits above my cabinet. So one time I went and grabbed it and it like fell out of my head and it hit like the edge of my head. And man, Ibuprofen, baby. It's, and that was an accident. So imagine swinging with your full force.
[00:12:23]JordanYeah. I almost knocked myself out of the gym. I was doing the, I was on the lat pull down machine and I was sitting backwards facing it so I could do, I don't, whatever it called, where you're behind your back, you know. And I just like zoned out when I was, and I just like, boom. And I was like, well, I'm gonna get up. Hopefully no one saw that.
[00:12:41]DariusIt's, you know, well, yeah, that's dangerous. Don't do that. But yeah, it's like, I can look in my kitchen right now and see four different weapons that I would use if I was in one of those your next movies. These people just run and wait to be killed and that's stupid. They do.
[00:12:59]JordanAnd it's funny. That's a note I wrote as well is like, well, I guess you had a question about are we too harsh on the characters in horror movies? Are they or are they actually stupid?
[00:13:09]DariusYeah, it's just basically we all call them stupid and it's just like, are we unfair to them?
[00:13:15]JordanI think there's something to both. I think because for one, if you're in a high stress situation, you've never been in before, your adrenaline's going crazy, this is not like an argument. This is not normal conflict. This isn't a bar fight. Someone's trying to kill you. Like when was the last time someone was in your house trying to kill you? Hopefully never. You know what I mean?
[00:13:31]DariusAnd you're going from a position of calm, watching TV and sleep, and you're defending yourself against someone who's been hyping them. Like their adrenaline is high already. And you have to get to their adrenaline level and meet their level of violence. And that's just a lot harder than people think.
[00:13:47]JordanCorrect. It's comfortable, you're in your pajamas, you hear the voice.
[00:13:50]DariusThey don't call ahead of time and be like, hey, in 30 minutes we're pulling up. They just, they're just there. And you have to in an instant assess the situation and get to their level.
[00:14:00]JordanAnd that's the way to prepare for that. So yeah, that's tricky. I will say one common theme in a lot of horror movies is I find that the key to survival is literally this simple. Minding your business. There's so many times in horror movies where it's like, people were like, oh, I heard a noise. Let me go in the woods and see what, or like, you know, like Jeepers Creepers where they like saw that weird dude and they just kept like poking around and then he killed him. You know, like it's just, if you just like mind your business in a horror movie, not 10, you're gonna be okay. Like the kids who go into the haunted house. I don't know, man. Maybe don't go in the house on Halloween.
[00:14:35]DariusI don't even go into the like the, trend of the haunted house excursions. Not my thing. I'm not really into that, but.
[00:14:43]JordanYeah, we can do a hayride. We can do a fall festival.
[00:14:46]DariusApple picking. Dope. Great time.
[00:14:48]JordanYeah, for sure. Pumpkin patch.
[00:14:49]Darius100 bucks for a bag of apples. You can get the grocery store for eight, but it's about the experience. Correct. Yeah, exactly. No, I guess. I'm with you. I have it out here. We overestimate our ability to think calm in a crisis, but there is some decision making that you'll be 20 minutes into the movie long after you've known. One of my biggest ones, like I just said earlier, is the strangers where it's like they never, just they never went on the offense. And it's like, you know, you have home court advantage. You know, you have to. At some point you have to understand that these people are here to kill us. And Either we're going to make that easy for them or we're going to make that hard for them.
[00:15:33]JordanRight.
[00:15:34]DariusIf they win, they win. That's fine. They're going to do it anyway. But at least make it hard, you know. Yeah, for sure. Just don't sit there and get killed. Just doesn't make any sense to me.
[00:15:45]JordanYeah.
[00:15:47]DariusYou want to head into your next topic.
[00:15:49]JordanYeah. So I got some Halloween do's and don'ts for the people out here. Yeah. So the first don't is actually, you would think I wouldn't say this, but Again, if you have to question if your makeup is too dark and could be perceived as blackface, just don't do it. Also, don't do blackface. There's that too. That's a big don't. If you're doing group costumes, don't have the black friend be an animal. Remember that when you're that. Remember that when you had the black girl piece Scooby-Doo. What?
[00:16:22]DariusHow disconnected are you from blackness that you thought you were going to be the dog? Like there's nothing wrong with going out with an all white crew. Like sometimes it just happens. I get that. I'm not judging you for that. Like you saw nothing wrong with being the dog.
[00:16:35]JordanAbout the fact that they had you. Right.
[00:16:38]DariusI just would love to know your what your thought process. You know.
[00:16:42]JordanYeah. It's like, or even like, there's like a lot of couples content on the internet. And there's interracial couple content. And then there's the other side where it gets real, I don't have the word for it. I don't know, minstrel show-ish or whatever, you know. And some of those hot costumes can sort of bleed into that if they're not careful. So, you know, heads up. Let's see what else I have here. Oh, yeah, for again, a couple costumes. Those are like my favorite things to see on social media during Halloween, like cute couples costumes, stuff, salt and pepper, you know, Superman and Lois Lane, whatever. But like, Maybe don't do Bobby and Whitney or O.J. and Nicole or Sid and Nancy, you know what I mean?
[00:17:22]DariusOkay, well, Bobby and Whitney, I think can be done tastefully. O.J. and Nicole. That's not the same thing.
[00:17:36]JordanWell, no, I'm not comparing Bobby to, but just like, don't do like, okay, don't do Icantina, you know what I mean?
[00:17:45]DariusOh, yeah, 100%. Don't do Akantina. Don't do. Well, yeah.
[00:17:49]JordanDon't do Rihanna and Chris.
[00:17:50]DariusYou know, if there has been documented domestic violence between the couple, which I guess is Bobby and Whitney, just that, you know, you can just, yeah, if when you put it on.
[00:18:03]JordanMaybe do Whitney and Robin. That might be a safer choice. You know, we all inclusive, baby.
[00:18:12]DariusYeah, you know. I read Robin's biography and she outed Whitney Houston, basically.
[00:18:18]JordanI say, yeah.
[00:18:20]DariusPosthumously out of there. I don't even know. Is that appropriate? I guess neither of us can make that decision, but it feels a bit inappropriate.
[00:18:27]JordanBut I believe so.
[00:18:30]DariusYeah, I have on here regarding costumes. Make your costume recognizable. If I have to Google it, if you have to have a picture with it. It's not the end of the world, but it kind of defeats the purpose if people can't just tell right away what the costume is. And like, it's like, I was the cameraman and saw, it's like, no one knows what that is.
[00:18:51]JordanOh yeah, I saw that, yeah, I saw that.
[00:18:53]DariusI think no one's gonna know what the **** that is.
[00:18:56]JordanCorrect. So those costumes, you make those, like you make a skit on your phone and then you like post those. You don't go out with those because again, if like that's just not. It's hard to read unless you're doing it as a group and then everyone kind of piece together. Oh, you're such and such, you're such and such, you're such and such. That makes sense. But yeah, I agree with you on that one for sure.
[00:19:13]DariusRegarding kids costumes.
[00:19:15]JordanYeah.
[00:19:16]DariusThe costume is for the kid. It's not for you. So no Craig and Day Day. Like that's not your four year old has never seen that movie.
[00:19:24]JordanNever seen Friday.
[00:19:25]DariusYou know, like Halloween is for them. not necessarily, but their night is for them. Trick or treating is for them.
[00:19:34]JordanGet that kid a Spider-Man costume.
[00:19:36]DariusYeah, he wants to be Superman. Like, you know, he wants to be Iron Man. He does not want to be Smokey from Friday. Right.
[00:19:45]JordanThat's not cute looking back in his graduation slideshow.
[00:19:50]DariusSpeaking of kids, make your costume venue appropriate. I have no problem with sexy nurse costumes or devil costumes. Why are you wearing that down to the school for your kids event?
[00:20:04]JordanRight.
[00:20:05]DariusThat's for Saturday night on Glenwood. That's not for the neighborhood block party. Right.
[00:20:10]JordanDon't go as Dexter's mom to or Miss Elastic or Elastigirl to the thing.
[00:20:17]DariusThere's a costume for the neighborhood block party where you know, I guess kids don't trick or treat anymore. They just kind of like Keep them in the neighborhood and they go to door to door.
[00:20:25]JordanYeah. And the trunk or treats are big now, too.
[00:20:27]DariusThat's a costume for that. And there's a costume for the function.
[00:20:31]JordanCorrect.
[00:20:32]DariusYou can wear this one to the function, but you can't wear the function costume to the neighborhood.
[00:20:36]JordanNo, no, no, no, no. One has flexibility. One does not.
[00:20:39]DariusCorrect. You know, I've seen some some costumes at gatherings where children are, and I'm like, you know, you're wrong for that. I appreciate it. There are children here. Let's, save it. Like, we are going out. Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those. We too over this. No, you go out on Halloween. Have a great time. But like there's a costume for the daytime and there's like 10 o'clock, the flip switches and we can do the evening costumes, you know?
[00:21:12]JordanCorrect. Yeah, that's a good one. Oh, also don't Halloween on an empty stomach. Make sure to eat something heavy, preferably protein. and rice or something before you go out there and Halloween to your best ability, because you'll pay for it the next two days in November.
[00:21:31]DariusAlso eat before you put on the costume, trying to eat with a costume on, pain in the ***. It's a little logistical, you know?
[00:21:39]JordanYeah, make sure you can text and like use your phone and stuff in your costume, **** like that. I remember I went to Miles Morales one year and I had to have, I was at the bar and I had to have them like cut the fingertips off some of the gloves so I could use my phone.
[00:21:50]DariusAlso props. Bouncers is not going to let you in with a shield and a sword. Leave that in the car. No bouncer worth his ***. Yeah. You argue with him and you're dead wrong. You can't come into the club with a sword. You know you can't. Like just leave it in the car.
[00:22:06]JordanIf your uniform has any sort of weaponry, especially that look real, do not walk around with those, please. Especially if you look like us. Come on, y'all.
[00:22:14]DariusYou know, You have to plan for the world you live in, not the one you wish existed. Correct. Yeah. Can't be walking around with toy firearms after hours or period. But generally it's a really bad idea. Yeah.
[00:22:31]JordanYou want to make sure everybody feels safe and the rainbow costume might be cool, but keep the just wear the vest to the party or to the downtown **** and then leave the props in the car.
[00:22:42]DariusDo be a good sport about it. I'm not even a person that dresses up, but just don't be a Grinch. Like have fun. Even if the costume is stupid, tell them it looks great. Pretend like if they're explaining something and you don't get it, just pretend you do. Just play along, be a good sport. It's one night a year where, well, it's one of the few nights a year where adults just get to dress up and be silly and just go along with it.
[00:23:06]JordanRight, exactly. That's the appeal of Comic-Con and stuff.
[00:23:10]DariusYeah, 100%. You know, I've seen situations where someone is explaining the costume to me. I mean, see how it was. Someone would explain the costume to me and I didn't know what the **** they were talking about, but I was like, man, that **** fire. Yeah. Oh, it looked just like the movie. What movie was that? Oh, I did see that. And just, you know, they might even know you ************ but it's just like one of those things that's just a social contract. So right. Keeping with that. You have any other ones?
[00:23:34]JordanI think that's all I had for that. topic, at least from what I wrote down. You got anything else?
[00:23:42]DariusNo, I didn't. I think we covered all of the bases there. So somewhat horror related, but kind of not. We're kind of stretching the definition here a little bit, but conspiracy theory rankings. So I gave you 4 categories. Aliens, kind of self-explanatory, historical mystery, government conspiracy, unexplained experience, your favorite one of these conspiracies and which rank them by how much you actually believe them to be true. So start with #4.
[00:24:11]JordanWhatever you want.
[00:24:13]DariusSo it's your category, your favorite in each, and then you rank them by which is least believable to most believable.
[00:24:20]JordanOkay, so unexplained disappearance, I think, was it the one Amelia Earhart was lost in like the Bermuda Triangle or something like that? one's pretty funny. Next for government, I think it's, as I say, the crack epidemic was imposed by the government.
[00:24:45]DariusIt was no fault when Reagan gave me the visuals.
[00:24:48]JordanYeah. History, historical conspiracy, I'd say that Walt Disney is like frozen at Disney World, like his body is frozen at Disney World, or is it just his head? One of the two. I think maybe his, but his corpse is like frozen at Disney World. There's a theory that it's frozen somewhere underground there.
[00:25:09]DariusBut I can see it.
[00:25:11]JordanYeah. And then the alien-esque one or whatever. I'd say probably, there's a theory that maybe the dinosaurs actually didn't have scales. They had feathers. I think that's pretty cool, the idea of a T-Rex just having feathers and looking like Big Bird.
[00:25:36]DariusI think that's actually confirmed that dinosaurs had feathers. And basically, I don't know about all, but basically all popular depictions of them are just wrong. They all look like big.
[00:25:48]JordanYeah. Which I think is actually pretty ******* dope. My favorite of those four, I'd have to say The idea of the government moving weight, it's pretty funny. I find it. Yeah, well, that's the thing. Cause like a lot of, so a lot of the historical and government conspiracies that we've kind of been inundated with are like things that they would do or have done or could do to us from a cultural perspective. And none of that is unbelievable because of what they've done to us. So it's like, you know.
[00:26:27]DariusI'd be getting on black folks for being conspiratorial, but I am. I am a bit empathetic and understanding because our history reads like a conspiracy theory.
[00:26:36]JordanYeah, imagine if you took an alien, no pun intended, came down here, and you were like, hey, so these white men went to another continent, took people from there, tripped them with their name, their language, their culture, their religion, their music, everything, brought them to another land, enslaved them, changed everything about them, told them about this thing called Christianity. while they were doing the most heinous things ever to them, and then told them that they were the problem once they got free, that they were lazy, that they were dirty, that they were all these things. The alien would be like, but it's not true. And history shows that everything, that they are the bad guys.
[00:27:17]DariusAnd be like, after the fact, after all of that, when it was time for them to vote, they were like, you can vote if you can guess how many beans are in this jar.
[00:27:24]JordanRight.
[00:27:26]DariusThey made you guess the beans. Yes, literally, the beans. Like if you showed them a literacy test to vote, you'd be like, this is, that's not true. Ranking from least likely to most likely, I have government conspiracy here. I don't believe MLK was having all them affairs. If they had the goods, they'd let us know.
[00:27:47]JordanYou think that was the CIA? I just I kind of I'm with you, but I think he was cheating. I don't think it was as rampant as they act like it was.
[00:27:56]DariusI mean, to the extent that any prominent, high social capital man is confined to cheat. Sure. But just why don't we have like, we would have the goods by now?
[00:28:10]JordanWe'd have the CIA photos and the.
[00:28:12]DariusPhotos, the tapes, he was one of the most surveilled men on planet Earth.
[00:28:17]JordanYeah.
[00:28:17]DariusAnd we haven't seen anything. It just doesn't strike me as Like that's why habit is least because it's entirely believable that a very prominent high social capital man who traveled A lot.
[00:28:28]JordanTraveled A lot.
[00:28:29]DariusIt's like that's why it's least.
[00:28:30]JordanThere's no cell phones, you know, it's.
[00:28:33]DariusBut if it came out that J. Edgar Hoover was just planting this **** I'd believe it too.
[00:28:37]JordanWell, he's one of the worst humans of all time. So absolutely.
[00:28:41]DariusSecond from the bottom, historical. Yeah, I got here. Yeah, historical mystery. It's called the Lost Colony of Roanoke, Virginia, but it's actually located in Outer Banks. It's basically this established settlement in the 1500s that just disappeared. And no one ever knows why. They said it was a settlement and then the people who came behind them went to them and like the whole settlement was taken down. And there was just like one word written on a tree, I guess, that said like Croatian, or at least by today's pronunciation, who knows what they actually meant. And it's never been explained. And it's like, it couldn't have been a fire. It couldn't have been a military occupation because there'd be dead bodies. There'd be nothing to that. And the working theory is that they just split up and assimilated into some native tribe. And they just, they just, you know, were lost to history. They just went and joined another tribe, which is entirely possible in the 1500s. So next up, unexplained disappearance. The most famous one in true crime is Maura Murray. Lady. I forget the city, but she was just driving in this remote area and in a 10 minute window. Well, she crashed her car and then she found someone and she called for help. And then 10 minutes later, she vanished without a trace. And no one ever is explaining that like it was snowing. And so like there's a couple of theories that maybe she just walked into the woods and got lost and hypothermia killed her. But 20 years later, we have no bod
