[00:00:00]DariusSo remember when they traded him and Brian Curtis, one of my favorite media reporters, has this thing called the Now They Tell Us report, like when some coach gets fired or some player gets traded, the beat reporters just sort of empty the notebook. Right. they said some things about Jalen Brown. He thinks he's the smartest person in the room, da da da da. And the Twitterati was like, that's coded language. Da da da da da. And like, I believe everything they said. It's funny because Tatum said it.
[00:00:32]JordanTatum did say that this summer. I don't know if you heard that clip or not.
[00:00:36]DariusJalen Brown reminds me of the most annoying co-worker anyone's ever had ever. And so I believe out the trunk with Jordan and Darius. My name is Darius. That's Steve's all up in the area on all socials.
[00:00:47]JordanAnd I'm Jordan that's going to be riding on all socials.
[00:00:50]DariusThis is our segment we've titled What's On Our Mind. We let you guys know what's on our mind, what we've seen on the internet, things we'd like to discuss. You know a team is in a good mood when the social account gets the players to do goofy ****. So I'm totally stealing this idea from the Vikings Instagram account. And so the lady walked around the locker room and had all the players list, you know the bottom of your phone has the four apps. So what are the bottom 4 apps on your home screen?
[00:01:19]JordanSo I actually have three. I took one off.
[00:01:21]DariusOkay.
[00:01:22]JordanBut I got my phone, the phone app, Safari, and my music app.
[00:01:28]DariusInteresting.
[00:01:29]JordanOh wait, I'm tripping. On my home screen, I'm tripping. I thought you meant the little bar at the bottom.
[00:01:36]DariusI did mean the bottle. She means the bottle. Oh yeah, okay.
[00:01:38]JordanYeah, got you. Yeah, I got three. Yeah, music, safari, and my phone.
[00:01:42]DariusNo texting. All right.
[00:01:44]JordanYeah, I moved that because I felt like I just wake up and then you're like, oh, who did I hear from or who do I got to hit back? And it's supposed to take a few minutes to yourself during the day or in the morning. So I kind of, that's a way I force myself to do that.
[00:01:57]DariusI do that by having my phone be dry. cleansing mechanism there. I got the phone app, Google Messages, Google Chrome, and the camera. Okay. So it's, yeah, I mean, that kind of, I think that's actually the stock. But the one I use the least is the camera. Maybe not. It's probably Google Safari because I do a lot of my internet reading on my laptop or desktop. So yeah. So what would you say is your most used app? don't actually you don't have to actually look it up and verify just guess.
[00:02:32]JordanYeah uh either YouTube my music app or probably yeah probably YouTube in my music app maybe TikTok is probably right there too but those two for sure YouTube and music I do a lot uh either Twitter.
[00:02:58]DariusAnd now it would be honestly Google Gemini because I'm in there looking up **** all the time. So I don't have conversations with AI, but like I'm always researching something, trying to program something, you know, editing something, doing things like that. So yeah, easily before recently, up until recently, it was Twitter for sure. And then after that, it would be Google Gemini and then maybe Instagram. I don't know. I kind of Instagram is kind of washed, but that would probably be. Yeah.
[00:03:30]JordanIf I don't have any notifications, I'm not really on there. I mean, I'm on there scrolling just, you know, real ownership. Other than that, I'm not really on there too much.
[00:03:38]DariusWe're not going to beat the dead horse, but the reels are so unoriginal. Like it's just, oh my God.
[00:03:44]JordanAnd I saw him on TikTok 3 weeks ago. So does that.
[00:03:47]DariusOh my goodness, man. How many of the. Waking up on November 1st, leaving Halloween costume ones. Have you seen?
[00:03:54]JordanOh yeah, leaving your, yeah, the one night stand, yeah.
[00:03:57]DariusDude, you know you're the 50th person to do this today. You know, so all right, the next one is pretty straightforward. NBA season is, at this point when you hear this, it'll be in good swing. But it's not too early to get our NBA award predictions out there. So top line award MVP, who do you have?
[00:04:21]JordanMy MVP pick this year, I'm going with, you know what? I'm not a fan of this player, but given the injuries that could potentially derail a season, I think they're going to still do well. I'm going to say Shea wins a third MVP this year after losing Jaylen Williams and Cason Wallace.
[00:04:44]DariusI don't think the voters will give them three in a row. They just They don't really. They don't. They're real stingy about that third one.
[00:04:53]JordanThey're for Bird. Yeah, they won't never **** with Larry Bird's legacy for whatever reason.
[00:04:58]DariusAnd so. I will say Wimby, but Ant is my dark horse for Anthony, which is my dark horse for outside shot. You know, if. If Whimmy doesn't play 65 and Joker looks kind of a little slower and the Nuggets suck.
[00:05:22]JordanYeah, they saying it's they saying he's might be washed.
[00:05:26]DariusNo, he's certainly not washed. It's just that the Nuggets aren't probably won't be good enough. And Giannis looks a little washed. And you know, he's going out like they want to give it to an American. So I got him as my dark horse.
[00:05:39]JordanYeah, that's a good, that's a good pick too. Him and LaMelo, they're hooping. They're fun to watch. I mean, it's early, so we'll see what they actually look like in, you know, in 2030 games from now. But yeah.
[00:05:49]DariusFinally, my rediscovering my joy of the NBA regular season by just following one team. And so I'm going to try to watch every T-Wolves game. Obviously, I won't because there's so there's 80 of them and like, you know, I'm not going to not go out to dinner with friends because the 56th T-Wolves game is on TV. You know, but if I'm home and it's I'm going to watch it and just try to follow a team. Just try to follow one team day-to-day that way. And so that's how I'm trying to re-fall in love with the NBA regular season. So rookie of the year, the big four, Cam Boozer, Caleb Wilson, Darren Peterson and AJ Debansa. Which one you got?
[00:06:31]JordanI got Caleb Wilson. He's ******* hooping right now. He's putting up crazy numbers every night. They're not going to win a lot because of Chicago, unfortunately. But yeah, he's my rookie of the year pick. I also think he's going to be the best of that draft. And ironically, I actually met someone today at a leasing office who used to work at UNC with the athletic program, and they're actually really cool. So we were talking about him. Had a good conversation. Yeah, my pick is Caleb Wilson.
[00:06:58]DariusI agree because AJ DeVance is already hurt. So who even knows if he's going to hit 65? Darren Peterson, there's just so many mouths to feed in Utah. And he's a, he's, that's going to be a tough, his learning curve is steep. I'll put it that way.
[00:07:15]JordanYeah. And he's a weird guy to figure out. I don't know if he loves basketball or not. It's kind of given like Ben Simmons.
[00:07:21]DariusYeah. Caleb Wilson is the, I think Cam Boozer will be the best player of the four, but Caleb Wilson is like the perfect blend of skill and opportunity. And I mean, it's just him. He's crazy in Chicago. So he's going to get up 25 shots tonight. And you know, I think you don't want young players to slip into bad habits on bad team, but I do think it's good to be able to spread your wings a little bit. And so, yeah, so that's where I'm going with that one. DPOI, Defensive Player of the Year, who, well, let's non-Wimby edition. If Wimby doesn't win, the only way he doesn't win is if he doesn't play 65 games.
[00:08:01]JordanYeah, so I'm trying to think.
[00:08:04]DariusWant me to go first?
[00:08:07]JordanYeah, you go first. Yeah.
[00:08:09]DariusI've got one of the Thompson twins. That **** was crazy. And no 6 foot seven person **** already to block Wimby.
[00:08:19]JordanSeriously, what the ****?
[00:08:21]DariusI think with Fred Van Vleet back, he doesn't really have to handle the ball anymore. And he can just play defense and miss jumpers like he's born to do, you know? So it's not a test all around player award.
[00:08:35]JordanYeah, it reminds me of a, remember that Charles Barkley quote about DeAndre Jordan? If you locked him in the gym overnight and said no dunk, he'd have six points.
[00:08:46]DariusYeah, I think the Asar has whichever one more offensive skills. I'm in Houston. I'll use the rocket one is what I'm talking about. He has a bit more on ball. We'll call it dexterity. Yeah, but the one in Detroit, man, he might as well have come back up the court, stay back, play four or five. You just stay down there.
[00:09:10]JordanAnd be an alien on defense, man.
[00:09:12]DariusThat's it. We really don't need you on this side of the ball.
[00:09:15]JordanYeah, they need hockey rule. They need hockey substitutions for him on defense and offense.
[00:09:21]DariusIt's rough. But it's funny though, because both of his parents, both of their parents are short. And like, what are the odds? Yeah, I don't understand that. Would birth 6 foot 7 freakishly athletic twins. I don't get it.
[00:09:33]JordanI don't understand.
[00:09:34]DariusGenetics are weird, man.
[00:09:35]JordanYeah, like KD, how? That doesn't make any sense.
[00:09:40]DariusYeah, man, I'm just trying to, for a couple of years I was out on the NBA regular season. I always been around for the playoffs, but it's just, I bought the league pass this year and it's just kind of cool to, you know, tanking's kind of been legislated out and so teams are trying and, you know, talk to me again in February, see how I feel about it. But so far, so good. Yeah, so I was really all I got for that one. Do you have any other ones?
[00:10:06]JordanYeah, the Thompson twin is it's a good pick. I'd That'd be my pick too, but I don't want to like copycat. I'd say I'm trying to think. It feels like the day the day of like the defensive big is kind of over. Is it just me or?
[00:10:24]DariusIt usually goes to a big, but you know, it's just it depends.
[00:10:30]JordanI mean, maybe like.
[00:10:35]DariusIf they could.
[00:10:39]JordanI thought that too. Yeah, you know, so yeah, I really do. Honestly, the reason I feel like because someone made a point they were like, I feel like it feels like no one cares about the Miami trade. It's like, yeah, because Johannes waited five years to do to make the decision. It's kind of over now.
[00:10:56]DariusYeah, and just he waited too long. He's, in his early 30s and there's nothing left on the team and it's like, correct. how much am I supposed to care about this? He hasn't, right. He hasn't. Since right since he won a championship.
[00:11:16]JordanThat was it. Yeah.
[00:11:17]DariusThat was Joe Biden's president, you know, like.
[00:11:20]JordanYeah, man, like really.
[00:11:21]DariusNot long ago, you know, we didn't even know each other with last time. Like, well, we met each other that time.
[00:11:26]JordanWe met during that playoff round.
[00:11:27]DariusBut like, it's just, that's how long it's been. So like, dude, get out of the first round and check back on me before I start getting invested into you again.
[00:11:36]JordanYeah.
[00:11:37]DariusSpeaking of people who have fallen. Your topic, self-awareness. I don't have a good transition for that one. I was trying to tie it into Giannis, but couldn't figure out a way to do it.
[00:11:47]JordanNo, it's all good. So this topic is actually coming from a personal situation that happened recently. I was at work, making a visit for work, and I was dropping some stuff off to a property, and they were like, hey, do you have any pens or anything like that? I get merchant stuff to give to people. And I was like, let me check. I was like, no, I don't have any of those, but I do have some stuff I can give you. So I went back to the car and I grabbed a couple of little, items, whatever, cool nifty things that people in the office would use. And then I had like a couple goodie bags that I had pre-made, whatever. And so I give them both to the ladies in the office. And there's in my work line of work, there's you can kind of read the dynamics of an office pretty quickly. There's not a good cop, bad cop, but there's the one that's like the personality that the residents love and all that. And then there's a other person and you're just like, I guess you're probably just really good at your job, maybe. I don't know, I assume. And so I'm there and I hand him the goodie bags and the nice, the nice girl is like, oh, see, I told you he was really nice. Implying that they had some conversation where the other person like thought I wasn't nice. And I'm like, nothing. Yeah, right. And it's also like, lady, nothing about you gives off like inviting or friendly or anything. And it's like, yo, do you see how you come off to people at all? So it just got me thinking about like self-awareness because it's just really funny because I was unaware that I came off to that way, you know, so that's on me too, I guess. But also like, I know why I didn't overly engage with that person because of their demeanor. They just had the RBF and I've been in that office multiple times. No, smile and wave, no speaking, no just head down at work. Like, you know what I mean? So just really funny to me, like just a complete lack of awareness as to why someone would maybe not want to talk to you.
[00:13:42]DariusYeah, it's one of those things where if you ever have somebody that you kind of like you're your friends with and then they talk to you about something and you're like, man, that sounds crazy. And then they talk to you about something else. You're like, that sounds crazy. And about the three or fourth one, you're like, all right, how do you keep? I had to have it today. Like you're falling out with a new person every three business days. Why? How does this keep? I haven't fallen out with somebody in years. How do you keep, you know? Yeah, it's. Everyone else is the problem is usually, as the kids say, a giant red flag. Because ultimately, if you can't, even if it's just like the falling out, if you can't just like exit a friendship amiably, then that's also like you don't have to. You don't have to. Everything's a crash out block. Don't talk to me again. Right. That's quite immature. Like sometimes things, you know, people, you just don't talk to them anymore. But it's right. Yeah, people know. I mean, it I'm amazed at how little self-awareness people have. And it's like socials are making it worse because, you know, it's all you. Someone made the point. It was like it used to be the case that you'd watch TV and in between stuff you'd get an ad and now everything is just an ad. And so like everything you see on Instagram is an ad. And so it is tailored specifically to you and to you kind of Yeah, it kind of colors how people view the world. And, you know, it makes a lot of self-indulgent people who lack self-awareness. So let me ask you this. Has there ever been a time where you had you lacked self-awareness and then it was brought to you and you were like, okay, this is what I should change that or something of that sort?
[00:15:41]JordanYeah, for sure. Yeah. A couple of times. I remember, It was a job I had years ago and it was a call to the job, so it was just beep, beep, beep, calls from back-to-back to back. So I'm just very much tunnel vision when it comes to my work and things. I'm focused on getting done. And we had somebody like new who was chatting with another person in my little pod area. And I just didn't have time to talk because I was working, you know? And I mean, I think I turned around and said hello, my name or whatever. I mean, I probably could have spoken more. But they were like, they normally actually became really good friends. And they were like, when I first met you, I thought you were rude or stuck up, whatever. And I was like, why? And she was like, because she didn't talk to me. And I was like, okay, do you get it now though? And she's like, I absolutely understand now. But I still would like, I guess I probably could have still, looking back, I could have been more, sacrificed a little more of my work time to ingratiate myself with the person. I think another example was, trying to think, This was like really young. I was like in my early 20s, so still trying to figure out like how to talk to girls and stuff like that. And someone just kind of pulled me to the side and was like, hey, you need to like temper your delivery a little bit. You can be a little too direct, I guess. And I was like, they were like, you're not being offensive, but they can take it that way because they don't know you. And I was like, okay, yeah, I got what you're saying. So that was definitely an eye opener for sure.
[00:17:08]DariusThe most glaring example for me is I used to I used to be the ******* atheist guy. Yeah. And I'm just not there anymore. I was listening to a crack.com podcast with Jason Pargins, and he was talking about I think it was about the loneliest epidemic. It was like five or six years ago. And he just mentioned like, you know, people, people who don't regularly attend church don't realize that, like, the religious part is almost, it's beside the fact it's just like, those are the people you call when your car breaks down. Those are the people you call when you're sick and shut in. Those are the people who you, know, ask to borrow money if something goes wrong. Those are the people who, those are your friends. That's the people who go attend the bing hall. And it just made me think about what the church means to my parents. And it is, you know, their primary social function. And Who am I to say that's bad? That's great, whatever, a lot of us younger, I ain't young anymore, elder millennials and coastal people, we sort of, we live an irreligious life. And that's not to say you have to go to church, but we didn't replace it with anything. And so I see the good in what regular church attendance does to my parents and my family members and things like that. And it may not be for me, but I'm not gonna, I just stopped being * **** ***** it because, it's. I don't know, so it's like who we're all just guessing. And so, that kind of, that's one thing I just stopped being like the ******* atheist person. Everyone knows the ******* atheist. And so, generally speaking, I just. I am a lot nicer than I used to be in the sense that I just let people cook. I don't really do a lot of correct. I used to just be the guy who was correcting people or actually this and actually that, but especially in social settings, man, I'm just, I'm just like the good times where I let people cook. And so that was something that I had to get some self-awareness and change about myself. And it was like, Would you enjoy hanging out with you? And for the most part, I would say, yeah. But there were times where I was just like, there are things I would do now. Or the things I used to do that I remember. So I was when I was in Charlotte last April or May or April or March. And I took my sister out to lunch on that Sunday. And we was at Longhorn Steakhouse and we ordered steaks or whatever. And she was just telling me about the time that I was just like, we I used to be elitist about what temperature you ordered your steak. And she was just like, remember that? And I just, I just thought, man, I really was being * ****. Who cares how someone else orders their steak?
[00:20:09]JordanYeah, people didn't really get away about that. Yeah.
[00:20:12]DariusI just, I just remember, I just looked at her and I was like, man, I just, I don't know why I cared so much about that. I was like, she was like, you've scaled it back a lot. Like you've calmed down a lot. And I was just like, Yeah. I just think about like, who the **** cares? Someone gets a steak well done. Well, how does it make me better that I ordered a steak a different, it's just, so yeah, I guess my answer to that would be I just, I'm a lot more mellow these days, a lot less. Being right only matters, you know, what doesn't Bill Wither sign? It don't do no good to do all that talking if no one's listening. So I'm much more judicious about when I interject and set the record straight about things or the things that I decide to go on crusades about and different things like that. It's just, yeah, discretion, I guess, would be kind of where I'm at with it.
[00:20:59]JordanSo for sure. Yeah, that's a good one, too. I think I think for me is I. I used to really be like that, too, not so much with like, being correct. Well, yeah, sometimes about being correct, too. Then also for me, it would be like, when I just didn't understand the way people reacted to certain things, like emotionally or things in life and circumstances. Like, I just didn't understand it. So I just was like, well, you're weak. Like, you're just, you're, you're, you're, you're not strong enough to handle whatever you're going through. You're immature, you're whatever. When in reality, it's like, I don't know their life story, their journey before they got to that point. So how do I know why that thing affected them that way? You know what I mean? I didn't walk in their shoes, so I can't say whether or not they had blisters before they stepped on that thumbtack. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, I definitely had to learn a little bit more understanding and empathy for people and also just like, because it doesn't look the same way. is the way I would carry it doesn't mean that they're carrying it the wrong way, and vice versa too, because I've been in situations where I'm a very, animated and passionate person and some people find that off-putting and I it made me feel like I needed to like not be that way, so it cuts both ways.
[00:22:21]DariusYeah, I just I remember someone made the good point, this is a video of some lady like having a meltdown on some fast food worker. And she was obviously being a ***** about it. But it was like, you saw 30 seconds of her day. Like you have, you are. Judging, you saw 30 seconds of her day. And maybe she is just a terrible person, but keep in mind, you saw 30 seconds of her day.
[00:22:50]JordanRight.
[00:22:50]DariusThat's real.
[00:22:51]JordanThat's real.
[00:22:53]DariusShe lived a whole day before that. You don't know what day she had at work. You don't know what?
[00:22:58]JordanShe could have tripped and fell and busted a tire.
[00:23:01]DariusAnd you don't know what bill just hit her inbox. Yeah, you know, her car got jacked. Her kids report car was back. You don't you saw 30 seconds of her day and it was a meltdown on a fast food worker. And that's Look, there's no justification for that in the sense that those fast food workers didn't do it. But just keep in mind, you're seeing 30 seconds of that person's day.
[00:23:21]JordanNo, that's real ****. Cause I remember I used to work in a movie theater and they were doing like reconstruction on the roof. So it'd be like loud noise at different points throughout the course of the day. And this one lady was like complaining about it. We were like, this ***** won't shut the **** **. Like, you know, and we're like, what a ******* Karen. So we were like making fun of her and we were like, oh, it's so much noise. You know, whatever. And she like heard us. And she was like, I was a soldier in Iraq. This is actually really traumatizing for me.
[00:23:48]DariusIt's just, And we feel awful. it was just like when similar people dig up old tweets and I just feel like that's so holier than doubt. What was it? The reporter or the play that play analyst for the Trail Blazers. He's like 29 years old and he got the job before the season started. The same day they announced his job, some ******** searched his old tweets and they found tweets from 2012. The kid would have been 15, yeah. We don't even hold people responsible for crimes they committed at 15. Right. But you're going to lose your job for tweets when you were 15.
[00:24:25]JordanYeah, I get it. No, right. Yeah. That **** does get out of control.
[00:24:30]DariusIt's just, we, if people are like, well, he should have scrubbed his past, scrubbed his internet. And okay, sure, fine. I agree. But That can't be some. That can't be the answer. The answer should be no one should care about things you tweeted when you were 15 years old. Like it just does not. Yeah, we again, if he was at 15 years old, he like busted someone's car with a rock. Yeah, we wouldn't like no one would he wouldn't be charged as an adult for that. Like so this idea that.
[00:25:04]JordanYeah.
[00:25:06]DariusAgain, just move it a little bit more grace because your day could be next. when people were doing all the cancellations and when they're in peak woke, I remember sitting there like, you guys know the other side gets to win, gets to, he's going to win one day too, right? Friday, exactly. And so now when I won't say his name, so I don't want to deal with the pod, but like some guy got killed last year, right? prominent political figure, right-wing political figure. And people were losing their jobs for tweets about it.
[00:25:38]JordanAnd I'm like, yeah, and this dude did nothing in the world. You know, like it's crazy.
[00:25:41]DariusBut they set that standard though.
[00:25:44]JordanRight. To a good point. Good point. Yeah.
[00:25:45]DariusYou set the standard that some kids said something racist on his Twitter account 15 years ago. That's fireable. You have to know the other side gets to, it's gonna be like, you have to play. If you're If your plan has no answer for when the other side gets to govern, it's a, you have to understand that, like, they get to, it's two sides. So I never, I didn't feel bad for any of those people, because that's the state that everyone set, that tweets are fair games are being fired.
[00:26:11]JordanNow what I will say, yeah, and now what I will say is like, so there's a singer now who canceled her tour because of like a flood of her tweets came out from when she was like a teenager, I guess, but it was like crazy **** like some the Bosa Brothers type ****. And then, but then they, and I was like, it's bad. I get it. I wouldn't go to the concert. Obviously, I'll never listen to her music, you know, whatever supporter. And I would hope other people don't, you know, I'm keeping a buck. But also like, then there was a tweet from like four years ago when she was an adult and was like, looking back at those tweets, man, I was so funny. Cancel her. Like, that's, that's fine with me. Like, you know what I'm saying?
[00:26:46]DariusI'm, I guess I'm an evangelical about it. I just don't think tweets are cancellable or fireable.
[00:26:52]JordanSorry, not cancelled, but I'm saying like.
[00:26:54]DariusNow, you can't force nobody to buy a ticket to your concert. Like, if you don't want to go, like, there's no you can't force the government to make you people buy concert tickets. But right now, man, it's just you have to be careful about that stuff because what's what's considered out of bounds today could change tomorrow. And that is true. You you don't when the whoever is in charge gets to make those rules. And that's why, you know, you know, it's You don't want to set the standard where, because it never gets to be just the things you don't like are fireable on Twitter.
[00:27:31]JordanRight.
[00:27:32]DariusYou don't get to always control what is or isn't things that you like. And so, you know, it's just moving a little bit more grace.
[00:27:39]JordanBut yeah, and I also think people should not, I think tweets should not be treated more harshly than like actual crimes. You know what I'm saying? Like, there's a guy who has a really prominent job in a really prominent house in this country. And he's done way worse **** than people have tweeted and he's still working. You know what I'm saying? Like there's things we need to, we need to take care of before that.
[00:28:03]DariusIt's just, you know, keep in mind when you watch that viral video of someone having a tantrum that you're watching 30 seconds of their day.
[00:28:10]JordanNo, that's true. Yeah, because sometimes it, like we had a situation like that when I worked at a fast food restaurant. We were like, what the **** is her problem? And she actually was diabetic and her sugar was running low. So it was an urgent situation. So we didn't know that. And we weren't doctors, you know, she told us later on, you know. So, yeah, you just never know.
[00:28:31]DariusFair enough. Speaking a lack of self-awareness, you want to talk about two basketball players?
[00:28:36]JordanYeah. So how did somebody asked? Oh, yeah. So Jason Tatum, he had a clip of on a YouTube channel about his reaction to the Brown, Jalen Brown trade when he got traded to Philly this summer. And he said, basically, he was like, oh man, like, **** that sucks, dude, like ****. And then they were like, where did he, where did he trade him to, trade him to Philly? And he was like, oh man, I traded him down the street, damn it, you know, whatever.
[00:29:02]DariusOh, it sucks.
[00:29:03]JordanYeah, it was like that Drake meme when Katie tore his **** in the final, he's like, I actually believe Drake was genuine. It just, I know, but it just looks so over the top. I mean, he's an actor. That is true. He's a crazy actor. Yeah. And so Jalen Brown put cap under the comment in the comment section. They asked Tatum about it. He was like, we won together. I won the best for him, so on and so forth. His response was very peaceful. You know, I reached out to him, haven't heard back yet, but everybody processed things differently. Then they asked Jalen Brown, and he's like, yeah, I heard what he said, some of what he said, didn't see the whole clip. He said, I heard you say it, it's no beef, and he's right. It should never be beef because it's just basketball. But it is lamb chops and some gravy. But he kept saying it because he thought it was going to hit like the more times he said it, which was hilarious. And if you watch the clip back, one of the reporters, there's a zoom in on his face. And as he says it again, it crashes and burns. The reporter's just like, and he was like, then he said, then he went on to say, he comes from a great family. What else did he say? He's got a great PR team, so on and so forth. So it's like he basically just saying, all taking all these Dinleyville shots at Tatum. I mean, for those who don't know, In that situation where someone doesn't like you says you come from a great family. He's trying to call you a ***** essentially. He's got a great PR team. Yeah, he's calling you right. He's called. You got a great PR team. He's a snake. So yeah, I just want to get your take on that. And then there's some layers to the I have a couple questions that I want to address with them too.
[00:30:41]DariusSo remember when they traded him? And Brian Curtis, one of my favorite media reporters, has this thing called the Now They Tell Us report, like when some coach gets fired or some player gets traded, the beat reporters just sort of empty the notebook. Right. And they say some things about Jalen Brown. He thinks he's the smartest person in the room, da da da da. And the Twitterati was like, that's coded language. Da da da da da. And like, I believe everything they said. It's funny because Tatum said it.
[00:31:13]JordanTatum did say that this summer. I don't know if you heard that clip or not.
[00:31:16]DariusI Jalen Brown reminds me of the most annoying co-worker anyone's ever had ever. And so I believe every word of everything they said about him when he left. I saw a clip of him. He was like, someone asked him how much money he made that year. And he said it because it means public information. He wasn't, he wasn't right. He just literally answered the question. But he said something was like, it's not about how much money is in your account. It's about your investments. And it's just like the most vapid. Yeah. Podcaster, financial information. Elitist, yeah. You pay your financial advisor more than both of our salaries combined, and you don't know. Correct. He, a professional, you don't know what you're talking about. It's like, yes, what he said was just so stupid. And it was just like, he just clearly, you're talking to somebody who went on Wikipedia for an hour and thinks they're an expert on the topic. And he's just a reminder of that person. He's just the guy wh
