[00:00:00]Jordan: The you see that tweet where about the dude doing the the shot with Drake on the TV and somebody was like this gear than having sex with a man.
[00:00:12]Darius: As I love it was like. This is why I'm scared to date again, because what if I fall in love and this is his digital footprint? Ohh yes. One what if I 2 out to Trump with Jordan and Darius? My name is Darius that Steve's all up in area on all socials.
[00:00:29]Jordan: And I'm Jordan. That's Jordan. We're writing on all socials.
[00:00:32]Darius: This is our segment that we title What's On Our Mind, kind of letting you guys know what's on our mind, what we've been talking about, what we've been listening to, what we've been reading on the internet. And I just want to start off, I have a question for you. So as you know, I recently turned 38 and I've decided that my midlife crisis is going to be growing an afro. Yes. I'm inspired by Hove's Afro at the Roots Picnic. And so my question to you is, on *** **** riding scale of 1 to Diddy, how bad is growing an Afro out? Because I saw Hove at a JC.
[00:01:13]Jordan: Scale of 1 to Diddy. Okay, what's higher than Diddy on *** **** riding scale?
[00:01:22]Darius: Doesn't get much higher.
[00:01:26]Jordan: Did you see that while I tweet?
[00:01:28]Darius: Was it the one where he was like, That's a really poor choice of words?
[00:01:31]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:01:32]Darius: Yeah, I did.
[00:01:34]Jordan: He was like, first he tweeted, It's a we're in * **** riding epidemic. Then he tweeted, You spitting? And it was like a poor choice of words.
[00:01:44]Darius: You know, I saw a guy post himself taking a shot with Drake in the video.
[00:01:51]Jordan: Oh, on the, yeah, on the, he was in front of the TV. Yeah, TV, yeah. Yeah, that's about, yeah, as **** riding as it gets.
[00:01:59]Darius: You know, but no, I, remember that there was a tweet that she was just like, me listening to all these rappers, because I don't care who beefing with who, I don't know these Like, right, yeah, exactly. I don't know. I don't know these guys. I don't know any of these people. No, I think that's what I'm gonna do, man. I'm gonna do the midlife crisis hairstyle change. So.
[00:02:21]Jordan: Okay, it's actually not that bad because, I mean, Jay's kind of the reason is wearing button downs in the club with ******* loafers and baggy jeans.
[00:02:29]Darius: So I have, you know, it's not that different. Any pictures of that, you know? So only the power of hope can get us to stop wearing Jay's. Moving on to our first topic, I posited the question to you and it was, who are, so, I got the prompt from listening to another podcast where you listed a bunch of white people. So I was like, well, let's specify it a bit. So who are some black entertainers with 100% approval rating? If you cannot get a black person to on the record say something negative about their work, I mean.
[00:03:05]Jordan: Okay, because I was going to got you. Okay, so I wouldn't if it was a black person that was universe to all races or okay, that helps. So first on my list is Denzel Washington. I've never heard a black person say a little bad thing about that man, especially because he did the, you know, he had that no white women clause in his contracts early on. So he didn't want to alienate his black women fan base, which is very smart.
[00:03:29]Darius: I think that was an agent telling him, this is where everybody is. He's so his approval ratings are so high with us. We let him make 3 equalizers.
[00:03:41]Jordan: He really got a trilogy of that. None of them were good. As a point of reference, like think about all the trilogies we didn't get. We didn't get a third. Andrew Garfield didn't get a third Spider-Man movie. You know what I'm saying? We let him make
[00:03:55]Darius: a 65 year old action movie star. That's how that's how over he is. Who else she got?
[00:04:01]Jordan: Right. I got Viola Davis.
[00:04:04]Darius: She's on my list.
[00:04:04]Jordan: I've never I've never heard anyone. The slightest bit of slander, quote unquote, she's ever gotten was the performance of she did of Michelle Obama. And I thought that was actually pretty good with where she did the mouth thing.
[00:04:16]Darius: She was terrible in that. And that's how over she is because we let her cook.
[00:04:20]Jordan: But it was just so funny. I just.
[00:04:26]Darius: Here's how unimpeachable she is. There wasn't, everyone on set got to know she was bad and no one was like, hey, you want to take another shot at that?
[00:04:33]Jordan: Hey, you want to take it down a notch?
[00:04:36]Darius: Everyone had to know that was bad in the moment.
[00:04:38]Jordan: Right. Yeah. My next one, I'm gonna go Usher. I feel like I've never really heard.
[00:04:46]Darius: That's true. That is true. I think he's playing with fire sort of with Chris Brown.
[00:04:51]Jordan: Well, yeah. And interesting choice of words there. I'm not going to say anything more than that. Next I got this one's close because they're kind of polarizing too. They're kind of polarizing. So, you know, I'm cool with you wiping them off or being wrong on this with him on my list. Steph Curry. You don't really hear Black people say bad things about Steph Curry.
[00:05:13]Darius: I had saved that for the sports segment, but I'm off of him. He signed. Oh, a leaning deal is with the Chinese company. Okay. What the **** is that? At the very least, he should have to register as a foreign agent.
[00:05:29]Jordan: That's crazy.
[00:05:31]Darius: Why not?
[00:05:31]Jordan: I don't know. I mean, well, I think, well, I know D Wade's with them. I believe Jimmy Butler's also with that company.
[00:05:38]Darius: So let me get okay.
[00:05:39]Jordan: So was Shalon Brown with them too? I can't remember.
[00:05:41]Darius: There's no such thing as private companies in China. So you're basically signing with the Chinese government. So the Chinese government is giving one of our most one of the America's most prominent athletes $400 million. And we think that's to sell shoes. I got to do some research on that. A hostile foreign government is giving a very prominent athlete $400 million and we're all going to pretend that's to sell shoes. Okay. All right. We just. Okay. Fair enough.
[00:06:11]Jordan: So he's a little iffy, especially because of the thing with the low income housing, that whole controversy.
[00:06:18]Darius: So I believe more black people then want to admit kind of understand.
[00:06:24]Jordan: I agree with that. Sounds bad coming from 100 millionaire. Next person on my list is Cedric the Entertainer.
[00:06:32]Darius: Yeah, that's a good one. That's a good one.
[00:06:34]Jordan: Yeah. You know, he's made a lot of good, content, some, not so much, but he, you know, we're still going to go see him and support every time. You know, he's, you know, a legend.
[00:06:45]Darius: So he's just, yeah, I mean, he's just been a cool old dude for 35 years. You know, he hasn't
[00:06:52]Jordan: literally, yeah, just being super likable.
[00:06:53]Darius: Yeah, just super likable. Has no personal drama. Has no, done mostly black content. Right. I'll be honest, I didn't watch most of that show he just had with the news. Yeah, with that.
[00:07:06]Jordan: But yeah.
[00:07:08]Darius: You know, he was on that show for eight years. So, you know, go get your money, man.
[00:07:11]Jordan: I do watch it at the gym. They have it on TVs all the time. So I just read the subtitles when I'm on the bike and stuff. Seems pretty funny from what I can see on the muted screen. Yeah, so I thought I had more time to think, but I work got kind of busy at the end of the day. Last person on my list is Wanda Sykes. She has made a career of being the sassy, funny, best black friend.
[00:07:35]Darius: I will give that to Jennifer Lewis, but.
[00:07:38]Jordan: Oh, yeah, you know what, that's a good one too.
[00:07:40]Darius: You have a glaring omission that as soon as I say it, it's Will Smith.
[00:07:44]Jordan: Well, so I thought about him. I left him off because, okay. You said, I went over to black people or all people, so that's why I left them off. Okay. He's still goated to me, but because of the slap, white people really, you know, stop ******* them a little bit. So throw him back on the list because we're talking about to black people.
[00:08:00]Darius: Yeah. I was talking about black entertainers with 100% approved ratings amongst black people. Singer breaking Ronald Isley. I think can't get anyone to say anything bad about Ronald Isley.
[00:08:13]Jordan: That is correct.
[00:08:14]Darius: As far as singers go.
[00:08:15]Jordan: Yeah, Donte swooning during the verses.
[00:08:17]Darius: Yeah. I mean, I think that's pretty it. As far as singers go, I can't really think of.
[00:08:24]Jordan: Yeah, I mean. Yeah, you want. I mean, Michael Jackson, he's polarizing, but still, I mean, this movie's about to make a billion dollars, so.
[00:08:32]Darius: Yeah, I mean, that is true. Yeah, I think it's I think that's the I'm trying to think of anyone else. I was thinking of people alive. Okay. It's easy to have everyone once you die, all your sins go with you. And so unless they're egregious, but like, it's like, but yeah, I think that pretty much does it. Steph Curry is off the list, man. He's a spy. So it's just unbelievable. You just we're on Team USA. Anyways. All right.
[00:09:09]Jordan: That is crazy.
[00:09:10]Darius: You got one movie putting two movies against each other.
[00:09:15]Jordan: I saw a tweet the other day of which was the better movie, Little Giants or The Sandlot. That was pretty interesting. I would say Little Giants is a better sports movie just in terms of like just the amount of football scenes in the movie compared to the amount of baseball scenes in the Sandlot. Also just the movie's more about literally about football as opposed to Sandlot and more about friendship. But I'd say The Sandlot is a better movie overall. compared to Little Giants.
[00:09:46]Darius: I have not seen Little Giants. I've only seen Sandlot.
[00:09:49]Jordan: Oh, really? It's a good movie. It's a good 90s kid flick.
[00:09:53]Darius: Couldn't even tell you. It's football, you said, right?
[00:09:55]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:09:56]Darius: All right.
[00:09:57]Jordan: Yeah, it's got Rick Moranis.
[00:10:00]Darius: Never seen him, man. I have seen Sandlot because that's like, you say a lot is so you like, I don't even remember the first time I saw it. I just remember it was like I was born having seen it. Right. I had here, since I've only seen one, what makes you pick one or the other? And did you pick one or the other?
[00:10:20]Jordan: I mean, I'm going to say a lot just because like Cinnamon Oval, are you, know, like just like everything about the movie is like literally legendary. You know, you play ball like a girl, him kissing the lifeguard by faking dead.
[00:10:34]Darius: That would not hold up the 2026 screw game.
[00:10:37]Jordan: Well, yeah, for sure. He was 8, so it was cool. The black PF Flyers, those were like iconic to me. The 30 jersey, the blue. And also just felt it just reminded me like it was literally our childhoods. You know what I mean? Like just playing in the street all day long until your parents told you to get the **** home. Or just like a lot of sentiment of value.
[00:11:01]Darius: How like the neighborhood like killer dog, you almost mythologized it. was probably just like a regular dog. But as a kid, it felt like a ******* mythical creature.
[00:11:13]Jordan: Mastiff or something.
[00:11:14]Darius: Yeah. You know, and it's just, and the way the movie made it feel larger than life. And then the old man's cool.
[00:11:22]Jordan: James Earl Jones.
[00:11:24]Darius: James Earl Jones is cool. And yeah, so I mean, I would pick Giants and them both, but I find it hard to believe Little Giants is better than Sam Lot just because Yeah, they're only but so many movies ever better than right. Yeah, correct.
[00:11:39]Jordan: Like they really treat that dog like it was like a direwolf.
[00:11:42]Darius: Yeah, pretty much. He was one of. Yeah, like a direwolf. And even now with it as an adult, I still struggle with like, was it really?
[00:11:52]Jordan: Was it really a big
[00:11:53]Darius: dog creature or was it just little kids were scared of, you know, the really dog?
[00:11:57]Jordan: And it's like, was that fence really that high up where it was impressive that the dog jumped or was the fence like 3 feet and they were little?
[00:12:02]Darius: Yeah, they were little. I'm going to probably go with the latter on that. But you know, that's the beauty of like those 90s movies is that they didn't, like they were allowed to be silly in places that I just don't think movies, they almost have to announce their silliness now. And you know, it was like, we've talked about this with the 90s TV shows, like the Mount of Continuity errors. almost built into the lore. And now every show has to remember what someone said in season 2. And it's just like, we actually don't need that. Like it's fine. Just make a new episode. Like we don't actually.
[00:12:36]Jordan: You got to rewatch the season to know what the hell you're watching this year. The show came out a year ago. It's 8 episodes.
[00:12:42]Darius: And like, you know, we watched The Fresh Prince, where Will Smith was either an idiot or a genius, depending on what the plot needed. Yeah. Or Jamie Foxx, either the hotel was either they were rich or they were struggling, depending on what the plot needed. It's fine. Correct. Who cares? Like, you know, we all right. A little continuity is good. Don't get me wrong, but you don't have to tie every knot and, you know, put a bow on it. So correct.
[00:13:07]Jordan: I agree. Even like with good times, it was like either they were like a step away from the crack house or they were the richest of the poor people.
[00:13:14]Darius: I think they were the richest of the poor people. Yeah, I think someone made it was like all the people in Goodfellas, like where they did the street work for the people in Godfather, you know, like it's just like they were they were the boys on the corner, like from the wire for white battalion. Yeah, right.
[00:13:35]Jordan: Yeah. Yeah. That's it.
[00:13:36]Darius: Little small stakes, you know, piddly drug dealing and what's the word we're looking for? Extortion and things like that.
[00:13:45]Jordan: Yeah, petty crimes, nothing. I mean, I'm sure they were killing people obviously, but Fair enough, man.
[00:13:52]Darius: I found this prompt on the interwebs. It said, what fictional character do you identify with the most?
[00:14:02]Jordan: So I got a few here. First one is I don't even do that. What have a few?
[00:14:09]Darius: Yeah. The most can only be one, but fair enough.
[00:14:16]Jordan: Oh, it was one? Oh, ****.
[00:14:18]Darius: No, I was just ******* with you.
[00:14:19]Jordan: All right. So my first one is Aladdin. One of my favorite characters of all time. He was like, you know, he was like resourceful. He was, you know, charismatic, but he also was like very vulnerable as well. So I'm very close related to that. He felt like he was, you know, Disenchanted with his place in life. I always thought that was very, grounded, That's my first one. Also, who didn't love Princess Jasmine? So there's that. Yeah.
[00:14:51]Darius: And he had great songs, man. I can show you the world.
[00:14:53]Jordan: Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Great songs, great soundtrack. My second character is the Great Gatsby. Okay. He was, blinded by his ambition. He was, he had it right there and he could, it just wasn't enough for him. I can kind of relate to just having a bit of an insatiable appetite for things at times, and that getting me in some sort of trouble. My second one is, our third one is Balto. It's a true story, based on a true story about a husky dog who kind of was a little bit of a misfit. He was, he was half wolf, half dog. He wasn't accepted by the wolves, he wasn't accepted by the dogs. And I felt like that was very closely, as a kid who grew up maybe like suburban or whatever you want to call it, I kind of related to that struggle, you know, where it's like, you know, you either, you know, weird for liking the **** you like or being into books and **** or, you know, you're weird for being black. So I always just very strongly, related to him and, the kind of the underdog, undertones of the story. And it's also a lot about purpose. And that's something that's, just, a constant theme with me. So that's one or three rather. And then my last one is Shrek.
[00:16:11]Darius: Okay.
[00:16:12]Jordan: I will go to a grave saying like Shrek is a black man. I just like he's talking about like, you know, everybody's, you know, afraid of me. People judge me before they get to know me. You know, they expect me to be one way and they're mad when I'm another way. Or, you know, basically just do lack of being able to be a complex human being based on perception. And I also just think it's just one of the great, literally one of the best movies ever. Character development, plot twists, everything you want in a movie, fun for a whole family.
[00:16:39]Darius: I've not seen one scene of a track movie.
[00:16:41]Jordan: That is crazy to me.
[00:16:43]Darius: I, what year did the first one come out?
[00:16:46]Jordan: Like 2000, I want to say, or 01 maybe? It was like 8 or 9.
[00:16:51]Darius: Let's see, we have the internet. This is bad audio. Shrek one release date. 2001. So I mean, I was 13. I had by then.
[00:17:02]Jordan: Yeah, you're probably a little too old to.
[00:17:04]Darius: Yeah, I can see that. Yeah, man, I don't like, it wasn't like a conscious choice to like stop watching cartoons. I just, I don't know. Right. Just did. um I stopped watching wrestling one day I just was like this is dumb just there's no way that he why is he keep running into his arm that's stupid um yeah
[00:17:24]Jordan: I was still played the games those are fun
[00:17:26]Darius: wrestling games are dope um now yeah got into them but um yeah so I okay what was the the what was the one before Shrek uh Balto okay um what movie was that
[00:17:41]Jordan: The movie's called Balto.
[00:17:43]Darius: Okay, what's the character's name? Balto?
[00:17:45]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:17:45]Darius: I've never heard of that. So let me write.
[00:17:48]Jordan: It's a it's actually like a combination of live action and animation. Kevin Bacon did the voice. Jim Cummings, one of the great voice actors of all time, is in it too. Came out in like the, I think, mid 90s, early 90s. Yeah, so that's like, I ******* love that movie. It had no business being that good as a as a kids movie type ****. It's up there with Lion King for me.
[00:18:16]Darius: Lion King. I remember that one. That was legit. Simba and Puma and. Yeah. Timon, Timon and and Scar and what's the dad's name? Mufasa. So Scar was the Mufasa was the uncle was the uncle. Gotcha.
[00:18:36]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:18:37]Darius: And then I do remember they did a live action remake.
[00:18:42]Jordan: Yeah, it was great. Donald Glover and Beyonce.
[00:18:45]Darius: Yeah, that's why are we doing this? So I could not come up with an answer. I remember. So last week we did about time. I don't know the release schedule, but so if I'm stepping on it, sorry. But and then there's a line at the end.
[00:19:00]Jordan: Well, that was the one that didn't record, so.
[00:19:03]Darius: Oh, fair enough. So I'm not standing on anything.
[00:19:07]Jordan: So that was never coming down.
[00:19:08]Darius: No, that doesn't exist. It was a figment of our imagination. It's in the ether. There's a line at the end that I love and he just goes, you know, I'm just going to go on living my extraordinary, ordinary life. And that always resonated with me because people like, I just live a regular *** life, man. Like I go to work. I go to the gym, I cook my food, sit down and watch the game. And I love it. It's my extraordinary ordinary life. I feel you. It's not bad character, but I just love that line. I think it's actually the closing line of the movie.
[00:19:40]Jordan: I believe so, yeah.
[00:19:42]Darius: But just to have a little fun, I threw it in AI. the one I used, Google Gemini, and I was like, based off of, because it has access to my emails and the other projects I'm working on. I was like, name a fictional character that would best like describe me.
[00:20:02]Jordan: Can I guess who it is?
[00:20:03]Darius: Yeah, I'm going to name it.
[00:20:05]Jordan: Okay.
[00:20:06]Darius: Jack Bauer from 24. Really? Yeah, I was like, what? So the AIs aren't great. Although I'll read a little bit. I'm not just going to sit up here and read to everybody. It's just like high level post-production and workflow precision. You don't just have hobbies. You manage them with the precision of a tactical operation from handling complex multi-segment podcast production workflow to managing massive external media hard drives and structured team collaboration. OK, I guess Jack Bauer was. That **** turned you into Ethan Hunt. Yeah, you know, it's like, whether he's tracking fitness metrics down to the exact data relationship in Excel, Analytically breaking down complex world building and cold. Okay. So the AIs aren't great. I don't know if I'm exactly.
[00:20:55]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:20:56]Darius: It contradicts itself. It says, in short, you are the guy behind the scenes ensuring the operation runs flawlessly. Jack Pauer was in front. He was the guy in front man.
[00:21:09]Jordan: They're describing you as the guy in the van or the guy behind the computer. And Jack Barrett's not the guy.
[00:21:14]Darius: Neither of those people. So they are not, they're not perfect. Okay. And so I just thought, you know, it like most. That's funny. You got like 80, 70% of your right. And the last 30% is the percent that matters. So that's funny. Yeah, man. Throw it in one and see what it says for you. Then we'll bring it to the next show.
[00:21:33]Jordan: So yeah, I got to I got to do that. Yeah, my guess was going to be Like Sheldon Cooper or something like that.
[00:21:40]Darius: I've been called that before. I feel like that. It's cool when other people call me Sheldon Cooper. Me calling myself that is a little self-indulgent because he's like a chemical physicist or, you know, a theoretical.
[00:21:52]Jordan: Physicist or a theoretical physicist?
[00:21:54]Darius: Yeah. You know, he had like 3 PhDs and it's a little, little.
[00:21:59]Jordan: Say hi, I'm a genius.
[00:22:00]Darius: Yeah. It's like everyone calls me a genius. So I see myself in this genius. who's, he's a little quirky, but he's an award-winning, Nobel Prize winning scientist. And that's how I see myself. No, that's, it's okay when other people call me that. But when you call yourself that, it's a lot.
[00:22:18]Jordan: Yeah. It's like, no, I actually can't tell you how space works.
[00:22:22]Darius: What's your weakness? I just work so hard. You know, I can't. Right. My greatest weakness is I care too much. Yeah, you know, I can't. I work myself too hard and I don't sleep. And that's my greatest. My greatest weakness is that I'm so smart, I'm socially awkward. Okay. It's like when girls are like, you know, I'm so pretty, other girls don't like me.
[00:22:45]Jordan: And it's like, Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, okay, *******.
[00:22:50]Darius: You've described your flaw in the most flattering way possible. I'm skeptical that any of this is true.
[00:22:54]Jordan: Right.
[00:22:56]Darius: All right, so man, on you for movies based on a book.
[00:23:02]Jordan: Yeah. So I wanted to ask you, what are some of your favorite or favorite or best, favorite movies based on books?
[00:23:13]Darius: Well, the greatest of all time is Goodfellas, right? Based on.
[00:23:17]Jordan: Oh **** yeah, it is. Yeah, you're right. Godfather 2.
[00:23:21]Darius: Godfather 2. I mean, the problem is that most good movies are based on books. So right now I would say Project Hail Mary. It's a recent example. if I just went 2026, Project Hail Mary. Recently watched Devil Was Prada. That's a really good movie based on a book. But yeah, all time I'm going with Goodfellas. So what about you?
[00:23:42]Jordan: Okay. First I'm going with The Outsiders. It was one of my favorite books as a kid. That movie launched a lot of careers. Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze. Rob Lowe. What else is in that movie? I'm trying to think. Ralph Macchio. I think you got that before Karate Kid. Yeah, that's one of my favorite movies and books. Holes. Have you read that book?
[00:24:04]Darius: I haven't heard that one. I haven't heard that one. No.
[00:24:07]Jordan: That's too damn bad. It's like a legend. That legendary Jif where she's like, I'm tired of this grandpa. Where she's digging the holes.
[00:24:15]Darius: I've seen the Jif, of course. Isn't that Clint Eastwood or something?
[00:24:19]Jordan: No. **** John, no, John, John Voight. John Voight's in it. I can't remember who played the old guy though. Shia LaBeouf was in it. Shigourney Weaver.
[00:24:31]Darius: It was a photographic memory for recalling movie details. I'd be like, man.
[00:24:36]Jordan: Yeah, I've like crazy recall. Yeah.
[00:24:38]Darius: If you're not the best, if you're not actor or supporting actor, it's real hit or miss. If you were in that movie for me, then.
[00:24:45]Jordan: Yeah, it's yeah. Like I know my memory is so good. Like I pretend to forget **** so other people feel normal. Like, you know what I mean? Like if people feel bad if you remember them, they don't remember you, know? So I just pretend to forget a lot of people all the time. My next one is Gone Girl. I love that movie. I think that's one of the best performances of Ben Affleck's career. David Fincher to me is one of my favorite directors. Very slept on. Well, not slept on, but just, you know, when people talk about great directors, I feel like they never really mention him because he does a lot of dark material. That plot twist was crazy. Yes, that's #3. My next two are from the same franchise, but they're great standalone individual films. So I'm going to go Prisoner of Azkaban, the third Harry Potter book slash movie. The cinematography, the visuals, the special effects in that movie, storytelling, everything. Any Harry Potter film will tell you that's the best individual film adaptation in the movie, in the series.
[00:25:47]Darius: Which one was that in the seven? I guess there was eight.
[00:25:51]Jordan: It's the third one. It's the one with Gary Oldman in it.
[00:25:54]Darius: Okay.
[00:25:56]Jordan: Yeah, really, really good. Some of the best performances of the trio. in that franchise. And then my next one is Half-Blood Prince. That's book 6, movie 6. That's the one where Dumbledore dies. Spoiler alert.
[00:26:11]Darius: Can you spoil something that's been came out 30 years ago?
[00:26:15]Jordan: Yeah, true. That movie is all about pretty much unpacking Voldemort's childhood and adolescence and traumas and things of that nature. That's all I got on my list so far. I didn't make a super long list. Kind of wanted to go off the cuff with this one.
[00:26:30]Darius: Let me think. Oh, the Tinker Tailored Soldier Spy.
[00:26:39]Jordan: Oh, okay.
[00:26:40]Darius: The Hunt for Red October was a great one.
[00:26:43]Jordan: Which one?
[00:26:44]Darius: The Hunt for Red October is.
[00:26:46]Jordan: Oh, no, I'm thinking about. Okay, yeah, that's right. I'm thinking about Red Dawn.
[00:26:51]Darius: Yeah, I think they're all written by the same author, to be honest with you. Oh, okay. And what's the one? The guy who overdosed of the most. Hold on.
[00:27:09]Jordan: Overdosed.
[00:27:10]Darius: Guy in spy movie who died of overdose. Philip Seymour Hoffman wasn't a most haunted man.
[00:27:21]Jordan: Okay.
[00:27:21]Darius: That was based on, I love that movie based off a book.
[00:27:25]Jordan: Okay.
[00:27:25]Darius: So let me ask you this. I have a follow up question. What video game do you wish was made into a movie?
[00:27:33]Jordan: Oh, that's a good one. I thought you were going to ask the reverse. What video game do I wish was made into a movie?
[00:27:43]Darius: I just thought of that right now. So you know what?
[00:27:46]Jordan: Oh, no, you're good. This was like kind of like not a super serious pick, but I just think it'd be really fun movie to watch. Crash Bandicoot. I think that'd be a fire *** movie.
[00:27:58]Darius: I would go with Metal Gear Solid one, the one on PS1 right before Sons of Liberty. I forget the name of it, but it's the one where you fight Meryl. You got to deal with the sniper. You got to deal with Psycho Mantis. You got to deal with.
[00:28:18]Jordan: I don't know if I've seen that or played that one.
[00:28:21]Darius: And Metal Gear Solid is probably my favorite game series of all time. But if I could turn anything to a movie, it would be that one. But the problem with turning video games into movies is that a lot of what makes a story compelling is that you get to play it. And once you take that out, There's less options. Right. And people always say we should, this random Grand Theft Auto story should be a movie. And I'm like, that would, it's, you know how many gangster movies have been made? You would be so one. Right. Yeah. If you weren't, if you weren't actually playing the character. That's the issue that The Last of Us ran into is like, part of what made the game fun was figuring out how to get through these levels. and kill these zombies with limited supplies. And it's only so many times people watch that on a TV show. You know, it's like, you're just watching them sneak around.
[00:29:09]Jordan: It's like just watching The Walking Dead over and over again.
[00:29:11]Darius: Right. And it's like, so it's a lot trickier than people give it credit for being because Most of what makes a video game story compelling is that you're part of it. You're inside of it. You're making these decisions. And so Mass Effect would be good. But it would be, Mass Effect would have to be a TV show. It couldn't be a movie. It's just too long. Yeah.
[00:29:31]Jordan: Okay. I think Red Dead Redemption would be a fun one too.
[00:29:35]Darius: That would be a good one.
[00:29:36]Jordan: I love Western. So I think that'd be a dope movie.
[00:29:38]Darius: That one would really work. They'd have to scale back some of the cheese. you know, and grounded in a little bit more reality that the Christopher Nolan it with Batman, but a good and they would have I wouldn't want to be a TV show. It had to be like a two hour and 30 minute movie. It had to be long. But yeah, I'm into it. You know, it's I think the video games where There's a lot of characters that do their own thing and have their own backgrounds and make better TV shows because you can sprawl out. Right. But video games that are just long, but it's just one person, you can cut a lot of it. Just make a movie, you know. Correct.
[00:30:19]Jordan: Yeah, I agree. Okay, so let me ask you the reverse then. If you could turn a movie into a video game, what would you do? Which one would you pick?
[00:30:32]Darius: That's a good question. Because what? Movie. All right, well, hell, Star Wars has. Oh, so that's cheating?
[00:30:43]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:30:47]Darius: Something I've seen recently. Have to be action.
[00:30:52]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:30:56]Darius: **** it. Give me Space Jam. Give me the characters in a.
[00:31:00]Jordan: That would be fun. That'd be dope.
[00:31:01]Darius: It'd be like Mario Tennis, but with like Bugs Bunny and them. Right.
[00:31:05]Jordan: Yeah.
[00:31:05]Darius: So yeah. Give me Space Jam. I want to see if Bug Bunny got hops.
[00:31:09]Jordan: So yeah, that'd be pretty dope. Tricked out 2K.
[00:31:12]Darius: Yeah, I'm into that. I like Mario Tennis. That's my next Switch purchase. So I'll be into that.
[00:31:17]Jordan: Okay. How about you? I'm going to go. Try to think good action movie or something or like thriller. Maybe like. you know what? I always thought Inception would be like the greatest video game ever.
[00:31:38]Darius: That would be a good one.
[00:31:40]Jordan: Because you got the level with the snow and **** you know, you got the rain, you got the, you know, all the different universes, if you will. Yeah, I think that'd be a pretty dope video game.
[00:31:51]Darius: And you can give the user like choices that change the story around. Yeah, that was part of what?
[00:31:55]Jordan: Multiple characters.
[00:31:56]Darius: Yeah, it was part of what made Mass Effect dope was like, there's three games, but like decisions you made in game one, had payoffs in game three. And I had like, which sounds easy now, but when that game came out, that was like a novel concept.
[00:32:10]Jordan: Futuristic.
[00:32:12]Darius: And so, you know, there was characters in the third game that died. I won't spoil it, but that like I had been rocking with since my first day on the ship. And so, you know, it's, I was a little ****** ** about that, man. RIP to them. So that's funny.
[00:32:32]Jordan: I've been playing the new
