00:00:00 Darius: Welcome to Out the Trunk with Jordan and Darius. My name is Darius. That's Steve's I love the area on all socials.
00:00:07 Jordan: And I'm Jordan. That's Jordan B Riding on all socials.
00:00:09 Darius: This is our what's on our mind segment where we kind of just, you know, scroll through the internet for a little bit. First we want to say happy new year. If we are back from our break, back to fill your algorithms up with us talking back and forth. Happy New Year, people.
00:00:27 Jordan: Happy New Year guys. Happy to be back. Looking forward to create some more reason or making some more stuff to help you get to get through your workday, hopefully. And as someone who's also working, it's great to be back on my desk and not have to think about work.
00:00:43 Darius: All right. So how was how was your holiday? How was your New Year? Tell the people about it. Pretend like I don't know already.
00:00:49 Jordan: Right. We don't talk every day. It was really, really good. I had a great Christmas. spent it with my immediate family and then my mom's aunts and their kids and families came over, we hosted this year. So we had a good time, played a bunch of different games. My brother surprised us by renting or buying a Santa Claus suit and just popping out with that on with the beard and everything. My dad, for some reason, decided to dress as one of the three wise men. So he bought one of those, I don't know what they're called, but the suits of the Garbs the people who Muslim garbs up like that. So that was funny. Watch Christmas movies for Christmas. Yeah. Well, it was the three wise men. So that was, you know, that was a joke. But we were calling him Jesus all night. Okay.
00:01:42 Darius: All right. Jesus was black. So, you know.
00:01:46 Jordan: Right. Middle Eastern.
00:01:48 Darius: Black is, I don't know if that's what they, so.
00:01:51 Jordan: I black people who use oils, fair. What are you looking forward to in 2026? Yeah, I think so. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of consistency. That's like the biggest thing I'm looking forward to this year is maintaining consistency and discipline and actually seeing the fruits of those labors. So right now I'm just really focused on doing the work and enjoying the process and looking forward to seeing what that brings.
00:02:30 Darius: All right, best of luck to all of that. Speaking of doing the work, have you ever listened to a piece of art or music or song and you just be like, that guy needs someone on his team to be like, no, man?
00:02:45 Jordan: Yeah, of course, all the time.
00:02:48 Darius: Leon Thomas's song by Muse, lovely song, wonderful song. He ends the second verse with toes done even in the winter. She a real winner. He just makes a noise. And I was like, he just needs someone in the booth to be like, take another stab at that one. I don't know.
00:03:07 Jordan: Yeah. So I am a Leon Thomas fan. I love him. I've been watching him. I've been watching him. I've been a fan of his since Victorious, the show and declared I don't know if he saw it or not. Big part of my childhood. And of course he was on Insecure as well. I think one thing is he just he does too many runs on his songs. He doesn't need to do a run on like every line. I think that's my I'm not a vocal coach, but just from a choir kid and band kid. That's just one thing I would, definitely want to say for sure.
00:03:35 Darius: I enjoy, I think Mud is a terrible song. But I love that song.
00:03:39 Jordan: That's my ****. That's not the best song of the album. That's not the best song of the album.
00:03:42 Darius: But I do love that song. I love his music. I would see him live. I just, every time I listen to that song and I listen to it often. It's probably one of my top five songs this year so far, all of six days of it as I date the podcast. But it's just that when he gets to that part, I'm like, This is the result of, and like you said, the vocal code, this is the result of like one take music. It's like, if he had let that marinate for another week, someone would have been like, hey, let's go another run at that one.
00:04:11 Jordan: And the thing, yeah, and the thing too is he also writes and produces and plays multiple instruments. So like he probably has the bulk of the creative control over his projects, you know, so that is also probably a factor. I believe he's independent. So I'm sure that cuts down the amount of feedback that he's able to be able to get on his projects. No, he called though. I really **** with him. I like his ****. And it's dope to see someone like in our age group, you know, that still has a love for the craft and, you know, like I say, plays multiple instruments and **** you know what I'm saying? So it's as long as I see good, see people who are talented actually win.
00:04:48 Darius: It's music built from the ground up. If it, you know, it doesn't feel like It doesn't feel like, oh, this beat from a hard drive from three years ago. It feels like, you said, the instrumentation is built up from the ground up. And honestly, even like the bad runs almost give it an authenticity because he's not computerizing it over the top of it.
00:05:12 Jordan: Right, you know it's not digital and all that. Yeah, and it's and he shout out to someone who Does not fall into the category of chicken Alfredo R&B, you know.
00:05:27 Darius: Yeah, it ain't 4 baby mamas in four different houses R&B.
00:05:31 Jordan: No, yeah, Like that ****** Summer Walker song. What's it called? Go Girl. That's one of the worst songs in the history of Ears. I ******* hate that song so much.
00:05:41 Darius: She started one song on her old album, old album 2 albums ago, maybe. And it was like, She was like, I want to start with your mama. She should have whooped your ***. I was like, oh yeah, should have whooped your ***. Yeah, I was like, man, she ate that guts. Like, why? Get my mama out of it, man. You know, Mira told that old lady, my mama don't like you and she likes everybody.
00:06:06 Jordan: She likes everyone.
00:06:09 Darius: Every time I do that, I'm like, that would hurt.
00:06:12 Jordan: Then there's that Doja Cat line, you don't like that because your dad's a *****.
00:06:16 Darius: Yeah. I'm sure they're justified.
00:06:25 Jordan: I'm sure they're justified. Yeah, no, that's actually really rude to say. But I believe it. And I've been there. And I've been there. I really wouldn't say that to somebody once.
00:06:33 Darius: He's like, everybody in the neighborhood come to my house and eat, but you. My mama don't like you.
00:06:37 Jordan: Except for you. My mama said, Tracy cannot come here.
00:06:43 Darius: You want to talk about these books, man?
00:06:48 Jordan: So it was a big controversy on Twitter where a girl had posted like a picture of her with a bunch of stacks of books saying, these are all the books I read this year, I read 120 books. Obviously all the books weren't pictured because some of them were digital and who the **** can have 120 books in their house? or would have that given technology. And people started like just basically calling cap on it, saying how how could she possibly have read 120 books? Then it started judging the genre of the book she had read, which I guess a lot of it was like romanticy and, you know, the spicy books and, you know, **** type **** whatever.
00:07:19 Darius: Very **** ****.
00:07:20 Jordan: And then, yeah, very **** **** fantasy ****. Yeah, ebony **** you know, and And it was just like, y'all can't enjoy nothing. Y'all can't let people enjoy ****. Like, y'all made reading controversial? That's crazy.
00:07:38 Darius: One, there are a few things I find more distasteful than combing through someone's like, you know, they post their Goodreads or whatever into your recaps and like feeling like you can cast judgment on what they read. Do you read, you see these literacy rights, my if they read anything, they can read the ******* cereal box and I'm cool with it.
00:07:54 Jordan: Like, if they're reading their mail, you should give them a clap on the back.
00:07:59 Darius: They're not just scrolling TikTok endlessly. Right. First of all, honestly, just it's not even a joke. Reading anything is furthering, you know, you're intellect. Like the idea that I'm just sitting around reading Art of War all day is not true. I do leave fiction, but I read a lot of ********. I read sports articles. I read, you know, the New York Times lifestyle section and you know, so That's part of it. And second of all, there's just this strain of like online manosphere thing where it's like they just don't let women enjoy anything. And it's like the books aren't good enough for you because they're ***** books and you're mad that women like the books. And it's just like, I don't understand. First of all, do you have anything better to do than just, she didn't even post the list of books. You had to do some research.
00:08:52 Jordan: Because the fact that you zoomed in on the picture and was like, oh, let me Google that title.
00:08:56 Darius: And it's like, what are you angry about? She's reading books that you wouldn't find. She's not asking you to read them. She's just.
00:09:03 Jordan: Right.
00:09:03 Darius: First of all, 120 books is an accomplishment. I don't care if it's business clues.
00:09:07 Jordan: I don't care if they're ******* child children. That's a lot of ******* books.
00:09:10 Darius: I don't think I've read 120 books in the past three years combined. So it's definitely under 100.
00:09:17 Jordan: I try to do the math to figure out how to do it. And I was like, she just loves reading. Obviously, you have to love reading to just spend that much time in quiet reading. You know what I mean?
00:09:28 Darius: I saw one duty was like, half of these books are only 120 pages. I'm like, you want some hating that ****. Yeah, that's hating ****.
00:09:34 Jordan: That's really hating ****.
00:09:35 Darius: You really got to be on your hater cap to do this, man.
00:09:38 Jordan: This time you spend your holiday PVO. And the whole page thing is like, you know, it's overrated because in theory, 120 pages is a short book, which technically it is, but it's still 120 pages. You know what I'm saying? There's still 300 words a page times 120. Do the math. You know, that's that's a lot of vocabulary and context and content that she's taking in, you know, and also people forget the point of what reading actually is about, like and the benefits of reading, like increase your vocabulary, increase your attention span, increases your empathy, which obviously that person did not read a lot this year because he did not seem to be very empathetic. Yeah, it's just crazy.
00:10:20 Darius: Yeah, man, like, don't don't. Don't police what people read. Be happy that they're reading. they could be doing a lot worse things. And also just let women enjoy things. Like you don't like the books they read. You don't like the fact that they take selfies. You don't want them to eat off your plate. You don't like their meat. You don't like the TV show. Have you considered dating men? I feel like you would be happy.
00:10:43 Jordan: I think that's what some TV should think about. and take into consideration because what are you so mad about? Even like you saw that tweet where someone was like reading is anti-intellectual. I was like, what? I think it's just be typing because it's free.
00:10:56 Darius: Like, really what it is. Now reading is stupid.
00:11:00 Jordan: And they should be reading because it's free.
00:11:02 Darius: Now we've reached, we've come full circle and now reading is stupid. Like you just, when you see something like that, it's like, I don't even know what to say. This is just.
00:11:11 Jordan: I honestly, I thought I read it backwards. Like I thought like. He missed a conjugation or ****** ** the contraction and meant to say it is intellectual. I was I had to read it five times to make sure he was saying what he was what I thought he was saying. He got roasted though. All the readers were like, we see who didn't have a library card. Yeah.
00:11:27 Darius: You know, I will say that I think when I see these giant collections of physical books, to me, that's just hoarding. Like, I don't understand. Like, it just looks like clutter, you know?
00:11:42 Jordan: Yeah.
00:11:44 Darius: To me, it's like, do you still drive your car with your feet? Like, we've solved this issue with technology now. You don't have to have all of this **** in your ******* spare bedroom.
00:11:56 Jordan: Yeah. I would advise just going to Barnes and Noble, wherever your bookstore you like and taking pictures of the books or writing down the title and then just copping them on whatever you use, Kindle, Audible, whatever. ebooks, whatever you want to do. Certainly, certainly cheaper because I bought 5 books, four or five books at a bookstore 2 books ago. And I was like 120 bucks.
00:12:16 Darius: So Physical books are take up too much space. They cost 5 times as much. It limits your range in the sense that like if I have my Kindle when I'm going someplace, like I can't bring five.
00:12:31 Jordan: Books with you anywhere.
00:12:32 Darius: Like I throw my Kindle in my work backpack and like my whole library is with me. Whenever I feel like reading, I can read. It's different to me than why I don't personally do this because again, I hate clutter. I understand why people keep like Blu-ray collections because streaming really does **** ** the visual and the audio quality. There is no quality drop off from reading a digital book. Like you're just hoarding to me. But keep reading. If you're reading, if that's how you like to read, go for it. I find the only people who... I find the only people who prefer physical books over digital books are those who don't own a Kindle. Cause once you own one, you're like, yeah, this is a million times better experience. It's like, it's like, you're not gonna go back to like an actual physical car key. Like when you first had to push the start, you were like, I don't like this. It's like, no, just try it. You'll enjoy it. It's a better experience.
00:13:25 Jordan: That's fair. But I also, I also know people who like, who are like, I need to physically have the have it. I need to like turn the page. Like that's like a, I don't know if it's a cognitive thing or just like a nostalgia thing like some people just really had to like touch touch something that they're, you know, ingesting to really get the full experience.
00:13:44 Darius: I would venture to guess they just don't have a Kindle. And if they got one or an iPad or whatever and started reading on there, they would quickly find out that they don't miss the turnkey on the car and pushing it is just fine. So What is IG just broken forever?
00:14:06 Jordan: It wants to be TikTok so bad.
00:14:08 Darius: The sheer volume of unfunny reels and skits on like just opening the app and I don't even search for the slop like it's just it's just there. It's just there now and I used to have to it used to be on a different tab and now it's just there. Yeah. And what happened? Did I miss a memo?
00:14:30 Jordan: I feel like my **** is, it's like everything's sponsored now. So I'm just like swiping through to get to something that is seems remotely authentic or organic. And honestly, the way they've done the reels now, there's a whole reels tab or Yeah, tab, basically. I actually forget which app I'm on when I'm on Instagram now. Like, in my head, I think I'm on TikTok. Yeah. And I go on TikTok to spend time on TikTok. I don't want to try to spend time on Instagram. I'm usually trying to be on there for maybe 30 to 45 seconds at a time. And then I'll be like, oh, wait, I'm in the wrong app.
00:15:01 Darius: And like, some, of these, I mean, I'm not gonna, I'm not too good for it. I'll do watch some of them, but I'm just like, There's no way he thought this was funny. Like there's just no way. Yeah.
00:15:13 Jordan: And also, well, and also half the time it's **** that went viral 2 weeks ago on TikTok. So there's that.
00:15:20 Darius: Dude, I saw, it was one comedian. I don't remember his name. He just does like just stale comic view, white people do this, black people do that comedy.
00:15:29 Jordan: Oh, I think I know what you're talking about. Yeah.
00:15:31 Darius: And the other day, man, it was, he posted, it was like how white people unplug vacuum versus black people. And I'm like, all right, like you don't have to post. You don't have nothing to say.
00:15:43 Jordan: That's funny.
00:15:43 Darius: I was like, all right, man. If you don't have any good ideas, it's okay to take a day off.
00:15:48 Jordan: Yeah, that's fine. You don't got to be the algorithm every day.
00:15:52 Darius: It's just like if you find yourself recording a skit about unplugging a vacuum, maybe give it a little rest.
00:15:58 Jordan: Yeah, just chill out. Yeah, I feel that way about the communities who only post crowd work. Yeah. Like I like crowd work, but if that's like your only I don't really consider you a comedian.
00:16:10 Darius: Yeah.
00:16:11 Jordan: Because what are you creating?
00:16:12 Darius: I think crowd work comedians are like rappers with the backing track. It's like, all right. Yeah, I came here.
00:16:19 Jordan: You've been singing for a year.
00:16:20 Darius: Let me open it up.
00:16:22 Jordan: You got no friends.
00:16:24 Darius: Women be shopping. If there's like an interracial couple in the front row, it's like, okay, here's 30 minutes of cheap last. Right, there's 30 minutes of content. Yeah, It's just like, dude.
00:16:42 Jordan: Whose church service is shorter?
00:16:43 Darius: Yeah. When white people go to break, they come back on time. When black people go to break, we break. Oh my God.
00:16:50 Jordan: We don't go on break until we get our food. Yeah.
00:16:54 Darius: Oh my God, dude.
00:16:58 Jordan: Let's get right through those.
00:17:01 Darius: Speaking of IG reel sinners, I saw a reel the other day from Erica sent it to me today. And it was, the question was, which modern song? So the sinners for the five people in the world who haven't seen the movie, who didn't see it. There's a now famous montage in the movie where they basically go through like the history of black music. And It's almost supernatural in a way. if you haven't seen it by now, I don't, you should crawl from under the rock. I haven't seen it.
00:17:34 Jordan: It's literally the best scene of the year.
00:17:36 Darius: Yeah. To me, the best movie of the year. And I have seen everything but Marty Supreme, which I'm going to go see this week. So, yeah, I'm going to go check that out. Pending later, we will discuss our movies of the year as the Oscar season gets around. But nonetheless, the question in the reel was which modern song would have made that montage if they were to make a modern song in the montage.
00:18:00 Jordan: Yeah, I got a few options. One of them, I can't remember the name title. My mom would kill me if she saw this, but it's the Mary J. Blanche song in this dancery. I can't remember what it's actually called. Hateration, holleration. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That song. That would be one. This is how we do it for sure.
00:18:24 Darius: Okay.
00:18:24 Jordan: And I just love that song. It makes me feel good. You're walking.
00:18:27 Darius: My, my, my observation. Go ahead. Finish.
00:18:37 Jordan: I mean, I think probably maybe like just like on some kickback ****. I love that song Studio by Schoolboy Q.
00:18:44 Darius: Okay. Okay. Millennials.
00:18:47 Jordan: It's a little more R&B vibe.
00:18:49 Darius: Millennials. Let me hold your hand. He asked for a modern song and somebody said back that *** up.
00:18:57 Jordan: Oh, Michael B Jordan said back that *** up. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He did say modern. I'm tripping. Yeah, you're right.
00:19:02 Darius: And you said this is how we do it. Millennials are the old people in the club, man. I need y'all to understand that Juvenile is eligible for a discount at Golden Corral. Like he's a grandfather.
00:19:17 Jordan: Okay, so modern, okay, modern, like modern party songs, modern party songs.
00:19:21 Darius: We the old in the club, like we'll play, turn that off and put that Juvenile on. I need y'all to understand that to kids, back that *** up is like what our parents played doing the bump. Like that's. Right, yeah, It is ancient history.
00:19:39 Jordan: No, it really is. It is.
00:19:41 Darius: He asked for a modern song and everyone was like, this is how we do it. Put on hot and earth. It was like back that *** up, bro. That came out in 97. You understand?
00:19:57 Jordan: My favorite part though was how quick Michael B. Jordan answered the question. He was like, I got it.
00:20:02 Darius: You put that song on at the Millennium Party right now and we go get some WD-40 for our knees. I teach y'all to understand we are old. We are the old. He asked for a modern song and y'all named **** that came out 20 years ago.
00:20:16 Jordan: You're right. I didn't even think about that. Okay, so then what is, do you have a modern song that you would play for that much? Michael B. Jordan.
00:20:23 Darius: I don't know.
00:20:24 Jordan: I just knew that our **** was old. Hold on, we gotta fix this. There's gotta be a modern song that we, a party song that we can think of.
00:20:33 Darius: Put on that word party at jagged in.
00:20:36 Jordan: Yeah, ****. Right. Big Pimpin.
00:20:42 Darius: You said this is how we do it.
00:20:45 Jordan: That's crazy. Well, I thought about Dreams and Nightmares, but that's not really like a kickback vibe kind of song, you know, where like everybody gets up dancing. Yeah, that too. It's also not a new song. I don't even know what I would pick now.
00:21:00 Darius: I'm actually you were if a movie came out in 2002 and someone answered that question with, I'll put on that Bell Biv DeVoe. Like, yeah, put on poison. Yeah, Never trust a big bunch of smile.
00:21:15 Jordan: Yeah. And they'd be like, no, modern.
00:21:18 Darius: Yeah. I mean, like, came out this century.
00:21:21 Jordan: Just okay. ****. I probably I probably go like. **** this song's 10 years old too. ****. I would have said Party by Chris Brown and Usher. But that's 10 years old.
00:21:38 Darius: We are so washed. We don't even. man, I just thought that's so funny because the way he answered it and the way the interviewer responded, you would have thought back that *** up was like summer 2024.
00:21:53 Jordan: You're right. You're right.
00:21:55 Darius: It was like, y'all don't understand. We're old, man.
00:21:59 Jordan: Okay, so, okay, so, okay, so then, so a modern song lasts like 2 years. Probably Nokia, maybe Nokia or Struckle Up, maybe TV off.
00:22:10 Darius: Nah. And honestly, Nokia would have been a bigger hit if the beef didn't happen because that was right. Peak Drake. I don't know. Two years.
00:22:23 Jordan: Two years.
00:22:23 Darius: Something probably from Boss Mandelo.
00:22:27 Jordan: Get in with me. Yeah. Or what's the song? No, the song with Sexy Red.
00:22:31 Darius: It is sexy. Yeah.
00:22:35 Jordan: No, the song he has was Sexy Red. **** I can't remember what it's called. But yeah.
00:22:41 Darius: Probably one of the, something to buy one of the ***** rappers. So Sexy Red, Gorilla, Meg, Cardi. I mean, that's, I'm not, that's not my purview, but you know.
00:22:52 Jordan: Right, probably, like FNF or GIFs.
00:22:58 Darius: Yeah, man, maybe.
00:22:59 Jordan: Yeah, two or three years, yeah, or TGIF.
00:23:02 Darius: Yeah, okay, I'll say that.
00:23:03 Jordan: Yeah, TGIF probably, actually, yeah.
00:23:05 Darius: If he closes that montage with Meg and Gorilla's wannabe, I think that would have fit.
00:23:11 Jordan: Yeah, that would work. But definitely not the floor. A lot of.
00:23:16 Darius: Maybe. But there's just millennials. I'm going to hold your hand again. There's nothing modern about back that *** up like.
00:23:23 Jordan: That is actually crazy.
00:23:25 Darius: Juvenile is pushing. He did say modern.
00:23:31 Jordan: Yeah.
00:23:32 Darius: And even the interviewer didn't know that. That's not like it was just.
00:23:36 Jordan: He was like, that's my choice too.
00:23:38 Darius: He was like, we can end this interview right now. That's my ****.
00:23:43 Jordan: Yeah. Ryan Coogler had the only like reasonable answer and he couldn't even remember the name of the song. Yeah. He was like, wait, there's a girl on it at the end. I was like, that's not, that's helpful. Okay.
00:23:53 Darius: I know that song. It's terrible. But YB isn't for me. So.
00:23:57 Jordan: Right. I feel you the same.
00:23:58 Darius: Want to talk about Jim working out?
00:24:01 Jordan: Yeah. Yes, I was working out the other day and when I was thinking about like how it's kind of changed my, changing my relationship with like patients and with failure, like realizing that you're going to feel the results before you see the results. Like you're going to move up in the weight you're able to move before you're going to see the muscles come through or before you're going to see like a significant weight loss, things of that nature. So I wanted to ask you if it's changed how you view pain and or failure.
00:24:34 Darius: First I will say you're always the last person to feel or see the results. Like I could tell you look smaller now than when you first started living. I saw you in person last Friday and I was drunk, but I admit to tell you that you're looking good, man. So you're always going to appreciate it. takes people who don't see you for a while to bring it up. And so you see yourself every day. So you're always going to be the last person to notice. And there'll be like a time where you're just like, walking in your house past a mirror and you're like, that's me. And those are the things that happen. It's never, you're not going to see it in a mirror day-to-day. How do I deal with the pain? I don't really know how to answer that question, man. It does, the soreness does, I don't know, I just view the soreness as part of the journey. You have to know the difference between soreness and injury. But I tell people this, injuries are part of the process in the sense that obviously you don't want to tear things, but you're stressing your muscles, you're stressing your joints, your tendons, and you're going to have to do some mobility work and some stretching to work that stuff out. So I don't really know how to deal with the man. I just, I'm just really used to it and your body gets conditioned for it. And I just know the difference between something being, and I just know, honestly, a lot of lifts I've just cut out from the rotation because there's been like, balances and as you get older, different muscles can handle different kind of stress. But I don't see, I don't think to me is if I get to the gym, I didn't fail anything. Like sometimes I'll just work out for 20 minutes and I can't find the right song, the podcast, I don't want to hear any ****. And I'm just, I just know there I'm just going to go. I'm just checking these boxes to get out of here. And some days I feel like an Avenger. And but as long as I get there, that I won. If you arrive there, you won. If you got off your couch and you got dressed and you went to the gym and you walked in there and you walked on the treadmill for 5 minutes, I don't you didn't fail to me. Yeah. And so I don't like to frame it that way. Like obviously some workouts are gonna be better than others, but you're not gonna crush every workout that you do. It's just not a, it's not realistic. It's not, it's not gonna happen. So not a good answer, but that's what the answer I have. How's the journey, man? How's the journey? How you doing with the soreness? What's the worst soreness you've had so far?
00:27:10 Jordan: The soreness is for the most part is gone. I don't really have feel that anymore. I did like legs for the, because I've been, because my goal had for less for November and January. Wow. November and December was to do 100 miles both of those respective months. So I was like, I'm not doing legs. So I started doing legs again and I was pretty sore for a couple of days after maybe like last week or before last. Yeah, my quads were like, they were done. Other than that, I feel pretty good. I did notice or because I've been watching, I watch it on YouTube, kind of find new workouts. I like to try to keep it, keep it interesting, keep it, keep it different. And I realized that I'd been like lifting wrong. And that was causing me to have like shoulder pain. They were like, I've been, I've been doing this like with a lot of workouts when I should have been doing this.
00:27:56 Darius: Way overloading your front delts.
00:27:58 Jordan: Correct. And so I was like, oh, that's why my arms don't feel bad with my shoulders, feel like death. So yeah, that's fixed a lot of my pain and obviously made me able to do a lot more weight. A lot of people press more consistently.
00:28:12 Darius: Yeah, a lot of people press with their arms and isolating your chest is difficult. It's easier on machines. It's harder with free weights, but just like I mean, Even lifting it incorrectly, as long as it's not like causing an injury, you're still working your arms. Like, so that's why I would just say just going.
00:28:29 Jordan: It's not a bad thing.
00:28:30 Darius: Because going is going to make you want to fine tweak it. You're going to be like, okay, my chest is lagging. My, you know, my rear delts are lagging. How do I do this? And then you'll be like, oh, I'm lifting that wrong. And so that's why, you should just go and even doing it wrong is still a workout and then you'll learn how to do it right, so.
00:28:50 Jordan: Correct. And it's a lot like kind of what they say, like in therapy, like everything connects. Like, so, the more I do shoulders and the more I do triceps, the better my chest workouts are, the easier time I have with more weight. You know what I'm saying? So like I'm actually like, Okay, I'm like, okay, I need to go up and weight more. Like I'm feeling a little too light now. Like dumbbells that felt heavy or felt like I maybe told you three sets of eight instead of four sets of 10. I'm like, oh, I need to go up. This feels too light now, which feels really good. And that's kind of the win, you know, for me is like, okay, I can do more weight. And it's like, The weights, the dumbbells that looked intimidating to me at one point, they're now part of my everyday, becoming part of my everyday, not everyday routine, but my routine on a regular basis, which was good. Even like, you know, doing cardio, there were times where I'm like running or walking, whatever, and I'm like, I'm not tired, right? This used to ******* kill me, you know? And that feels really, really good.
00:29:43 Darius: You know what it's like, it's like you play a video game and the way video games are structured is your character learns new moves and gets new skills and gets stronger as you progress through the level, but the levels get harder to match your character's skill level.
00:29:59 Jordan: Correct.
00:29:59 Darius: It's like going back to an earlier level, all strong and with all your extra moves and all the new gear and just correcting it. It's like, it feels good to be strong amongst, you know, level one and level 2. That's right. I mean, I say, I tell people, video gamify the gym. You know, it's like, Three sets of eight with 50s this week. Even if it's 52 and a half next week, that's progression. And so it's a way your character's getting stronger.
00:30:26 Jordan: Yeah, or even like sometimes I'll do like whatever weight I'm doing, I'll do that. And then I'll be like, at the end, I'll go up 5 or 10 pounds and just see what I can do with that and be like, okay, all right, cool. I'm not like afraid of that weight and putting on more weight anymore. And then in a week or two, I'll be able to make that my new you know, routine weight to do.
00:30:48 Darius: That's how it works, man. You want to talk about some sports? Do you want to fill some time?
00:30:53 Jordan: Yeah, we feel time. **** it.
00:30:54 Darius: All right, let's. We are at 844, so I'll cut out that little 10 minute. 844, I'm starting at 8:05. All right, throw some tweets at me.
00:31:10 Jordan: So soft tweet. brought to mind a few people. And the tweet goes, dudes be like, bring some *******. Like I do sex trafficking.
00:31:25 Darius: Yeah.
00:31:25 Jordan: It's like, why can't you find your own women? Why I gotta do it for you?
00:31:30 Darius: Also, like you said, like I do sex trafficking. Like we live in a movie where I, listen, I d
