[00:00:00]Darius: Welcome to Out the Trunk with Jordan and Darius. My name is Darius. That's Dee's all up in the area on all socials.

[00:00:06]Jordan: And I'm Jordan. This Jordan will be writing on all socials.

[00:00:08]Darius: And this is our free flowing conversation segment of the pod. We call it What's On Our Mind where we just kind of let you guys know what's on our mind and we go around, you know, the pop culture zeitgeist and kind of give our comments. But I wanted to be real quick. start up top. I hate to start on such a somber note, but our thoughts, and if you do pray for the people in Jamaica, a catastrophic hurricane is bearing down on them as we speak. And be safe out there and our thoughts and prayers are with you. And we will move right on. So did you see the announcement that new edition Boyz II Men and Toni Braxton are going on tour?

[00:00:52]Jordan: I think we were hanging out Friday or Saturday when I saw it on Twitter. It should be a good tour, depending on how long it lasts, meaning who's going to drop out first. It also depends, is Bobby Brown going to be there or not?

[00:01:07]Darius: Well, he is. I mean, you can't do a new edition tour without Bobby Brown.

[00:01:13]Jordan: They did a few of them.

[00:01:16]Darius: I am excited at the prospects of seeing all of them.

[00:01:20]Jordan: Together, yes.

[00:01:22]Darius: But my first thought watching the trailer was, man, that's a lot of people that got to get paid. Yeah, man, that's a lot of that's looking for a check out of this. I'm like, how many ways is this money going to be split? Like it was.

[00:01:36]Jordan: And who gets the biggest cut? Like who's the biggest draw? I don't know.

[00:01:40]Darius: It's going to be about 15 people. getting the cut of this and.

[00:01:45]Jordan: Not counting like their entourages and all that, you.

[00:01:49]Darius: Know, man, this is. We'll see how long this get your tickets for the first handful of shows. Yeah, yeah, for sure.

[00:01:58]Jordan: Let's see here. How long is that tour supposed to last?

[00:02:04]Darius: It's, you know, I was like, man, that's like. 15 different tour buses, 15 different hotels. Like the expenses for this tour are going to be outrageous. Production, background dancers, musicians. How are they going to make any money? It's just a lot of people.

[00:02:27]Jordan: Let's see here. I mean, it looks like it's an arena tour. They're going to be at the United Center. So that's where the Bulls play. So it's an arena tour?

[00:02:35]Darius: I have no doubt they sell tickets. It's just.

[00:02:37]Jordan: Yeah. Let's see here. I'm trying to see if I can find like the actual, the full schedule. I mean, if everyone's there and **** like it should be a great show. Like those are, you know, that's our childhood right there.

[00:02:54]Darius: Basically. Our parents' childhood. I wasn't born. Well, fair. But that's true. Boys to Men more so, but New Edition.

[00:03:02]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:03:03]Darius: You know, I listen, I am excited, but it's just.

[00:03:06]Jordan: Oh, it's only a three month tour.

[00:03:08]Darius: It's just a lot of mouths that got to get fed. And these are a lot of volatile personalities. New additions. How many failed tours?

[00:03:15]Jordan: I'm about to say, yeah, that's...

[00:03:18]Darius: I wish I was a group. Yeah, like, you know.

[00:03:22]Jordan: Like I have faith in Boyz II Men. They seem pretty, you know, simpatico and professional and all that. Tony, I feel like she's pretty professional for what I know. Yeah, dude, this is really a wild card on that. Shouts out to them though.

[00:03:39]Darius: You know they're going to be arguing over who goes on last and who.

[00:03:45]Jordan: Gets the most solos and who gets to do their singles the most, you know. Yeah, it should be interesting.

[00:03:52]Darius: If you and I in the first handful of shows, you might want to have some alternate plans for that either.

[00:03:56]Jordan: Yeah, correct. Because these legacy acts, they never end well. Like remember when was it? Who was it? Babyface and was it Anita Baker went on tour and they were beefing like crazy?

[00:04:07]Darius: I think, Anita, something was wrong with her, something was wrong with the production, and she didn't, she was supposed, she was the headliner. But she was like treating Babyface like an opening act. Yeah.

[00:04:20]Jordan: And he's big him.

[00:04:23]Darius: Yeah. Even if you're headlining, you can't just talk to Babyface like he.

[00:04:27]Jordan: Babyface no kind of way.

[00:04:29]Darius: Yeah. Just like he's just some dude you're giving a quick 15 to off the love.

[00:04:32]Jordan: Like he's probably like a top three pin all time.

[00:04:36]Darius: Yeah. Like he was like, and Babyface took exception to that. And that's why. As he should. Yeah. I mean, honestly, he should have been headlining. I like his music much better than Nita Baker's music.

[00:04:46]Jordan: Yeah, but with all due respect.

[00:04:48]Darius: Yes. You know, it's just a wider variety of sounds in a Babyface set.

[00:04:54]Jordan: Because if you like any genre, I guarantee you he has written for somebody in that genre that you like.

[00:04:59]Darius: Including K-pop. Yes. Apparently, Teddy Riley is making a killing, selling like old...

[00:05:06]Jordan: Yeah, baby, he told me that.

[00:05:07]Darius: Yeah. to in South Korea, because I mean, ain't no market for it here.

[00:05:12]Jordan: So yeah, Babyface wrote for, I think it was Fall Out Boy, I want to say. Either Follow Boy or Panic at the Disco. One of the one of those two like big bands. But yeah, he wrote for everybody. So. Hell yeah.

[00:05:23]Darius: You check out the New Miguel album.

[00:05:26]Jordan: I've not gotten to it yet. I saw your review and that kind of dissuaded me from going to it. So I'll let you lead that conversation.

[00:05:33]Darius: I mean, it's the highs aren't very high. There's nothing that jumped out. There's no like if I were in charge of selling this album, I don't know what the single would be. Is it like 1 long song?

[00:05:48]Jordan: Is it a sound? Is it all like monotonous or?

[00:05:50]Darius: It's just, it's not monotonous. It's not. He's trying some new sounds. Angel Song is a good one. I replayed that one. But it's just, it's just kind of there, man. Like it just.

[00:06:02]Jordan: I feel like no one knew it was coming out.

[00:06:04]Darius: Well, he did a little to a run. He did Rory and Moz Pod.

[00:06:07]Jordan: Oh yeah, I did see a clip of that interview.

[00:06:09]Darius: And I'm, you know, I wouldn't call it a bad album, but it's like, if you put it on at a function, like no one would like be like, turn this **** off, but it would get no pop. Like no songs would get a pop.

[00:06:23]Jordan: No one would be like, oh, who's this? Right. What song is this?

[00:06:27]Darius: It's like, I just, you know how we say when we, when we reviewed us, like, Jordan Peele's been cashing checks off of Get Out and been using our, been cashing in on our, on the reputation from Get Out.

[00:06:49]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:06:50]Darius: I feel like we doing this with Miguel off of Kaleidoscope Dreams.

[00:06:54]Jordan: Kaleidoscope Dreams.

[00:06:58]Darius: Where's, that was 10 years ago and what, and he had, where are the hits, where the, where's the out? He's dropped three times since then. Yeah. Barely even the names of those albums. Honestly, I'd have to look it up. Yeah. And not that they were bad. They're never bad. I listen to them, but I'm just like, man, it's just kind of like watching us. I'm like, this isn't a terrible movie. But like, if Jordan Peele didn't stamp this, we would not think it was good.

[00:07:20]Jordan: You wouldn't. Okay, got you.

[00:07:22]Darius: So listen to it. It's 36 minutes. You know, it's fine.

[00:07:25]Jordan: Okay.

[00:07:25]Darius: Yeah, I can do that. But it's kind of if.

[00:07:28]Jordan: It was an hour, I'd be like, **** no. Okay.

[00:07:32]Darius: I don't ashamed.

[00:07:33]Jordan: I feel like I don't know what happened with him. Like, I don't know.

[00:07:38]Darius: You know, if you had told me six months at the Kaleidoscope dream drop that 10 years later, we'd still be waiting on something else like that. I mean, obviously, everyone has an album that they don't ever touch again. But this just yeah, it's kind of like when I left Get Out, I thought I was like, I just witnessed a star being born. And yeah, Martin Scorsese, he is not.

[00:08:03]Jordan: Okay, true. That's very true.

[00:08:05]Darius: So what's going on with Cameron and J. Cole.

[00:08:08]Jordan: Yeah, so I saw today, I was scrolling Twitter, this broke like literally 3, four hours ago. So Cameron is suing Cole for, let's see how to read the thing. He's suing him over, he was on the intro of Might Delete Later, song on one of Cole's albums. And Cameron alleges he wrote lyrics and recorded a verse for the song back in 2020, sorry, 2022 in exchange for Cole agreeing to collaborate with him on a future project or appear on Cameron's podcast. It is what it is. He claims that from July 2023 through April 2024, he repeatedly reached out to J. Cole who repeatedly told him he was unavailable, but promised podcast appearance and further collaboration never happened. Cameron further states that he has not been properly compensated for his contribution to the song and he wants a judge to formally recognize him as a co-author of Ready 2024. He is seeking a full accounting of the song's earnings, which he estimates to be in excess of $500,000. So yeah, so that's that. Apparently Cole, I guess it's like basically still has given him the Heisman over the last couple of years, allegedly.

[00:09:13]Darius: So this is the first I'm hearing about it. Having not read the lawsuit or I mean, I don't know either of these people. I don't know why Cameron would do all of this if he was lying. Right. It strikes me.

[00:09:25]Jordan: I've never known him to be a liar.

[00:09:29]Darius: You know, it's not free to file a lawsuit.

[00:09:33]Jordan: Correct.

[00:09:33]Darius: At least, I mean, it's very cheap. And so we've had that discussion, but this kind of lawsuit where he's, I mean, that's obviously written by an attorney. That's not him. Just Right, for sure. Yeah, that's clear. Like those attorneys aren't free. They're working on retainer $500 an hour, $1000 an hour.

[00:09:49]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:09:50]Darius: He has a reputation to uphold because he, his, you know, what he says matters. He has a hip hop podcast. If he's known to be someone filing frivolous lawsuits that could impact his ability to book other guests.

[00:10:02]Jordan: Correct. No one wants to go out like Drake.

[00:10:04]Darius: Correct. And having not heard J. Cole's version of Vince, because there's three sides to every story. I don't know why Cameron would do all this if he just is making this up. That doesn't sound.

[00:10:15]Jordan: Yeah, I don't think he's making it up. I'm a little surprised that Cole would, if allegedly, you know, based on the reports that Cole would just kind of like he break from it. That doesn't really seem like him from what I hear from everybody.

[00:10:27]Darius: And furthermore, the dollar amount isn't like.

[00:10:31]Jordan: Outrageous.

[00:10:31]Darius: Yeah. Like it's just like he clearly just wants what he was paying, what they read to. I don't know Cam's finances, but I'm sure 500 bands isn't making a break in him. And so if he was suing for $500 million, I'd be like, all right, he's.

[00:10:46]Jordan: Doing the dame ****. It'd be like, okay, you're ********.

[00:10:48]Darius: Yeah. He's clearly just like, look, just take me what you owe me.

[00:10:52]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:10:53]Darius: So yeah, man, I mean, when you deal with what I bet happened, J. Cole is kind of used to like, cause Cam is like 50 something years old, right? And J. Cole is our age, mid-30s, maybe I think literally my age of 37.

[00:11:11]Jordan: Yeah, I think he is, yeah.

[00:11:12]Darius: And J. Cole is probably used to like an informal back channel. I got you.

[00:11:17]Jordan: A little swapper.

[00:11:18]Darius: Nah, man, I'm a grown man. We do business over here. Yeah, no, yeah, No swappies, no, like we had an agreement. and you did not adhere to it. And no, I don't stick to your, like I get your reclusive and you don't like you're not outside and that, but an agreement is an agreement. And we'll see what comes of it. Because J. Cole's reputation is pretty sterling.

[00:11:39]Jordan: Yeah, I mean, it's taking a hit the last year, years have changed, but other than that, it's pretty spotless. So that'll be interesting to see how that shakes out, but I'm sure they'll figure it out in the end.

[00:11:50]Darius: They'll probably settle out of court.

[00:11:52]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:11:52]Darius: Because nobody wants their dirty laundry aired.

[00:11:55]Jordan: No, not at all.

[00:11:58]Darius: Well, just quick aside, J. Cole ended Dreams Fest, right?

[00:12:03]Jordan: Dreamville. Dreamville, sorry. Dreamville Fest. Yeah.

[00:12:05]Darius: Yes. My theory is that because he's no longer a draw as a headline of a festival. Like.

[00:12:13]Jordan: So I've heard conflicting **** about that because I first I was told that it's because they were turning Dorothy Dix Park into that area of the park, some sort of like a complex, apartment complex or something like that. And then I saw that they actually were still going to do a festival. It's just not, it's supposed to Dreamville. So I don't know if that was a ploy to just get everybody to go one last time for one last hurrah type ****. But I think that's also a factor too, because you're from North Carolina. So everyone in this state has seen you at least three times, most likely, you know, you don't drop the music.

[00:12:42]Darius: So it's the same set list.

[00:12:44]Jordan: Correct.

[00:12:45]Darius: How many times could I hear you perform the first verse of Power Trip?

[00:12:49]Jordan: Yeah. And he doesn't, I mean, he's gotten Drake obviously. And I mean, the artists he gets, they either flake or they're late or it's like a 30 minute set. So like, you know, it's just not as much of A draw. And also to me at least, I've been a couple of times. And I love music festivals, but going to one in like your home, like your hometown is not really exciting because part of the fun is like traveling and getting a hotel and eating a new restaurant and all that. And like we can get at home to go drive 20 minutes to go in a park. Like it was something's luster.

[00:13:20]Darius: It's not hot in April.

[00:13:21]Jordan: But it used to be cold as **** honestly. This is like right before spring officially like starts.

[00:13:26]Darius: I have been to two music festivals and I understand why? I understand the allure, but it's just not for me. Also, I have a theory that like, unless the artist is like the headliner, they're just mailing it in, especially if it's a rapper. Like it's just, that's a true, that's a fact. You know, they just, that's like a club appearance to them. They just showing up doing a quick low 20, like I've seen. I've seen rappers perform when they're when they're booked for a show. And the effort is just totally different than when they do these festival stage unless they're headline. If they're headlining, they bring their game.

[00:14:00]Jordan: Yeah, they're headlining. Yeah, that's true. Because I remember like when I last time I went, Nikki was like an hour late and and like every girl there was just staying to see her. So like ******* Nikki Chance broke out and she finally came out on stage and she got to do her full set because it was like a 45 minute break between her set and Cole set. So the girls, they could hear what they wanted to hear. But yeah, it's just, it's not always worth the squeeze on that one.

[00:14:28]Darius: Well, I mean, yeah. I mean, honestly, the festival is all about the booking. And J. Cole is big enough to get to get, you know, good artists. But yeah, like you said, part of the fun of the festival is the trip and being in the middle of nowhere. And if you're just driving 20 minutes from the crib, just kind of, you know.

[00:14:48]Jordan: Yes, you're driving, you're parking where you always swatch you always hang out at. So you pregame at the regular, like a regular spot, then you go to the field at like, you know. Yeah, it's just like, it's almost like a high school reunion because you just see everybody that you still see around town.

[00:15:02]Darius: Fair. Fair enough. RIP to Dreamville Festival. Did you watch the verses on Saturday?

[00:15:09]Jordan: No, we're allowed outside now. So my time with verses is done. I no longer have to pretend like that's like some cool **** to do, to be honest with you.

[00:15:20]Darius: Oh, a mutual friend. Erica asked me if I was going to watch it, and I was like, I just feel like Versus was for a specific time and place. Yeah, I just don't. Okay, so if you're going to do it now, I'm probably out either way, but like you can't set it up for Saturday night. No one's sitting on home on a Saturday night watching an internet concert. Like that's not TV.

[00:15:46]Jordan: Yeah, I'm not doing that.

[00:15:47]Darius: In the middle of a college football Saturday of the World Series, NBA game.

[00:15:51]Jordan: Basketball just started.

[00:15:53]Darius: Hey dude, that's not, you gotta throw that ***** on a Wednesday night.

[00:15:56]Jordan: It's about to get cold again. We're all drunk like our last weekends out.

[00:15:59]Darius: You know, it's just, it's a tough sell. Like I appreciate it versus for what it was. It held me down. It gave us a lot of memories, but Even if I'm in the crib, I just, I'm not watching a concert on a screen this big. And, it's like, I just, I'm just going to watch a movie or something. I don't want to watch this. Like, Right?

[00:16:20]Jordan: Yeah. It'd be one thing if it was like the pop out, like that was insane, but, and also they all like 50 and ****. Like I just wasn't super excited about it.

[00:16:31]Darius: Then I saw the clip and then everyone's rapping over vocals, over backing vocals. It's 75 on stage.

[00:16:39]Jordan: You're about to say yeah.

[00:16:41]Darius: And just like the gimmick of it, we were able to spend belief during COVID. But like now it's just like, I'm just watching a concert. They're not, there's no battle. There's no like, yeah.

[00:16:53]Jordan: It's like new music. It's no releases, new releases.

[00:16:57]Darius: It's like, it's just karaoke. It's just karaoke.

[00:17:00]Jordan: It's rich people doing karaoke.

[00:17:03]Darius: And I just don't have, I mean, they're not charging for us or whatever, but it's just, I don't have any interest in watching that. And yeah, it's just, I agree. It's like normal wrestling is fake. Like I just, the gimmick is worn off and I don't really care anymore.

[00:17:16]Jordan: Yeah, it's cool. Like I still follow the pretty girls on Twitter, but like I don't need to watch the ******* you know. Yeah, it's just, The days of us being like enamored to see like Jill Scott in her room singing, those days are over.

[00:17:29]Darius: And there was a almost a community aspect to it because you felt like they were in the house too. And then once it went to venues, don't get me wrong, I still watched a few of them, but like it lost a little bit of its charm because it wasn't one. It felt real one for all, for one at the time.

[00:17:44]Jordan: Right.

[00:17:46]Darius: And no, I mean.

[00:17:49]Jordan: It felt like being on Zoom with your heroes, you know?

[00:17:52]Darius: And you could live tweet it because everyone was inside and now, Twitter ain't what it is anymore.

[00:17:59]Jordan: That's true too.

[00:18:00]Darius: Social media ain't even social no more.

[00:18:02]Jordan: That's a fact. It's all ads and strangers.

[00:18:04]Darius: All ads and it's just TV now. Like you're just watching TV. You're watching other people make scripted content. That's just television. Correct. They just social media.

[00:18:15]Jordan: Everything is scripted now.

[00:18:16]Darius: It's just become television. And so I am fighting the good fight though. Like on Instagram, I pretty much only follow people I know in real life. I don't really do too much. And like, I'll look at the for you real page here and there.

[00:18:32]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:18:33]Darius: And mine is most because it's curated to what you like. Right. So it's just gym sneakers, cooking and ***. And it's like, you know, I've seen all those videos. It just, I'm fighting a good fight. Like my posts, are just actually of me and things that I enjoy and I only follow people that I know. So and I do the same with Twitter. But yeah, all of this television now you just go to those reels and it's just feeding people I don't know, making scripted content, which is just watching TV. Right.

[00:19:04]Jordan: It's like a really bad SNL. Well, SNL is not great. So it's like SNL. Yeah.

[00:19:11]Darius: Another thing too, that should only be good. When's the last time someone sent you a reel and it actually made you laugh? Like not the token chuckle, not the haha.

[00:19:20]Jordan: Right.

[00:19:21]Darius: An involuntary laugh.

[00:19:25]Jordan: It's been a little while. It's been a little while. And even the funny I will say this, the funny ones that my friends do send me, they're the kind of it's the kind of **** you can't even post your story because it would be offensive to people. Like, you know what I mean? Like, or you just look crazy for like liking that kind of ****.

[00:19:39]Darius: Like, yeah, it's just, I'm like, I just, I forget who pointed out to me. I was like, this **** ain't even good. When's the last time you laughed at one? And I was like, man.

[00:19:47]Jordan: No, you see the double, the double, double whole laughing emoji.

[00:19:54]Darius: My one of my good friends from home back home. He's a fireman, right? And you know how firemanships are like Three days on, three days off, because they, sleep at the firehouse. I could tell when he's on, man, because he'd be sending me all kinds of GIFs and ****. What?

[00:20:12]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:20:13]Darius: Dog, I hope that someone called 911, please.

[00:20:16]Jordan: No. Hey, anyone out there, please set something on fire in the Minnesota area. What city is Minneapolis? Minneapolis, Minneapolis. Hey, someone is, yeah, please set some **** on fire.

[00:20:29]Darius: Give these something to do. I'm trying to think, what was the last reel that actually made me laugh? No houses, though. Oh, yeah, yes. Don't commit any crimes.

[00:20:41]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:20:42]Darius: You know, like, you know, get the cat stuck in a tree or something. You know, something real, real safe, but gives them something to do. I'm not going to scroll and look for reels. That's bad audio, but Yes, I don't know how we got there from Versus, but RIP, it was for a time and a place. Someone was like, what's the next Versus? And we were like, no, man.

[00:21:05]Jordan: I feel like I'm getting harassed at this point. Like I don't care anymore. I really, really don't like we should make a tombstone like versus 2019 to 2022.

[00:21:15]Darius: The last good one was Omarion versus Mario. And that's not like that was good because they were so bad. It wasn't.

[00:21:23]Jordan: That one sucked. Like it wasn't even. It was like. Wish I had a million bucks.

[00:21:29]Darius: Just howling. Also, Ray J, my guy.

[00:21:33]Jordan: Please stop. Please stop.

[00:21:35]Darius: Time to hit that 800 number, man. I know stronger when I see it. Time to hit that 800 number. You know, like if someone is listening that loves Ray J, time for that little intervention.

[00:21:47]Jordan: Hey Brandy, I know you're not that cool, but like get your brother, man.

[00:21:51]Darius: Every time I see the he's either crying or making a complete *** of himself on stage. And that is not a person that looks well.

[00:21:59]Jordan: He's either he's either the greatest marketer of all time or he or he's genuinely like losing his ****. And I can't tell.

[00:22:06]Darius: He is unwell. I know what unwell looks like. He is deeply unwell.

[00:22:11]Jordan: He cracked out.

[00:22:13]Darius: He's on that stuff. I'm not going to speculate as to what stuff.

[00:22:21]Jordan: Yeah, we don't know what stuff.

[00:22:23]Darius: But you know that I I venture to guess he has not been sober in public in quite a while. It reminds me, man. So I actually meant to bring this up into Versus. I saw someone was like, RIP, you know, three people from the cash money versus a Versus. I'm a tie this in like people don't actually care about murder that much. And the end of the caption was like, RIP, so and so and so and so and so. Free C murder, free mystical. And the quote tweet was, no, I'll leave mystical in there. And it, you know, obviously that quote tweet was quite popular. And I agree, mystical belongs in prison. But we are way, it is striking to me that no one objected to free C murder. Who, like, we will just do not care about like **** ******* and murdering. Like, no.

[00:23:13]Jordan: They don't. It's so weird.

[00:23:15]Darius: My follow tweet was like, people will boycott a Brian McKnight concert for whatever he did.

[00:23:22]Jordan: Being a ****** father.

[00:23:23]Darius: But pack it out for Young Thug. And I just want to know how you square those two things. I don't understand it.

[00:23:29]Jordan: I don't get it.

[00:23:31]Darius: How is Young Thug not like, how is what Young Thug did not disqualifying, but what Brian McKnight did is disqualifying. I just want to explain that to me.

[00:23:39]Jordan: No, it's actually ******* crazy to me. Like, I have a homeboy. who's like a huge Young Thug fan. Like when he got out, he was like, yes, like, you know, like he like is a big and I'm like, dude, he like killed people, like, kind of, you know.

[00:23:55]Darius: Terrorize the black community for a decade. And it's fine. If you if you just say I like the music, that's fine. But I just want to know what are the it's so we.

[00:24:03]Jordan: Can't act like these are good people.

[00:24:05]Darius: No, just like if you separate the art artists, cool, whatever. Whatever you want to do, whatever you want to do. I just ask for some consistency because you cannot boycott a private night concert and then pack it out for Young Thug and tell me that you are any way logically consistent.

[00:24:21]Jordan: And you know what, I'm glad you said this. I'm going to say this since it might be a little controversial. So whatever. Like all those, and I went to the Chris Brown show. Okay. He's, I love his music. He's obviously not a hero or a ******* role model. You know what I'm saying? But there were the women in there who are singing his music word for word, bar for bar, Oz versus, oh my God, he's so fun. They posted another story, oh my God, there go my husband. But y'all are the same people who don't want to listen to Tory Lanez and want him canceled forever.

[00:24:45]Darius: I just want someone to square.

[00:24:46]Jordan: These things to me. The math is not mathing here. The math ain't mathing, bro. Okay? Because tell me how that picture of Rihanna is worse than Megan's foot, please. And I'm not doing struggle Olympics at all. I'm just saying your daughter came home with those injuries. Correct. I agree. it's like we can compartmentalize all day because I do it too. Like I'm guilty of it too. But it's like you got to, if you're going to compartmentalize for all, it makes you compartmentalize for all.

[00:25:12]Darius: Because they throw a tension when someone posts like free Tory on Instagram. And it's like, first of all, do you think a judge is going to read that video? Like, oh my God, it's time to, like, come on. Furthermore, like, so his friends are upset that he's in prison.

[00:25:29]Jordan: Right.

[00:25:31]Darius: You think all the saying is that, like, it does not shock me that some of Tory Lanez's friends who were friends with him before the incident are sending shows of support to him in prison while he is down. Like, that is not, you know, insane. It's not insane. Writing letters to a judge, character letters to a judge. I mean, show me when any one of those is ever, like they don't work. It's just something that they can do to feel close to someone that they love. And you just have to deal with that. Like, that's fine. He's in prison. He did wrong. He's in prison. Everything that you would want. Obviously, you wouldn't want anyone to be shot. But if you were shot, you cannot ask for more than what happened to Tory Lights. He was promptly investigated, arrested, prosecuted, charged, went to prison.

[00:26:14]Jordan: Yeah, we're done. He got seven years.

[00:26:16]Darius: We're done here.

[00:26:16]Jordan: He's going to get deported when he gets out. I don't know what we can be done here.

[00:26:20]Darius: That's his system worked.

[00:26:21]Jordan: Like, yes, the system got it right.

[00:26:24]Darius: The system worked.

[00:26:25]Jordan: But it's just crazy to me because I'm like, y'all can't sit up here and, you know, be sad about Dirk getting caught and then complain about ******* whoever, you know, who did some **** that obviously was not his best at that, you know what I mean? Allegedly. Yeah.

[00:26:43]Darius: I just want some consistency in the logic.

[00:26:46]Jordan: Yeah, I do agree with that. Yeah.

[00:26:50]Darius: All right. So did you see... Gee Wilson, right there. Did you see... There was a tweet of a... It was clearly, I think it was a white couple, white woman, white man, and they were the twins from centers. I forget. Oh, no, they're both girls. Smoke a stack, smoke a stack, both girls.

[00:27:10]Jordan: Yeah.

[00:27:10]Darius: And Delori Lindo's character was the joke in the the meme. Yeah, it was the meme to make us look confused.

[00:27:17]Jordan: And people were very offended.

[00:27:22]Darius: I'll just read the tweet that I retweeted that kind of perfectly encapsulate my feelings and I want to properly.

[00:27:28]Jordan: We might have seen the same tweet. Let me see.

[00:27:35]Darius: Just terrible audio, but it's one that needs to be specific. At AO Tristan said, they're fictional characters and no black faces involved. The call stands, you have been charged a timeout.

[00:27:50]Jordan: Yeah, I saw them. I saw them. Yeah, so I did see why that one post that was mad about it posted it. So apparently someone commented, I think it was, it went viral, I think on Instagram first. Sorry, not Instagram, TikTok first. And somebody commented, well, at least they're not doing black face. And then the people who made the post, the two girls like liked that comment. So I think that's why people, that one person posted it to be like, hey, like this particular aspect is not cool. So in that sense, I kind of get it. But in general, I feel like, it was the biggest, basically the biggest movie of the year. It was a celebration of us and our culture. People are going to want to dress up It's a vampire movie. People are going to go as them for Halloween. I'm going as one of the Halloween movie. I'm literally going as one of them for Halloween this year. Actually, I got to buy a girl tomorrow. **** I just thought about that. Yeah, like, you know, so I think like we should celebrate that because when Black Panther came out, little kids, black and white ones were dressed like Killmonger and dressed like T'Challa and dressed like Shuri. And it, you know, I can't remember Angela Bass's character. But you know what I'm saying? Like we got to.

[00:28:58]Darius: Did you see they soft launch Damson?

[00:29:01]Jordan: Yeah, I saw that. Yeah.

[00:29:03]Darius: Not subtle.

[00:29:04]Jordan: Yeah, not at all. Not at all. Sorry. T'Challa Junior loading.

[00:29:07]Darius: Yeah, it was not subtle.

[00:29:10]Jordan: Yeah, we can't say we, no, you're good. We can't say we want like our **** to be big and our **** to travel and our **** to be worldwide and global and then like gatekeep at the same time. I don't know how we, how you do that. So it was not a niche movie. It was made to be seen by everyone.

[00:29:25]Darius: Sorry, go ahead.

[00:29:27]Jordan: It was not a niche movie. It was made to be seen by everyone. Now, did everyone understand it? Obviously not, because some of the discourse behind it has been really frustrating as a smart person. But.

[00:29:36]Darius: I mean, hell, most black people ignored it.

[00:29:38]Jordan: Didn't get the message either. That's a fact.

[00:29:41]Darius: Just ignored how critical it was of Christianity. Correct. Conveniently ignored how critical. I mean, to me, it was a damning indictment of Christian indoctrination.

[00:29:50]Jordan: Correct. Yes.

[00:29:51]Darius: But no one ever talks about that part. I guess my thing is, like you said, You cannot at one hand claim that black people, black culture are the world's tastemakers and they get mad when people adopt the taste.

[00:30:06]Jordan: Yeah. And this was not cultural appropriation. This was a costume for Halloween.

[00:30:10]Darius: I think he dressed up like Martin Luther King, you know, like these are fictional
