Front Half / Episode Segments

  • Act 1: The Pact
  • Act 2: Hidden Feelings & Unrealistic Lifestyles
  • Act 3: The "So..." Moment & The Fatal Flaw

Movie / Episode Basics

Jordan and Darius review the 2014 romantic comedy That Awkward Moment, examining its portrayal of modern commitment phobia, male friendship dynamics, the friction between casual hookups and emotional honesty, and the career trajectories of its star-studded ensemble cast.

Act / Segment Breakdown

  • Act 1 covers the initial singlehood pact formed after Mikey's sudden divorce, the charm of on-location New York winter filmmaking, the discrepancy between the characters' professional maturity and juvenile relationship logic, and Jordan and Darius ranking the Oscar-caliber dramatic peaks of Efron (The Iron Claw), Jordan (Sinners), and Teller (Whiplash).
  • Act 2 examines the unrealistic lifestyle-to-physique ratio portrayed in male-led rom-coms, the psychology of taking a casual relationship public, and the deceptive comfort of "spinning the block" with an ex-spouse.
  • Act 3 explores the disastrous dildo costume party, Jason's unforgivable refusal to attend Ellie’s father's funeral, the realism of post-breakup cognitive spirals, and the hosts' diverging final ratings.

Episode Highlights

Best Question: In modern dating, why is making a relationship known publicly or socially still treated as the ultimate threshold of commitment, and does hiding a partner reflect personal boundary protection or cowardly deception?

Jordan Insight: Romantic comedy tropes often rely on grand apologies and cinematic speeches to erase egregious mistakes, but genuine romantic maturity requires understanding that presence during life's darkest moments matters far more than charisma.

Darius Insight: Hollywood routinely exaggerates male conversational aggression while sanitizing romantic accountability; letting a protagonist magically win back a partner after abandoning her in grief rewards emotional cowardice instead of holding men to adult standards.

Best Debate: Defining the relationship timeline—does two months of consistent dating indicate a committed partnership, or is it still strictly exploratory probationary territory?

Major Themes

  • Commitment phobia masked as personal freedom
  • Emotional maturity versus chronological age
  • Unrealistic physical standards and lifestyle portrayals in media
  • Male camaraderie, wingmanship, and emotional vulnerability
  • The politics of public relationship acknowledgment
  • Grief, emotional abandonment, and relationship "fatal errors"
  • The psychology of breakups and rebound patterns
  • The evolution of early 2010s rom-com tropes

JordanHey everybody, welcome back to the Out the Trunk Pile with Jordan and Darius. I'm Jordan, that's Jordan B. Riding on all socials.
DariusAnd I'm Darius, that's these all up in area on all socials.
JordanAnd today we're going to be reviewing That Awkward Moment, a 2014 rom-com about friendship, dating, and the messiness of figuring out where things are going. Toss it to you.
DariusAct one, the pact. Three friends respond to romantic uncertainty by agreeing to stay single, but new encounters quickly test whether their rule is confidence, denial, or fear disguised as freedom. Let me just say all three of all of these people too grown for this ****. A pact to remain single. Really, dude? Might be George's character is a doctor. So he's at least got to be 28 because you got to go to medical school. Like that's not, these aren't college.
JordanI think his character is like, I think they're like 27, I think, something like that. Yeah.
DariusThat's too old for this ****. It's all blood brothers. Let's be single. Dude, come on, man. People are getting married. Like people, this is, you are not in college. This is, these are grown men. That was, that was so childish. But I must say the line, I wasn't confused about the breakup. I just didn't know we were dating.
JordanWe were getting felt. Yeah, man. It's like that. Remember that there's that clip of Bow Wow where this girl's like, you cheated on me. And he's like, cheat. I got to be with you to cheat. And she goes, we're together. And he just goes, what?
DariusYeah, it's, you know, that was funny, which is fine and not juvenile, but the idea that three men in their late 20s would make like a sink, like these. They moved like 20 year olds, but by death, like one's a doctor, so they have to be in their late 20s. Like you have to go to undergrad, you have to go to medical school, you have to do residency.
JordanResidency, yeah.
DariusUnless there's, unless the writers just didn't think that through, which is entirely. I think that's probably what happened.
JordanHonestly, I think the character's supposed to be 24, 25, but they, but because he's a doctor, he has to be older than 25 and they didn't think that through. I think that's what happens.
DariusAll right, fair enough. I'll stall him out then. Let me just also say, having just left a big city, wandering around for three days, I must say, I get it. It is. I get why people pay the highest rent to live like that because it is. It's a great time, man. Philadelphia must be nothing. So what you got for act one?
JordanYeah, I'll say. Yeah, that's one. The first thing I wrote down is like, man, I feel like it would be so fun. One to just be like young and single in New York. And to experience a New York winter, wearing coats in the wintertime and the Macy's Day parade and the, lights and Rockefeller Center and all that kind of stuff. So I feel like that's, I think that's one of the things I love about this movie so much is that they made it in New York and they shot it there, and not only some soundstage with the ******* green screens.
DariusIt was made, of course, from when he took over movie productions. Right.
JordanYeah. There's just a magic to to New York in the winter that is just beautiful, you know? So I always think the hallmark of a good rom com is it being in a cool city for sure.
DariusI, you know, I reiterate what you say. Yeah. One of my biggest regrets is not spending some time in my early twenties being young and single in New York City, you know? Yeah, that's the one thing I didn't get to do that I really wish I had because.
JordanYeah.
DariusI've been old and single in New York City and Philadelphia, and it's a great time. So being young and single out there seems better. So, yeah, yeah, yeah. What else you got for that one?
JordanYeah, actually, it's funny because I do love that scene where she's like, where he's like, I didn't know we were dating. And she's like, I need a man who drinks coffee out of a cup and not a cereal bowl.
DariusYou know, a pack of cups is $10?
JordanNo, for sure. Yeah. He just really didn't give a ****. Also just funny because I've been in situations where like, in my mind, we're like taking it slow and in their mind, we should already be together. And there's that like push and pull there. And it's like, to me at least, like is 2 months a long time of dating? Like, I don't think that's a long time.
DariusWell, how old were you? How old, like now?
JordanI just like.
DariusIn my big age, two months of regular dating, we are probably in a relationship. In my early to mid 20s. Right.
JordanYeah, like I remember I had a situation where it was like, it was like 6 to 8 weeks and they're like, so where's it going? And they were like really aggressive about it. And I'm like, isn't that still just getting to know each other? I don't know. That's just me. So it's just interesting the way that people, different people view those those things and timelines and stuff like that.
DariusCommunication is key, you know, make sure everybody's on the same page. So I have a question.
JordanYeah.
DariusEach lead actor went on to have three Oscar worthy performances. I don't remember if Miles, I know Oscar worthy will say Whiplash centers in Iron Claw. How would you rank them from worst to first?
JordanOh, that's tough, man, because I love all the.
DariusPerformances, not the movies.
JordanOkay. Oh, the performances.
DariusOh, okay. I mean, yes, the performance is at the movies.
JordanYeah, I'm going to go. I hate it. I love all three of these guys. Like, for real. I'm fans of all three, but I'm going to go. I'm going to go Sinners, Michael B Jordan. I'm going Iron Claw, Zac Efron. Then I'm going Miles Teller for Whiplash.
DariusAnd that's worse. The first. I'll just match you and go best to worst. Iron Claw, Sinners, Whiplash.
JordanOkay.
DariusI just thought Zac Efron was magnetic in Iron Claw.
JordanIt's ********. He didn't get nominated for an Oscar, bro. That's such ********. I still can't believe that.
DariusThat's just a bias against wrestling because the Academy thinks wrestling is for yuckles and, you know, toothless NASCAR fans. But Yeah, I would rank Iron Claw 1, Sinners 2, Whiplash 3. Although, they're all excellent. We don't do the like. Right, exactly. Sinners was great. Don't get me wrong, but somebody has to win. And I just, I went into Iron Claw. I don't even like wrestling. I don't even know any of the characters. And it was more of a family drama than anything. And he was just magnetic. And he shared the screen with a lot of big name people and he owned it. And so.
JordanYeah. You know, was that your first was that one of your first time seeing him in a dramatic role?
DariusIt was the first time seeing anything dramatic. I mean, has he done anything dramatic?
JordanYeah. Yeah. He's trying to think. There's one called The Lucky One. It was really, really good. I'm blanking. Charlie St. Cloud was really, really good. It was like a fantasy drama kind of thing about like grief and loss he was phenomenal in that yeah I think I think Isaac Efron honestly just like he's like the opposite of pretty pillars like he doesn't his acting is underrated because of how he looks I believe he's a phenomenal actor.
DariusFair enough what else you got for act one?
JordanThat scene man with Michael B Jordan and his ex-wife where she introduced him to do she's ******* as his lawyer What would you do in that situation?
DariusAssuming. Well, this is a movie. So assuming this would actually happen, you know, what can you do?
JordanI don't think for legal reasons, I should say.
DariusI mean, so look, you know, in my early to mid twenties, I might have reacted in rage and done what you want to do. But at this age, man.
JordanYeah.
DariusYeah, I just, some LG's got to hold and she's got to live with that, and maybe it will come back, maybe it won't, but I'm not going to spend a week in a jail for what? I'm in jail and she's still laid up with the dude. So I whooped him up and she gonna nurse him back to hell while I sit in the jail cell. Okay, you won. Yes, but what does that cost?
JordanYou know, that's a good point. That's fair. That's fair. I also want to say whiskey does go great with ice cream, not like drinking whiskey and eating ice cream, but there's a really good ice cream spot. I'll tell you about off wax. They have like a whiskey flavored ice cream. It's phenomenal. Yes, I did want to say that. Also, one of my favorite scenes in the movie is where he brings the girl home, they hook up, and he sees like he thinks she's a ******. And then they realize they're at work together. Like peak awkwardness. I don't know what the hell I do in that situation.
DariusIn his defense, a giant box of condoms on the bed stand is a bit distasteful.
JordanYeah, bro, for real. And the cash?
DariusLook, I buy in bulk as well, but the trick is to just leave the giant box in your closet or something and just have a couple on the bed stand. I get that it's cheap to buy in bulk, but you got to be a bit more cognizant of how things look. Correct. Yeah. What was I going to say? Well, that's what I thought. whiskey and ice cream. Yeah. I plan on this weekend. There's this European bakery that does those in Charlotte that does those viral fruit loose cakes. Okay. And I'm having a nice whiskey and trying those. I'm sure they'll be mid like that terrible cheesesteak, but I'm a sucker for a tourist or a viral food sensation. So we'll see how whiskey and ice cream goes to get our pastries go together then. So Okay. Anything else for act one?
JordanOh yeah. I just want to say they had a really cool job. I think that'd be like super fun to just like design book covers all day and like **** with like authors and kind of have those creative meetings. I don't know.
DariusYou can only earn actual money doing that in movies. There's no, nobody would be homeless in a ***** that was their job in real life. I love movie jobs. Oh, what do you do? I'm a greeting card writer.
JordanRight? Yes. Summer was 5 days summer. Yeah.
DariusA whole office. There's 50 greeting card writers here. This is the this is the whole company.
JordanOkay.
DariusAll right.
JordanYeah.
DariusThat makes no sense whatsoever.
JordanBut you know, movies do give people a ****** ** idea of what they should do for a living. I do believe that for real.
DariusNo, you know, vast majority of us are not going to have whimsical jobs. And that's OK. You know, it's it's I designed book covers. Not a real job. People don't even buy books like you. Right. Especially not physical copies. So no, not anymore. No. All right, man. What else you got for act one? Heading into act two, as feelings grow, the friends hide or minimize their romantic choices, creating tension between the image they protect and the relationships they may actually want. Old hobby horse of mine, I'm going to be a bit pedantic here, but I think it's important that people hear this. We call out discrepancies in female representation. And so we must do it to say that male representations. These dudes could not maintain those physiques, eating and drinking and living the lifestyle that they live. They're eating ******** all the time. They're eating ice cream. They're eating pizza. They're drinking beers. They're going out. I've never seen anybody hit the gym. Meanwhile, every time the shirt comes off, we got 6 pack of abs. It's not, that's not real life. And people need to, you have to keep reinforcing that.
JordanThat is true.
DariusThat is fake.
JordanAnd Miles Teller was the only one who looked like normal, like physically.
DariusNo, he was, Miles Teller looked like a dude who works out five days a week. The other two just looked like dudes who like are obsessive about it. And either way, all three of them would not be able to maintain those physiques with the lifestyles portrayed on the screen. And I think it's important to continue calling those things out because it creates true mismatch, it's not good. But yeah, I was just drinking whiskey, eating ice cream, staying out late. And it's just like, again, all the shirts come off and everyone's ripped and it's just not how it works. So yeah. What you got for act two?
JordanOkay. So yes, I have a question for you. Did you think that I forget her name, the tall girl already like was already in love with Miles Taylor's character.
DariusYes.
JordanBefore they started hooking up.
DariusYeah, for sure. Why does she look like Olivia Wiles to me for a while?
JordanBut she was in what if the Daniel Radcliffe movie we reviewed.
DariusThat's probably where I remember her from.
JordanShe was the Adam Driver's wife in that movie.
DariusGotcha. She's pretty, but.
JordanYeah, very pretty.
DariusYeah, I think that she was into him and was just kind of waiting on him to, you know, come around on it. So.
JordanYeah, yeah, me too.
DariusWhy is speaking of her, why is sharing relationship publicly so important to people?
JordanLike on social media or just telling your friends?
DariusThis movie had just been because she was like, demanding he tell all of his friends and she didn't even hang out with them. So I don't really understand why she would care. Right.
JordanI mean, I think in her situation, she didn't want she wanted to believe. I think she needed that reassurance to know that it was real. Because I think she felt like if you just ******* me in private, then I'm just like another notch on your butt, another girl on your roster. And if you tell your friends about me, then I know that we're actually dating for real.
DariusAs a very womanly understanding of male dynamics, because if you tell me you ******* somebody, I don't. That doesn't mean anything to me as far as dating them or not. Like, it doesn't make any.
JordanIt doesn't mean anything.
DariusBut I understand why a woman would think that means something to us. It may mean something to them, but it does not mean the same thing to us.
JordanSo, right. Yeah. What else you got back to? Speaking of it not being the same thing, the scene where he's with that girl, Alana, and they're like, they're like mid throws of passion and she's like, so where's this going? And he's like, I think you're amazing. And he just waits to see if she's still going to keep ******* it. That **** was crazy.
DariusYou know? Not unrealistic. We'll put it that way.
JordanNo, it's not. Yeah, no. Yeah. We'll have to talk at the bar about that.
DariusNot unrealistic. So, yeah. I mean, this is a nice little fun movie. There were some things that, you know, I just felt they were a little too old for, but to get all three of these dudes in the same cast is a feat in and of itself.
JordanCorrect.
DariusSo I enjoyed it. Well, unless you got Frankie.
JordanMe too. I love this movie. Okay, so there's Michael B. Jordan's character starts spinning the block with his ex-wife. They're kind of sneaking around and doing all the fun **** they never really did when they were married. I thought it was a really like realistic portrayal of spinning the block because when you're doing that with an ex, you kind of, and to spend some time, you kind of, it does feel new like you're dating a new person. So you do still have that honeymoon kind of feeling. uh up until you remember why y'all broke the **** ** in the first place um but I thought they did a great job of showing like oh yeah it's gonna feel new now things may be different even though they're not gonna be different.
DariusYeah they always remind you in both ways why you broke up with the first place but it's fun for you know a good time uh yeah absolutely the words of Drake good time not a long time so yeah you want to head into act three or you got something else for act two um but.
JordanOkay, so do you have the costume party in Act 2 or Act 3?
DariusIt does. Whatever you want to do.
JordanOkay, so for that, I did like the scene where they're all at the bar together and no one knows about the two friends hooking up.
DariusYeah.
JordanAnd she plays women for him and he fumbles on purpose. I thought that was really dope because he could have been an ******* and still done the thing and made her, you know, treated her like nothing or whatever, you know what I'm saying? And he chose not to do that and be a stand-up guy. I thought that was pretty dope.
DariusEarly tell that he actually liked her or liked her. So yeah. we're not always the most vocal, but our behavior often reflects our, what we actually want. So correct. Act 3, the sole moment the characters face, whether staying undefined is protecting them or holding them back, pushing friendship and romance toward honest decisions without easy answers. Yeah, I definitely laugh out loud funny at the costume party. Yeah. You think maybe you'd ask a clarifying question before?
JordanWhat's the theme?
DariusAlso, even if it's a Halloween party, that might be a little much.
JordanThat is, that was excessive for sure.
DariusYou know, it's a little much for a mixed.
JordanIt was clever, but that was nuts.
DariusIt's a little much for, especially since you don't know anyone there.
JordanYou don't know her friends yet. You just met her, you don't know any of her friends.
DariusYou show up and everyone's like Power Rangers and it's like, oh, you know.
JordanEven if it wasn't, even if it was a costume party, you still look crazy as hell.
DariusYeah, like it's like, well, there's like, it's like your girl's Princess Peach or something. Like something like, oh, I'm Yoshi. It's like, oh, I didn't know you said it was a costume party. Yeah, but like, why couldn't you?
JordanYou couldn't go Superman.
DariusYeah, like was there, were they out of Batman? Why are we creative? But a bit much, even if you had the theme right.
JordanCorrect, absolutely. Yeah, that **** was crazy.
DariusInsane. And then her palm was there.
JordanYeah, when it fell into her drink and he's like, it's a cocktail.
DariusYeah, oh my God. The most unrealistic thing in this movie, in a movie full of unrealistic things was him being able to recover from that. No, **** ***. Yeah, man. Don't try that at home unless you look like Zac Efron.
JordanLike Zac Efron. That's the main message in this movie. It's like, don't do none of this **** he does in this movie unless you look like him. Pretty much.
DariusPretty much, man. I was physically uncomfortable when he walked to that party. Because again, even if he had the theme right, that was a lot.
JordanThat was still crazy. And also like the door opened and you saw everybody right away. I had to turn around and went back home. home and change this into some other ****.
DariusI just would never.
JordanShow my face again I just.
DariusWouldn't wear that costume I would have more discretion.
JordanYeah well that that too that too yeah yeah for sure.
DariusYou know if generally speaking going to the sex shop for your Halloween costume not a good idea in a party with a bunch of people you've never met before maybe rethink that one back to your great idea though yeah.
JordanYeah it was really clever for sure And I wonder, I think a funny scene would have been showing him, them showing him his friends, his outfit. Because at some point, one of them you had to believe would have been like, no, don't do that. That's stupid.
DariusYou would think. That was really spectacularly stupid. What else you got for actually? What do you have for actually?
JordanFor actually, yeah. Okay. Yeah. So there's there. at the club and they get the call about Ellie's dad passing away and they're kind of telling him like, yo, well, one friend is telling him, go to the funeral. Don't be an *******. The other one's saying that that makes it look more serious than what it is. Which which friend would you have been in that situation?
DariusYou gotta go to the funeral, man. You laid up with this woman every day.
JordanEvery day. Yeah.
DariusYou got it. No, man, you can't just live with this woman day in and day out, got keys to the crib, talking all day, and then not be there when her dad dies. He **** *** wrong for that.
JordanYeah, man, you were getting on romantic ******* park dates and ****.
DariusNo, he just, there's no, that's **** *** wrong. In fact, one of my notes here is that like, it actually ****** me off that he got the girl in the end, because that's just not, that's a fatal error. That's a fatal, yeah, that's just like, it's the most cliche dual. You showed up to a poem reading. Yeah. You just, No, the right ending to the movie was him being, sometimes you do just fumble the girl, it doesn't mean you live the rest of your life crying and staring out the window. Right. He fumbled the girl and the right ending would have been him actually fumbling the girl. Correct.
JordanYeah, that's true. And also for me, it was just the nonchalance about it afterwards where he just shows up to her crib and just like jokes around as if it was normal. Like you need to show up with like 1000 ******* roses and a horse and carriage and a billboard with her name on it and a ******* boom bop like boom box like the ******* 80s movie and **** to try to make up for what you did And even that's not enough.
DariusYou just shouldn't show up. You should just hold that Well that also you just you fumbled and you need to move on with your life. You need to leave that girl alone It doesn't matter what you want. You ****** ** in the worst way.
JordanSo in like literally the worst way it Only would have been worse. It was if he had actually killed her father himself.
DariusYeah you just met the dude clearly he died suddenly because he was in good health when you met him right and so yeah it you know throw on a black shirt like this and some slacks and sit in a boring funeral for a few hours and hold your girl's hand and like that's all you had to do she wasn't asking you yeah man you know make some grand gesture just show up.
JordanCorrect yeah and even the fact that like I wasn't invited it's like bro come on man she told you about it because she needed you there also just like knowing.
DariusYou don't get formally invited to a funeral. You just, would you like me to go to the funeral with you? Yes, there you go. So.
JordanYeah, that was that was nuts. And I like that she was like upfront about it too. And she wasn't like a victim about the situation. She just straight up was like, you weren't there for me. And that's all that relationship really is. I mean, it's more than that, obviously, but at its base level, that's what it is. And I like that she held him accountable without being A victim in the situation.
Darius100%. So we get to the, I don't know what kind of party, maybe it was Thanksgiving or whatever. And my son was ******* his girl in the bathroom. And they walk in on it because it just becomes a romcom and dude was like, don't hug me with no pants on. And I agree.
JordanDon't hug me with no pants on.
DariusDon't hug me with no pants on. Don't even talk.
JordanYou're right. Respect.
DariusI'm reminded of the comic view bit where he was like, A naked man could break into my house and take my TV and he just, that's just his TV. He put on some pants so I could stop you. But like, do not hug me with no pants on. That was funny. Those 3 had great chemistry in this movie.
JordanThey really did. And I think Michael B. and Mike Teller are still close to this day, actually, which is pretty dope. Yeah, man, that scene was hilarious though, where he's like, yo, you're right, respect, respect.
DariusYeah, it was funny. It was a good movie. I enjoyed that. was that. I enjoyed that scene. I enjoyed Michael B. Jordan finding out that, you know, when she was like, I don't love you anymore. That was good to hear.
JordanYeah.
DariusThen he bounced back and hit the girl back up and, you know, everybody didn't get a happy ending. So that was good. It's good that the movie didn't end with every cliche. So correct.
JordanI will say I did also one of my favorite scenes in the movie is where Zach Efron's in the bar by himself after he fumbled the girl and he's like talking to that old dude and he's just like going on about like it's a perfect like monologue in terms of what your mind goes through when you're going through a breakup where he's like I'm just thinking about whatever what she's doing and who's in her house and who she's with and every other guy but me because like when you have a breakup and first hits and you're at your like most like vulnerable state you do really feel like every other guy in the world has a chance with her but you when that's actually not the case it's you but like it's just not you know just bad timing or whatever the **** but I thought that was a great, great statement he made there because it really does feel like that in the moment where you're like, down, the homeless dude on the street has a better chance to me when she wants to move you too. It's just not working right now. You know.
DariusThat is true. And then you have all these grand plans before the breakup about how. your single life is going to be. It's never like you imagined it. You ain't going to have no hoes for a long time. You got to build that. You got to build up those muscles again. And it's always going to be easier for her to bounce back as far as dating because she's a woman. And you know, it takes once that hits you, it's rough. So what else you got for act 3?
JordanOh yeah, I like when rom-coms reference other rom-coms where Teller and Efron are talking to each other in the restaurant. And they're like, tell me what you love about her, man. And he's like saying all things he loves about her. And he's like, dude, you got to do a romantic gesture. Like you had me at hello and ****. Like, you know, I love that scene. I like when they show, I like that they didn't have them be like tough guys about like, oh yeah, like, oh, that's my ***** like, whatever, you know, and were honest and was like, okay, what do you love about this girl? Why do you want to be with her so badly? You know.
DariusYeah, I mean, movies often. over index on just how rough and tumble male conversation is. Like when we don't just sit around calling women ******* and talking about our sexual exploits. Like, no, that's not, no, we really don't. I believe it or not.
JordanRight, exactly. Yeah, no.
DariusYou know, do we get mad at women? Sure, but we just like, there's not this like visceral anger you see in some of these movies.
JordanRight, yeah.
DariusAll right, man, what else you got for Act 3?
JordanDo you think any of those couples ended up together?
DariusNo, I think. Well, no, Miles Teller and his girl. Yes. Zac Efron made a fatal flaw, and I don't think that's that's that's short lived. And yeah, Michael B. Jordan is just bouncing back ******* whatever girls last, you know, responded to his phone calls. So no, right. You always circle back after a breakup to like.
JordanThe ones who hit you up when you were in a relationship.
DariusYeah, you just, you need some layups. You need, you need to get super long. So you don't, you don't start with the high degree of difficulty. You start with, you know, you.
JordanStart with your warm sales, then you make cold calls.
DariusCorrect. That's a good way to put it. That's a great way to land the plane.
JordanWhat do you rate it? I love this movie. It's one of my favorite rom-coms of all time. Three actors that I'm a big fan of. I'm going to give it 4 1/2 stars.
DariusWow, that is a ringing endorsement. I enjoyed this movie very much. I will put it in my rom-com rotation and I'm going to give it a 3.5 star.
JordanNice.
DariusVery smooth, 90 minute, enjoyable watch. Three great actors having fun. I think it's important for actors to take a break from the super duper Oscar stuff and just have a little fun. And this was fresh off of Whiplash. Michael B. Jordan had right before Creed. Right before Creed. I mean, he had done the Chronicle. The Dude movie about the time Dude got shot.
JordanOh, Fruitvale.
DariusYeah. And you know, The Wire and just like, you know, hey, let's just hang out for a couple for a couple weeks, film a rom com, you know. hang out in New York and it was a good time. It's light, light, nice little light, hungover Saturday afternoon in the summer with football's off movie to watch.
JordanYeah, for sure. All right. And it's a good cuffing season movie to all those who celebrate.
DariusIt is not a romantic movie at all.
JordanOh, you know what? You're right.
