[00:00:00]JordanWelcome back to Out the Trunk with Jordan and Darius, the podcast where two friends went in the bar, started talking and never stopped. This is our movie review segment. My name is Jordan. That's Jordan to be riding on all socials.
[00:00:10]DariusAnd I'm Darius. That's Steve's all up in the area on all socials.
[00:00:13]JordanAnd today we're gonna be reviewing Knives Out. So I'm gonna toss it to you for Act 1.
[00:00:17]DariusAct 1 we got. as I lose my notes. Act one, the family gathering. Following the patriarch's suspicious death, family members assemble for police questioning. An eccentric Southern detective quietly observes their conflicting stories, quickly realizing everyone has a hidden motive. Nothing unravels a family like a good old estate fight. I think, you know, Chadwick's estate just got settled. I think he passed six years ago. Take off success. The state is at war right now.
[00:00:51]JordanOh, damn, I didn't know that.
[00:00:53]DariusYou know, write your wills, people. You never know when your time is up. And if you're going to be with that woman and she got your kids, marry her and write a will. So people ain't fighting over your stuff when you're gone.
[00:01:08]JordanAnd so your kids get your stuff.
[00:01:10]DariusYeah, just, you know, if you care about what goes where, the only way to ensure that goes where is if you write it down. Because if you don't write it down, the government decides what happens with it. And it's a long, protracted fight. So nothing unravels a family like a good old estate fight. So what you got back on, man?
[00:01:32]JordanI thought it was crazy how they, everybody had their own little like lie to tell Marta where like, because she was obviously very close with the old guy. I can't remember his first name. I'm blanking. And they all were like, I wanted you to be at the funeral. You had my vote. And it's like the fact that they even voted on whether or not the person who cared for him till the very end, whether or not they could attend the funeral was crazy, but a great testament to the elitism that, you know, is themed throughout the movie. I thought that was a great way of showing their character and also showing without telling.
[00:02:05]DariusThat's also just like they were their aloofness. Like you could tell they really weren't like involved with their elderly father's care. Correct. if they just thought, they probably thought she was just like, his housekeeper, Right?
[00:02:21]JordanBecause there's that one scene where the one son, he's like, is talking and he just hands her a plate to like, to go wash the dishes as if she's a maid.
[00:02:31]DariusYeah. And you know, she turned out being the closest person to him, as we will find out later. So what happens is she believe she's accidentally overdosed him because she grabbed the wrong what's his face with morphine instead of his other thing. And he cares for her so much that he's accepted his fate and decides to plan a way for her to get away from it and it looked like a suicide. He actually commits suicide believing that he was going to die anyway. I set all that up so this makes sense. During the course of her alibi, she has to climb up a Building like to the third floor of a building with just her hands. No, that is a freaky feat of athleticism. Yeah, I just want people to know that is very, very, very difficult. Yes. And so she we are dealing with an Olympian and so good for her.
[00:03:24]JordanYeah, that's why. Because that's equivalent to like 30 pull ups.
[00:03:28]DariusWait, I mean, under high stress with no workout gear in the middle of the night.
[00:03:34]JordanIt's cold as hell. You're in Massachusetts.
[00:03:37]DariusAnd it's probably wet. Yeah. And so first question, is this supposed to be a new spin on the Clue?
[00:03:48]JordanYeah, so it's basically a modern version of Clue in the old Agatha Christie murder novels with, they've remade a lot of those too, actually. I can't remember the name of the detective I'm blanking right now, but he was a French detective as well. He was a French detective, very eccentric. It's pretty similar to that. So yeah, it's supposed to be basically a modern take on that.
[00:04:10]DariusOkay. Is Daniel Craig supposed to be British in this movie or they just say don't worry about it?
[00:04:17]JordanYeah, they just said don't worry about it. He's supposed to be like a southern dude.
[00:04:21]DariusYou know, I wish more people would do that because no accent is bad than like, I would rather you not try a bad accent and just be yourself. I will suspend belief, but don't do a bad accent. People, it can work and sometimes they're important, but actually it can be distracting if the accent's bad. So I would rather suspend belief on an accident and let you just focus on the acting than to have a bad accent. So I applaud them for doing that because he was British as hell in this movie. He was more British in this than Bond.
[00:04:54]JordanOh no, he's Southern in this movie. He's doing like the, almost like I call it like the Golden Girl, Southern Draw. Well, he did a good job of it.
[00:05:03]DariusBecause he sounds like he's, eating beans and toast for breakfast.
[00:05:09]JordanBut they're very similar. So I'm not mad at it.
[00:05:12]DariusWhat you got for act one? What else you got?
[00:05:14]JordanSo one of my favorite scenes is the cutaway scenes where he's interviewing the family members. I think he's pretty much just interviewing the kids, the older guys' kids and their spouses. And she's like, he's like, you know, you all have done really well for yourself. You're self-made. He's talking to Jamie Lee Curtis and then she's like, even your brother. And she's like, well, I mean, Desi though. And she's like, I mean, my dad just kind of gives him a book twice a year and lets him publish it. Like, you know, it's not serious. And then he's like, oh, so he just, you know, whatever. And then she's like, you think you can get me, you're gonna get me to **** talk to my brother to police? I would never do that. I'm not an idiot. And then they cut to her husband being like, he don't run ****.
[00:05:55]DariusAny sort of like wealthy patriarch, if they got, how many kids you have 4.
[00:06:00]JordanThree.
[00:06:01]DariusYeah.
[00:06:01]JordanI think, three. Yeah. 41 died and then he had the wife.
[00:06:05]DariusAt least one of them is going to be a Hunter Biden, a fail son. And so like you just, at least one of them is going to be a **** **. And so, you know, you just got to hope you keep it to like there's with second generation wealthy kids, at least one's a **** **. One's got to be the Hunter Biden. And so, it stayed true to the patterns. And so you just got to hope that if the dad owned the football team, that's like you end up with a lot of like bad sports owners because the rich guy buys a football team, but he got rich doing something else. And like the football team is the only thing you can run and not **** **. And you can **** ** on the field, but you won't lose money. And so they always give that to the fail son. And so you end up with like, it's like, run the Knicks, James Dolan. Like, the Knicks will always make, like, I'm not going to get you anywhere near where you can **** ** the money. And so, and so like, Jim Ursa, hey, take the calls. The Colts could go oh and 17 and we'll still make money. So I don't actually care.
[00:07:09]JordanRest in peace, Jim Mercy.
[00:07:11]DariusYeah, RIP. But you know, so always like you have to be careful with that in sports. And so you could point out the fail son. Yeah, that's true. So what else you got for act one?
[00:07:21]JordanThat's true. What did I have here?
[00:07:26]DariusOh, yeah.
[00:07:26]JordanSo the widower, the blonde with the long hair and the daughter, that is some crazy ****. Just like just Stealing half $1,000,000 from your father-in-law over the span of four years is crazy. I don't know how she thought she would get away with it for that long.
[00:07:46]DariusAnd you would not.
[00:07:46]JordanI mean, you're just asking for it at that point.
[00:07:48]DariusYou would not believe how many people take advantage of their elderly family members trust. It's like financially. It's sad, but like, you know, just it. I can only say but so much, but it happens A lot.
[00:08:09]JordanGot you.
[00:08:10]DariusSo not that was also very realistic. And a lot of times they don't even think what they're doing is wrong. they just think that, that's felt out. So this is my payment, my back pain, whatever. And it's just like, no, that's fraud.
[00:08:29]JordanYeah, no, yeah. A big fraud too, because what are you spending $100,000 on? that's true. That's true. I will say that I kind of felt bad for her kid though. The fact that he was cutting her off because she didn't have anything to do with it as far as the story was told.
[00:08:47]DariusYeah.
[00:08:48]JordanSo I didn't kind of feel bad for the grandkid.
[00:08:51]DariusYeah, you do feel, yeah, the grandkids for sure. The adults, not really, but.
[00:08:56]JordanYeah.
[00:08:58]DariusThat's all I have for actual woman. What you got? What else you got?
[00:09:03]JordanThat's all I got for. the affairs uncovered too. So I wanted to ask you, do you, because later on in the movie, Chris Evans' character talks about how his father was essentially masculinated by the mother because of the prenup and not having his own access to the bread, I guess, or whatever the case may be. Do you think that resentment caused him to cheat, or do you just think he was like an *******?
[00:09:21]DariusI think people cheat because they want to *** **** not really, tickets. I think people do ad hoc explanations, but cheating is often just Opportunity meets, I don't know, what's the word? Presentation. Yeah. cheating is often a crime of opportunity, if you will. So I don't think there's a way to keep someone from cheating on you. Now, obviously there are extraordinary circumstances, you know, but by and large, if someone's going to cheat on you, there's very little you can do about that to prevent it. Heading into act 2, unraveling the web. The detective enlists the writers devoted nurse to help navigate the family's deceit. Meanwhile, the reading of the will drops a massive bombshell that turns the entire household upside down. The bombshell being that he left everything for his caretaker, devoted nurse, whose name is escaping me at this point. You know, I get why. I think if you're going to do that, it's your state. You could do it.
[00:10:25]JordanI get why they were ******.
[00:10:26]DariusI'm not going to lie. Heads up, maybe, you know, like.
[00:10:29]JordanYeah, The heads, yeah, heads up would have been.
[00:10:32]DariusAlso, she's happy age. There's a there's a problematic that happens. That **** looks crazy. Paw Paw 70 years old, granny been gone. This young thing shows up and all of a sudden he's rewriting the will. And it's a question of like, Is he like cognitively capable of doing this? Is he, clearly, so obviously we know they weren't sleeping together or anything like that. It was one of the family members brought that up, but it's like that happens too, where it's like on his deathbed, this woman half his age shows up. Now all of a sudden the will has changed. Yeah, I have. Yeah, I'd be ****** too. I get it. More than ****** that can go to court. You know, it just depends. Again, estates get nasty. But I don't like overly transactional people and this family is full of them. None of them seem to care that the dad is dead. Yeah, you're right.
[00:11:24]JordanI feel like only one person cried over his two people cried over him in the movie, Jamie Lee Curtis and Anna de Armas. I feel like those only character be actors slash characters who cried over him dying, which is kind of crazy.
[00:11:35]DariusYeah, this is not, you know, I don't know how he ended up with like 4 sociopaths for children, 3 sociopaths for children, but here we are. What you got, Frank, too.
[00:11:47]JordanHe definitely created a lot of monsters. I will say that Chris Evans, this is the first one he took after he finished with Avengers Endgame, or finished with Marvel, basically. And he was ******* phenomenal in this movie. How he acted in that scene was so perfect because he was like, you're not supposed to like him, but you do kind of like him because he was just so, just didn't give a **** you know, which is always endearing to people. And just the fact that he let them sit there and try to, finger wag him. And the second that they found out they were getting that money, they lost their **** too. I thought that scene was brilliantly written and perfectly acted.
[00:12:24]DariusWell, let me ask you this. Better Marvel lead gets to have, gets to do an actual good movie, movie. We've reviewed them both now. The judge or Knives Out, the judge being Robert Downey Jr., Knives Out being Chris Evans.
[00:12:42]JordanEvans. Which movie is better or which performance is better?
[00:12:45]DariusYes, both.
[00:12:47]JordanOkay, I think Knives Out is a better movie. I would say RDJ's performance, I'd say his performance was better just because he was in the movie more often. Like Chris Evans is only basically in the second-half of the movie. But in terms of just departures, in terms of what we know them for and what it did for showing their range, I'd say I think Chris Evans' role was more challenging.
[00:13:13]DariusI agree with that. I think The Judge is a better movie. I think Robert Downey Jr. is a more talented actor. But if I'm just in a silo, what Chris Evans I didn't expect this of him. I expected that around Downey Jr. So maybe this is grading on a curve, but I would agree with Chris Evans to answer that question. So that was my question, man. What questions you got for me?
[00:13:43]JordanOkay. so there's a scene in this act where she's talking with Harlan and she's, I think they were outside on the deck playing go or playing a game or something like that. And they're talking about the affair or something like that. And he's like, you know, I think I do need to let Walt run his own publishing company like you suggested. And I do think I need to cut Ransom off like you suggested and all that. He kept saying that she made all these suggestions about what he should do with his heirs, basically. And I know that Marta is the protagonist in the movie and these people are awful. But I do kind of feel like on some level she was manipulative with him, like on the sneak. Because you're just like kind of suddenly planting all these spiders in his ears, so to speak, about what he should do. And you're just like eliminating family members one by one. Until it's just you.
[00:14:30]DariusYeah, but so I mean, obviously that's that can be that can go left. But she could also just be the fresh set of eyes, telling him his blind spots with these people. Because I mean, if she's in the day, was she telling him anything wrong? Was any of it inaccurate?
[00:14:47]JordanNo, she was right. Yeah, she was right.
[00:14:48]DariusSo, you know, like if someone else explaining your behavior, you're like truthfully explaining your behavior, is embarrassing to you. Maybe don't do the behavior. Like don't blame them for talking about it. Like maybe you could, you know, one should behave in a way that if they talked about you, it wouldn't be embarrassing. And so obviously you can't rewrite, you know, go back and pass and change it. But certainly, certainly there's an element of she's trying to isolate him. But unless she's telling something false, it's hard to get too upset with her about it, you know?
[00:15:25]JordanYeah, that's failure. That's valid. What was I going to say? Okay, so there's this movie does a great job of like showing kind of the behind the scenes of like classism and like I'd say performative progressivism, if you will, where it's kind of like the one dad, the one character, one dad character where he's like, oh, your kid's a Nazi, right? You know, and so he's taking this kind of progressive stance and then goes on to say like, I know they're in cages and it's sad, but the parents didn't put him in that position, And then he's like, he brings Marta to the room and he's like, hey, look, you're one of the good ones. You came over here the right way. And if you notice, every time they mention where she's from, it's a different country.
[00:16:14]DariusYeah.
[00:16:14]JordanBecause none of them actually know where she's from.
[00:16:17]DariusWell, she's just, she's an NPC to them, right? She's not a human being. And so, Yeah, it's a lot of these family members give, what is it? I would have voted Obama a third time if I could.
[00:16:30]JordanThird term. Yeah. Get out, Bob. Yeah.
[00:16:32]DariusYeah. It's I have a lot to say about that, that, you know, I don't want to derail the pod, but I have a particular disdain for that sort of performative progressivism. Yeah. It's like sloganeering and silly marches, but when it's table stakes, like, it's different. Correct.
[00:16:54]JordanSo yeah, it's like the people you knew in 2020 who like posted like pro-Trump **** and then they posted the black little Instagram square for Black Lives Matter that one day.
[00:17:09]DariusUshers has always been ushers wouldn't be gushers without the black community. Popeye's stands with the black community. It just don't even get me started. Everything about 2020 was quite silly. So what else we got cracked before we derail this whole thing?
[00:17:26]JordanRight. What else is it? Oh yeah, so the diner scene is also one of my favorite scenes in the movie where he's like, Chris Evans is like playing it so perfect where he's like, man, I had this clarity and I realized like I needed to take care of myself for once and grow up. you deserve that money. **** my family. And then he gives her the beans and he's like, all right, well, now I know you can't lie. So what the **** happened?
[00:17:56]DariusI didn't catch that gimmick until I watched an hour of it yesterday that football came on and I watched an hour of it before we recorded. And I guess the break got me fresh eyes and I was like, oh, every time she lies, she vomits. Yeah. So I integrated the first the bean scene was later. That is diabolical feeding someone. Yeah, bro. And then making them to make them throw up. You know, beans are tough. I have not yet, but. It's tough.
[00:18:29]JordanThat's not a pleasant thing to throw up.
[00:18:30]DariusNo, no. And sausage. I'm into it. Listen, man, beans and sausage is legit. That's basically red beans and rice. Just, you know, Cajun. But, you know.
[00:18:42]JordanYeah, true. True.
[00:18:43]DariusWhat else you got for act two?
[00:18:49]JordanI mean, that scene where Harlan, where Harlan realizes that he has to kill himself was devastating. Like, because, like, imagine, like, you just feel so stressed. Like when she When she realizes that the vials are switched, she's like, oh my God. And then when she can't find the thing, it's like, you know what, you look for something you really, really need and you know what's in there, but it's not in there. She acted that perfectly. Ann Armas is a phenomenal actress. And I feel like because she's so beautiful, you kind of don't realize it all the time. And she acted her *** off in this movie.
[00:19:19]DariusIs that real though? It can't be that easy to administer a deadly dose of morphine. There has to be more failsafes than that, right?
[00:19:26]JordanI would hope so. I'm going to guess.
[00:19:28]DariusCan't be like grabbing the wrong pen, like, oh, *** **** I hope not. I really hope there's more like fail safes and checks and balances because people are human and it can't just be as simple as like, this one looks good.
[00:19:44]JordanYeah. Hopefully they have like different color caps or something. I don't know.
[00:19:48]DariusI am certain that there are more controls in place in like formal medical settings and that's a little Hollywood magic.
[00:19:54]JordanYeah, I would hope so. I feel like a lot more people would die from that.
[00:19:58]DariusYeah. Like, again, I don't know this, but it just has to be. Like, the way, if you've had a job before, you know that there's more barriers to prevent human error than this. Right, Yeah.
[00:20:12]JordanBecause even like.
[00:20:13]DariusWith way lower stakes, you know, like.
[00:20:15]JordanCorrect. Like, I do currently slash almost formerly, I do like referral processing and you can't even submit a referral if certain information is like not on the form. You know what I mean? Correct.
[00:20:27]DariusSo the idea that just like you could just have morphine in your left pocket and this is my right pocket and let's just hope I pulled the left.
[00:20:34]Jordan**** I switched the pants.
[00:20:36]DariusYeah, and it was just like, now he's dead. Like that just doesn't feel accurate. But you know. No, So yeah, I'm with it. I'm with it. And it doesn't. It doesn't strange strain credulity that a very rich man would have a nurse who has less than strict access to high ed drugs. And so that's how we lost **** Prince and Mike Jack.
[00:20:59]JordanWe lost both of them today.
[00:21:03]DariusYeah, it's you know, it's kind of obviously like the opiate crisis has been covered ad nauseam, but like it almost feels like under discussed that we lost like both Prince and Mike Jackson to drug addiction. We just kind of treat it like they accidental deaths and not the same way.
[00:21:21]JordanWe do treat it like, we do.
[00:21:23]DariusWe just treat it like it's just something that happened instead of just like, man, they were junkies and they died getting high. And so, we don't treat it like overdose, like the guy from the wires, like Michael K. Williams or DMX?
[00:21:40]JordanMichael K. Williams.
[00:21:41]DariusWe treat those like overdoses in a way we don't treat Prince and Mike Jack because we want to venerate them a little differently. Right.
[00:21:48]JordanYeah, I think that's one of those things because they're just so great. No one's except the fact that, they died how they died, unfortunately. And also like, I mean, I never like most pop stars, you kind of hear about them having drug problems. We never really heard about that with them. So it was pretty shocking to find out. Yeah, well, that's how they left us, you know.
[00:22:09]DariusMike, it was it was rumors because the surgeries and different things like that and the Apparently he had overdosed like the week before on a plane and got a good Narcan overdose, a good Narcan shot and got back right. But he had hip surgery because they'd been dancing on the heels on stage for 30 years and they gave him drugs to help with the pain and the pain goes away and the drugs stay.
[00:22:41]JordanYeah, that **** is highly addictive.
[00:22:44]DariusSo you got anything else for Act 2? We're white off around a little bit.
[00:22:50]JordanYeah. I did like the fact that they, because he is the patriarch of the family, but I liked the way they showed that he at the end, he was just very much an old man filled with regret. And him cutting him out of the will was just him trying to basically, I guess, cleanse himself essentially of the disservice that he felt he'd done to his children by crippling them, so to speak. Cause I feel like only one of them was really, could really stand on her own. I mean, granted, she got a loan from her dad, but she built something on her own, which is what he wanted for his kids. Although that concept to me is always kind of a bit annoying where the whole thing is like, I get you want your kids to build their own **** but if you build a company and you build a life for yourself, you want your children to have a better one. Yeah.
[00:23:32]DariusWell, I mean.
[00:23:33]JordanYou had, so I never understood the whole get it out the mud thing.
[00:23:37]DariusGet it out the mud, no. But a man should stand on his own too. And, you know, if you like, if you run an empire, you know, like, you just can't be on my payroll doing nothing. Like, like, just say, like, you have to, okay, well, what part of the company do you like? Okay, well, we'll get you an internship there. And obviously we gonna make sure you write, you know, but you just can't be, you know, 40 years old with an allowance from your dad. You have to have some sort of self. You have to be able to sustain yourself in some way. I'm not going to make you start from scratch like me. And if you want to join the family business, of course, we're going to nepotism this thing. But what part, okay, I own a real estate portfolio. Do you like to handle the repairs? Do you like to do this? Do you want to deal with the banks? What do you like? We'll get you in that area and we'll get you right. But I understand not wanting, you know, grown adult children on an allowance. And so I There's a way to do it. It's definitely difficult. Like, the, like I said, the NFL owners like give your kid the football team. That's something they can do. You know, it's just like it's a task and right?
[00:24:52]JordanYou can't **** that up.
[00:24:53]DariusYou can **** it up on the field, but you know. I see both sides of it. I do. Act 3, the donut hole. As the killer frantically scrambles to cover their tracks, the detective pieces together the final clues. A clever trap brings the truth to light, restoring order to the estate. I would hereby like to establish a movie board that has to review and approve all applications for movies that want to be longer than 2 hours. I will be on that board and I would you it would make Harvard jealous how low my acceptance rate would be. It starts to drag. I was like, man, there's no reason for this to be longer than 2 hours. Movie directors, if you're listening, you're not. But one day you will be. Please. under two hours, unless you have a really, really good reason. And the reason you're thinking probably isn't good enough. Like, it's just, movies should not be longer than two hours unless they have like some, this is a standard murder mystery. Hour 45, we good. We don't really like the characters are fine. It's a good movie.
[00:26:08]JordanBut it's a fun movie.
[00:26:09]DariusIt's a good fun regular movie. And those should not be as long as it's as long as Goodfellas. Like why isn't this long?
[00:26:19]JordanYeah. Okay. So do you think, okay, so you think that the first act was too long or the third act was too long?
[00:26:24]DariusThe third act was too long. By then it's so obvious Chris Evans is the actual killer. Because at a certain point, like the way he comes in late, the way his star is so much bigger than the rest of them, like the twist is from a mile away. And you know she's not the killer. And it's just like, All right, let's just, okay, land the plane. We like, we know what's going on here. And they just keep adding scenes and adding scenes. And I just, this did not need to be longer than two hours. It was a good movie though.
[00:26:52]JordanI enjoyed it. Yeah, it is. I really like this movie. That's true that the twitch you do kind of see coming. I like, I think. What I love about this movie is figuring out how he just how he did it. Because I really watch it. I was like, how the **** did he do this? Like, I couldn't figure it out, you know, because he's hardly ever in the movie. You hardly see him, you know, yes, he has a motive, but everybody has a motive, pretty much aside from like the niece, the grandkids, basically. And because he did such a good, Chris Evans did such a good job of seeing as though he's turning over a new leaf, you do want to believe that he did, you know. But yeah, I thought I like that. I like the reveal scene though, because it's a tough scene to pull off because it's like a 10 minute scene with no shots. It's just straight dialogue. I was there. And Daniel Craig just ripped that ****. Like it's like 10 pages of dialogue, you know, to memorize, you know?
[00:27:48]DariusIt was good. It just, you know, just.
[00:27:51]JordanThey did circle the block a little bit. Yeah.
[00:27:53]DariusIt's hard to spin his wheels a little bit. I enjoyed it though. It's I wish more movies were made like this. Hollywood doesn't really do whodunits anymore. Yeah. And sometimes I just want to watch 2 detectives solve a mystery. Like we reviewed 7th and like, you know, just like let's solve a mystery. And you don't really get that anymore. You get, we're getting back into like, you know, low stakes drama movies, but I've been, you could just, you know, get two good actors, they're cops and they have to solve a murder. And it's weird.
[00:28:25]JordanYeah, me too.
[00:28:26]DariusIt used to be good.
[00:28:27]JordanYeah, I don't know what happened. It feels like, I don't know if it's because people, it feels like murder mystery books are not as popular as it used to be maybe. I don't know. I mean, if audience, if you want to suggest some, like feel free. We'd love to hear, you know, get some recommendations. But like, I mean, for me growing up, like I love like Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys and all that, well, Wishbone and all that kind of, all those book series and stuff. So like growing up, you watched a lot of whodunits and you know, the classics of course, Clue and all that. And it feels like one day they just went away. I don't know. I don't know what happened.
[00:28:55]DariusJust like, you know. Whodunits, buddy cop movies. Like you said, this movie's fun. It's good.
[00:29:02]JordanYeah.
[00:29:03]DariusAnd we need more of that. But like, I just, I can't even remember the last one. **** Knives Out 2. What was the last of?
[00:29:13]JordanKnives Out 3.
[00:29:14]DariusThere's a third? There's a third.
[00:29:19]JordanYeah, it's the third one. It's really good.
[00:29:21]DariusIt's the first time I've seen any of them.
[00:29:23]JordanIt's got like a really dark tone. Okay, the third one is on it's on Netflix. The second and third one are both on Netflix.
[00:29:30]DariusAll right, check them out, man. What else you got, Factory?
[00:29:37]JordanOh yeah, so I want to ask you, do you believe there is such a thing as a perfect crime? This one comes pretty close. So I want to see what you thought about that. If there's if there's ever.
[00:29:47]DariusWe still ain't figured out who killed Biggie. True.
[00:29:53]JordanWe think we know who he is.
[00:29:55]DariusYeah. I mean, what is it? Something like 40% of murders go unsolved.
[00:30:02]JordanYeah.
[00:30:02]DariusYou know, so to answer your it's hard to say. It's like perfect because, you know, right. More people get away with it than you'd like to believe, even because like, yeah, even if the cops know who did it, they have to prove who did it. And like, it's right, you know, if it's not, you know, a domestic issue where it's obvious the husband did it or, you know, you know, that's why serial killers used to be so prevalent. It's because it's actually hard to solve a crime when someone just randomly kills somebody. Right. And, you know, for DNA and things like that. It's like, well, what do you go with? They're not there unless you catch them in the act. You know, they left. Right. You know, we didn't you know, we can't. If they're not a criminal already, their DNA isn't even in the database. So if they leave some DNA, it's just true. It's just a profile until they get a reference to something else. And it's like, you know, if you don't have it on camera or you didn't catch them in the act, it's actually, it's a tough puzzle to solve. But yeah, I mean, he damn near did it. He damn near got away with the perfect crime. And he ended it by trying to stab her with a plastic knife. Talk about a bad luck.
[00:31:20]JordanNo, seriously.
[00:31:22]DariusReally? I grabbed a plastic knife. I can't even go out with a bang.
[00:31:25]JordanNo, I can't even go out and kill the person who was taking my inheritance.
[00:31:28]DariusYeah, all of it. Like 50 M's, wasn't it?
[00:31:31]JordanLike, yeah, 60, I think. And that's not even including like the house and **** I don't think. Yeah, man. Do you think any of the relatives deserved their inheritance or an inheritance?
[00:31:48]DariusWow, that's tough to answer. I don't like deserve is, they're his children, there's progeny. Only one, like most of them could stand on their own 2 feet. Does anyone deserve an inheritance? Like it's not really a deserved thing. You know, like you get it because that's your, that's your parents and they have money left over and what else are you going to do with the money? It should go to their children. But.
[00:32:09]JordanYeah.
[00:32:09]DariusNo one. I mean, how does one
